Because the talent level they play against in every single sport is incredibly sub par compared to the competition the schools in Beaumont play. The "state championships" that Kelly has won and competed for are all on a 2A level or bellow equivalency.

What an absolutely trash comment and advice to give a kid who is thinking about playing high school sports. News flash - for every GOOD team out there winning game after game, there are 2 or 3 times more out there struggling to get wins. The discipline and lessons learned from playing football, even at a losing program, are invaluable for young men in today's society. Coach Langston is a good man. The men coaching at Beaumont programs are good men, who care deeply about the development and molding of their players into successful young men OFF the football field. If you're part of the Beaumont football village, you are part of the problem with this trash kind of thinking and advice to a young man.

Bruh don't get in your feelings. I been a lurker for a long time. You don't have quality football IQ takes. I'm sure most football coaches don't know the ins and outs of whatever your profession is either. It's just reality. You don't know as much as you think you do.

There is nothing in this world that more people are a fan of or enjoy, but really have no clue about what they're talking about, like football. I promise you, 100%, if Izzy coached HS ball in Texas, and you haven't, he knows more football thank you. Wish we could get a real time virtual white board and have some of you even do the most simple of things, like even identify if a run scheme is Zone or Gap Scheme. Could you identify it in 2 to 3 seconds? I promise you Izzy can, and I don't even know him. Humble yourselves. Yall don't really know as much as you think you do. Just because you know what play action pass is when you watch football on Saturdays and Sundays doesn't really mean squat. Have you game planned against another coach who is getting paid to beat you?

My brother in Christ... Vince Lombardi couldn't win games with West Brook right now. There's so many things wrong there and in the city. Easy to blame coaching, but nobody wants to acknowledge the truth about how terrible the culture of the school and city is. The kids run the school. Discipline is a joke at West Brook. Also, don't just say there's "talent" there, when really, there isn't much. Every year young families move out of Beaumont more and more. The city has to give these kids a reason to love football. It is a basketball city now. If the kids who play basketball all played football too, it would be a different story. But look at the facilities and the fields Beaumont football kids practice on every day. Some of the worst in the entire state. We got 2A and 3A schools with better and nicer stuff than the 2 biggest schools in SETX. That's what is sad and pathetic.
