  1. I know what you're doing... Typical Swanson. How come you didn't holler at me at the scrimmages?
  2. Well... whoever you are, you're definitely not a Mustang fan making BB material. LOL You talk smack just like him... LOL
  3. Come on man... typing in all caps, talking smack and stirring the pot... if this ain't craig, you must be his brother. LOL
  4. No, this is no WO-S ploy. I know this guy. He is definitely from Nederland and he is definitely a smack talker who don't know SQUAT about football. Ain't that right Swanson?
  5. Regardless of the field condition, I hope WOS fans dodn't make excuses. As long as both teams play on the same field then it's fair. We had a few fans make excuses last year about the LCM game. I hope that doesn't happen this year. If you win by 1 or 100 you still only get 1 win. Amen! And that don't go for WOS only. Both sides have been known to have some excuse makers. Not so much the ones who have posted on this thread, but they are lurking in the shadows...
  6. ...especially when you're making assonine comments about him with no support.
  7. He was #15. A tall kid. He caught a couple of passes and he also broke off about a 25 yard run in the second half at Running Back. One tackle away from much more.
  8. I sure hope they get off the bus.
  9. No, he definitely doesn't... ...and I'm not real sure how him watching HF, EC, Jasper and Kirbyville the last 20 years makes him an expert on Hooks either. I'm still waiting for him to tie that all together for me. :
  10. OK...Now that was funny. I don't get it... I do...and it was funny. Oh... OK. Must be post 9 yr old humor. 8)
  11. They did that for the freshman and JV. It was to dark to do that for the varsity.
  12. I'm not arguing with you, bro. Just trying to come up with another explanation. I was there, I saw how bad the field got torn up. I've been scratching my head on that one since last week. The explanation that I gave you was the ONLY one I could come up with that did not have an alterior motive.
  13. Other than what you mention, the only other thing I can come up with is that they did not have another field to change the scrimmage to, they couldn't reschedule for another day because Jasper had to scrimmage on Thursday or not scrimmage at all(because they play this Thursday) and the practice field has no lights on it.
  14. OK...Now that was funny. I don't get it...
  15. I saw where a Ned fan actually picked us to win. That's GOT to be a first.
  16. LMAO... That's funny. Sorry LCM fans, but you have to admit, that's funny. uh...not really. Sounds like something my 9 year old would say. But I guess thats the type of humor you actually get, huh?? : : And by that you mean.......? It was funny. Lighten up "Francis". ;D I think what he meant was "the field was terrible and everyone was slipping". You must be looking for an arguement Dad! BTW you know Gasilla really doesn't get 9 year old humor yet. I was just trying to get a rise out of Gas, but, BOJO = no mo...not really that funny (unless you are 9). Well, sorry man, I thought it was funny, guess I'll just have to keep that to myself and the rest of the 9yr olds around... oh and td, too. ;D OK... I'm assuming this is directed to the guy who made the field comment. I think BOTH teams were pretty hampered by the field conditions.

BTW you know Gasilla really doesn't get 9 year old humor yet. If I could just get my wife's I'd be happy (humour that is)... ;D Hey Dad, your 9 yr old must be a witty little fellow.
  18. LMAO... That's funny. Sorry LCM fans, but you have to admit, that's funny.
  19. Once again, someone talking about Hooks who has no clue about the man. If WOS loses to Kirbyville, then we lose to a team that was better than us that night. There is no shame in losing to a 2A school, especially one that is one year removed from being 3A. He may be upset, but it will be about the loss, not what classification the team that beat us was in. u can say that because its the right thing to say but surely u dont believe that. I do know Hooks well enough to now that is not true and so does the rest of southeast texas that is not a mustang fan!!!!!!!!!! I know and believe it and I assure you that I am as big a mustang fan as they come. Tell me, just how well do you know Hooks? When was the last time you spoke with him? Do you know him personally, or just by what you read on message boards? Wow... I assume from your lack of response to my earlier post that you have never spoke with Dan. My guess is that you have never even met him, but you know enough about him to make comments about his ego on a public forum. I can assure you that if he cared that much, he wouldn't put them on the schedule. Hmmmm... maybe your knowledge of this game mirrors your knowledge of Hooks? Looks like it to me anyway. Have you seen ANY of the teams you listed on this poll other than Kville? My guess is no... but you are still expert enough to say that Kville has the best chance. I'll say this, they ALL have the skill to beat WOS, but skill alone ain't enough. At this point, Jasper is the more likely of the list. They have performed well in scrimmages against quality competition.

