  1. I was looking at that map for the "potential" 3A DI district if this goes into effect. No one mentioned it, but I noticed one certain little blip on the map down I-45, just North of Galveston. If that happens, you guys are toast!!!
  2. I must say, I really like playing the likes of Dayton and Bay City. They are tough tests and better prepare us than I think playing Kelly will. I must also say too that the long drives in preseason are getting old. It will be fun rejuvenating the smack talk with all the Ned fans too...
  3. Yes, they did, but 2-1 ain't bad...
  4. Regardless of where you stand on this issue. A thread like this as well as the Orange Leader article are nothing but negative and a distraction for the community, coaches and especially the kids. We have people comparing kids abilities and making judgements on them as if they were professionals and I don't think it's any good for anyone. Everyone has had their say on the matter and I'm sure there is no question where people stand. I don't think this needs to carry on any further and think this thread, and all of the others, should be deleted. The kids and coaches read all of this and it's not as if they don't have enough on their minds already. I also want to say that I appreciate the effort given by the players, drill team, cheerleaders, band and coaches. If changes do need to be made. I have faith that Coach Hooks will/would do the right thing.
  5. Soooo... did you make that call? I honesty think that Coach Hooks would LOVE for you to work with his kickers. I could be wrong, but I think he would welcome the offer.
  6. LOL... tends to make you very forgiving on physical short comings...
  7. They said in the Stratford game that he was 5'11". Don't know if that's true or not, but they also said he runs a 4.3 forty. I'm sure Michigan will find a spot for him.
  8. I will not argue that. My only point is that, realistically, we can only deal with what we have in the program, and we don't have any true kickers. The guy who has been kicking has done as good as he can, but he is a receiver /tailback. We DO have the talent in the program, even without a fulltime kicker, to have won that game.
  9. We will not be able to beat BC being one dimensional. I knew this would happen, we have success running the power I in one game, on a wet field, all of the sudden we are a Power I team. BIG MISTAKE, mark my words. We don't have the personel for it. I agree we need to control the clock, but that is done by moving the sticks, not running the ball 3 times and punting. We are going to need to utilize the mid and short passing game along with running the ball. In short, we need to be balanced and patient. ;D
  10. WOW!!! You could have gotten every dime I have if you would have bet me that Silsbee and Jasper would score 7 points or less combined this weekend. This season continues to baffle me... ???
  11. Does anyone know how to get to the stadium?
  12. I'm on generator as well.
  13. HOOOOOOOLY COW!!!!! That storm was unreal nasty. If those were 80 mile an hour winds, I am sure glad I wasn't here to witness Rita. I am in Orange and we have no power. I'm on my battery on laptop and sitting in my car listening to the radio. They are saying 100,000 people without power. Do not know when we may get power back. Hope it will be soon. For the guy who asked, Orange was hit pretty hard. Lot's of debris, fallen trees, limbs etc. My yard is littered with it. I heard about the death in BC. A guy was under his carport watching the storm and it collapsed on him. This storm came in the same way Rita did. The wind was blowing the same direction.
  14. They are very good. They have a couple of kids who could probably play on the varsity. One for sure...
  15. Some of those students are due to the North Early Learning Center which is a special needs school. Not all though. The school has seen an increase no matter what, which is great news.
  16. LCM's enrollment has been on a steady decline also, just not as fast as WO-S. BC and OF are the only schools who have actually grown and very little at that.
  17. Several NFL teams run a variation of the spread offense in certain situations. The spread is a great offense between the 10's. Like any offense, the effectiveness is determined by the personnel running it. I think that any team should have multiple offensive sets. In this day and age you can't be an "I" only or a spread only. The tempo of the game should dictate what you run. No offense can make up for bad play calling.
  18. That guy is not a WOS fan. I don't think you've seen anyone from WOS say anything other than it sucked for both teams.
  19. Man, I hope not!!
  20. I have a feeling there will be a little more scoring this week, Mo.
  21. The reports that I'm getting say that they will put the ball in the air often. They have a pretty good receiver who can go get it. They have not run the ball much the first couple of games which is surprising to me. Bay City has always had a stud RB. They have not played very well on defense as noted by the 2 weeks straight of giving up over 30 points. They were supposed to be really good on the defensive side as they had several kids returning. I think they will get better. Either way, they always play us tough and I expect nothing different this time.
  22. Bay City is 0-2 with losses to Waller (33-28) and St Pius (33-27).
  23. BH is 1-1. Definitely no need to throw in the towel. They lost to a much improved Jasper team that scored 2 TD's and a safety on defense, right? I think they are OK. Congrats to Jasper. Things appear to be looking up!
  24. Many thought an 0-3 start was a real possibility (including myself). I think we are WAY ahead of where we hoped we would be. Whether we struggled or not, we still won which is monumental for a young team. I think we're alright.
  25. These stats can't be right.
