If you ever watched Briles Stephenville teams in the 90's, they did the same thing. Briles used his QB running a little more, but they were THE model for the spread offense.

Good win by HF. I guess this was the game that the HF coach was refering to in the Enterprise article where he said "we've beat them in sub-varsity in the past". I guess he mean't the immediate past. Regardless of pickups, anytime you best a WOS squad you have done something. Congratulations.

You're right SFA (I think we've discussed this before ???), most teams that you see lined up in the shotgun are not running the spread. If they are, they usually run half of it. You hardly ever see a team, at least around here, running the Art Briles spread offense.

Jeremy is a good friend of my daughters and I am really glad to see him getting some attention. He is a great athlete and person. He is very humble, by talking to him, you would never know he was the football stud that he is. Best of luck to him, Kellen Free and the rest of the Bobcats!!

I usually follow the WOS subvarsities and I do not ever remember us losing to HF in football.

Uh oh... the phantom "smite", that sucks. I don't think Norton would come back here. He is having success at a large 4A school and I just can't see him stepping back into 3A, even if it is at WOS.

Now that the predistrict games are done. I have to agree that HF could be the district dark horse. If you look at how they have played, they have been pretty competitive. They also played Jasper and Silsbee pretty dang tough last year. They have been flying under the radar, but I look for them to challenge for a playoff spot.

I would love for Coach T to get that job, I'm just not sure how much longer he plans to coach. I DO think that, when that day does come, it is very important that the torch be passed to a Mustang or long time Mustang coach. Someone that understands what Mustang football is all about.

Not that I totally disagree with you, man. But, this is really beating a dead horse. We are going to have to leave this in the hands of the people who can make changes if that is what needs to happen. All of this is nothing but a distraction. Let's let it go, PLEASE!

Well LCM, you also need to notice who those teams are.

Coach Thompson, Coach Dyer, Coach Pierce and the rest of the defensive coaches have done an excellent job with all of those young kids. I think there will be 7 on defense back next year. We should be pretty dominant on defense.

We have never played LM in the regular season. Only in the playoffs. I would LOVE to see a WO-S/LM match up.

No offense, but I am not sure how well playing Kelly will prepare us.

Just making a point. You insinuating that we aren't playing Bay City again because we lost is as ludicrous as me saying that Central would be afraid to play a 3A team. Besides, you act as if the people who post on this board have some sort of control over making our schedule. :

ummmm... we also lost the first time we played them in this 4 game series, then played them 3 more times. In fact, we lost to them the first time we ever played them in 1991 and have played them 10 times total. Kind of blows your hypothesis out of the water. You just be glad Central don't have the stones to put us back on the schedule...