  21. I agree with you. I am not saying that they are preparing to win a scrimmage, I know they don't watch films and scout the other team. I'm saying that the outcome is important. Not on your record, but on how your team has progressed. If it were just practice then why go thru the trouble of arranging and playing them in all kinds of conditions like we have the last few weeks. If the outcome doesn't matter, then why do it at all? Why risk having players injured? It's because coaches need to see how they stack up against someone else and how they perform against that team matters, it matters a lot. See Gasilla, this is what I have been talking about all along. It matters how the team performs, not if they "win" or "lose" the scrimmage. I said a long time ago there are alot of semantics involved here... win, lose, outperform, underperform, what's the difference? It's the same thing. Just like people saying a scrimmage is just practice... BS... you are playing a game, or competing against another team where the result is tracked and yes, I've not seen a single scrimmage so far where no one kept score. Why? Because that is how you track success (or outperforming or underperforming if you like). When you keep score, there is a winner and a loser. I've never heard of someone scoring less points and tying or winning, have you? The result does matter whether it counts toward your record or not, it shows where you are at, at this point. It does not mean that you are going to have a bad season, just that you aren't as good as the team you are playing at that point. Again, that's the whole reason for them, to see how you stack up against the competition. All of that has nothing to do with my post to Stangchain, she was saying that the WOS coaches do not game plan to win a scrimmage, and they don't, but whether they win or lose that scrimmage is important to them. I will assume that you are speaking for yourself on this matter, Gasilla, and not for the WOS coaches. I find it hard to believe that the Mustang coaches consider "winning" a scrimmage the most important over how well or poor they perform in that scrimmage. An example being for the Mustangs starters to not score on another teams 1st team, the Chain Gang defense give up 2 td's, but WOS score 4 td's on the other team's complete 2nd and 3rd teams, therefore "winning" the scrimmage.(assuming you are right about the Mustangs not having a 2nd team, just some reserve players) p.s. I think this proverbial dead horse(mustang) ;D, is still kicking. That's why I am still beating it. ;D Of course, this is my opinion, just as yours, is yours. I've never polled our coaches about how they feel particularly about scrimmages, but I did play for a couple of them so I DO have a clue. As for scoring against second and third teams, I can only tell you that I've been to every scrimmage we have had in the last 4 or 5 years and, in that span, I have not seen another team put in a second or third team. I've seen a back up or two, but never an entire platoon (as I've said before). Friday, against vidor, they kept their first team in the entire game with some subs rotating in here and there (just like they would in a real game). It was that way for BOTH of us because BOTH teams wanted to WIN. I think the problem here is that your not very realistic on how these things work. Well I have been to many a scrimmage myself, mostly Silsbee. But I have seen my Tigers 2 platoon for many years. I went to the Jasper/Nederland scrimmage and for the most part, both teams had 1st and 2nd teams. I admit that they may not have been complete 11 different players, but I saw at least 8-10 different players going from 1st to 2nd team. Just because WOS doesn't have enough to 2 platoon, don't assume that others don't do it in scrimmage games. That's funny, because I was also atr the Jasper/Ned scrimmage, I didn't see wholesale changes. The Jasper QB sat the entire second half, but most of the offense remained the same with the exception of a few rotating in (which they will do in games). The same with Nederland. Ahh yes... the patented Aggies Are We shot at WOS. You so love to do that don't you? Why is it you so loath WOS? I also find it funny that, all of the sudden, they are scrimmage "games". I thought they were, "just practice"? Finally(and this is it for me, I'm sure folks are bored with reading this), WOS wasn't the only team involved in these scrimmages over the last 4 years where wholesale substitutions didn't occur. So, I wonder why the other team didn't platoon? Maybe, because they wanted to WIN the scrimmage...
