1.
We've played 2 5A games this year too.  We won one of them, but the other was scheduled as a Friday night home game, but due to bad weather it was cancelled.  Saturday morning they decided to play, but Lamar would only play if it was at their home stadium.  We drove to Houston and played on 4 hours notice, but we looked dead and like nobody cared about the game and we lost.  We play every year and it's always a good game that goes back and forth.  Coach West said he wouldn't have agreed to those terms and played, but we had a bye the next week and opened district with Montgomery the next week.  He didn't want us to be rusty going into district...My point is, we play 2 5A teams a year and we usually beat both of them or it's a really good game.  If your this far in the playoffs, you should be able to beat 5A teams.  Is the 4A title game in the Alamodome too or just 5A?
Not sure where it is this year, but that is where it was last year  :P
  2. YEAH!!!  :) Thank you GCM for kindly putting that list together!!! Congratulations to all the players!!!  8)
  3. :D Here's another one:  TFND= Tivy finished, now depressed!  :P Go Brenham!
  4.
TFND - Tivy Fans Never Delusional....whoever came up with that had the best one liner from last year.
Rollin- I believe it was "Tivy Fans Nearly Delusional"  :D
  5.
Wow... This is the one of the most illiterate comments yet. The Board does not Hire/Fire. The superintendent does that, It is very humorous reading these post. I am ashamed that some people say that graduated from BH. For everyone saying it was the " Board" go look at their job description.. Oh wait.. It is not a JOB. These individuals volunteer their time for the sake OUR children. For all of you "Talkers" go do something for your school district, and not just cause drama. It's apparent the "Talkers" have nothing else do with their time.
::) Uhhh...just in case you didn't realize it when you ventured onto this section of SETX sports, this is a forum, otherwise known as a discussion board, where members come to discuss (aka talk) about topics of interest.  Also, it is obvious that this topic is of great interest to many a members and last time I checked anyone is free to express their opinion so long as it is within the rules. Now that this is cleared up.....welcome to the forum- feel free to talk about any of the topics you find of interest! :)

CRAZY!!!!!! NO RESPECT!!!!
Dayton never played Dawson.... get your facts straight before you fly off the handle.
sorry got carried away and gave you too much credit........ what I ment to say is A TEAM WHICH SMOKED THE TEAM (FRIENDSWOOD) THAT BEAT DAYTON!!!!!
WARNING: Really, really off topic........would you say Crosby was the same team that played Dawson as it was when you played your pre-district games with Ennis or PNG?  Think about that before you answer.....  ::) Carry on.....
  9. Am I missing something? Anyone?
I expect the entire list will be available in the Baytown Sun on Wednesday. The GCM players were notified at their Fall Sports Banquet last night.
Cool. Thanks!

  11. Watching the Broncos over the years has become a way of life....... JORDAN BAXTER, watching you grow up playing sports throughout the years has been so exciting!!! I can remember you being  the fastest little kid on the soccer field, going to different states hitting grand slams, and most of all sacking many qb’s. You make me so proud kid!
Your post actually got me to thinking back to just how long I have been watching these kids play sports. I can recall watching them in tee-ball when they were barely taller than the baseball bat....boy how they have grown!  I have many fond memories of watching them grow up and some of the most memorable times I will always look back on and smile were our trips to the Frio River with Jordan Baxter, Payton Ploch and Chance McCormack....fun, fun times for sure!  I can't think of anything more exciting right now than to think they could go off to the same college!!! That would make me very, very happy  ;D sure would make keeping up with them on Saturdays a lot easier  :D Jordan- we sure are going to miss watching you get all pumped up after sacking a QB and pretending you don't hear us yelling at you from the stands :P........CHAOS!!!! ;)  You are like family and I wish you nothing but the best! You know where to find us in late July/ early August and you are always, always welcome!!! I promise to be done fishing by 5pm ;) Payton- what can I say...you, young man have amazing skill and talent, not that I ever thought differently :P.  You have had a great 2 years while dealing with a tough, tough thing....I know your dad was watching and is very proud of you!!! You have a special guardian angel to protect and watch over you forever....always remember that! If you ever want to get away, you are more than welcome to join our family vacation- you know how to find us.  I hope and pray all your dreams come true! Chance.....we are so, so, so proud of you!!! You are one heck of a kid- your parents could not have done a better job!!! I am so proud and excited to see you start this next chapter in your life....I know you will be successful in achieving all your dreams and will make us all proud.....you always do- it's in your blood  :P :-*

The only thing worse than hearing incomprehensible slang, is trying to read it.
Hey, Humperdink go find the fine art forum!
Now that's funny!!!!!!!!!!!
I spit soda on my screen everytime I read this dang thread......was feeling kinda worn down and dragging this Monday evening and ran across this thread and thought.....now that is one of my all time favorites, I need to read it again.....I am glad I did  ;D  much better Monday evening now  ;D
  13. Well, I haven't seen either of them play....read some about um and I know Denison kicked Sulphur Springs tail last weekend so just from the little I know, I say Denison goes all the way!
  14. Not trying to rush anyone, but patiently waiting  ::)  :)
  15.
Stewart is a great coach and is the reason for Daytons success...if you think otherwise, you must have a really low football IQ.
Ummmm....I would like to point out that a fan of the opponent that just BEAT us (uhummm [clearing throat]...pay attention bronco pride) is saying we have an awesome coach.....I think that speaks volumes and uhh is proof that maybe bronco pride is not only not a good nickname for you but may indicate you could be suffering from some sort of memory loss (14 years to be exact)! That is all I have to say about that because I honestly can't think of anything else....I am at a loss for words :-X or at least for words that will keep me from getting in trouble  :-X One last thing....... congratulations Coach Stewart and the entire coaching staff for another absolutely fantastic season!!!! I am so appreciative for everything you have done for Dayton and for the boys that have gone/ will go through your program...in addition to developing great football players, you all have had an important hand in turning them into fine young men with values and determination!!! I also know you believe in your players and for those willing to put in the effort you will do what you can to help them go on to the next level and that is greatly appreciated!!!Thank you for all your hardwork and dedication to the youth in Dayton!
  16. Go get um Brenham!!!!  ;D Even with a win last year, Kerrville left a very bad taste in my mouth- some of the worst trash talking, unsportsman-like behavior I have ever seen.....and we're not talking good ole, believe in your team, all-in-fun, trash talking behavior.  I recall some very, very distasteful and disrespectful comments being made about our boys by them...."monkey, something or another, thugs" was just one of the descriptions I recall.....they were very, very, very sore losers and if my memory serves me correctly, the name calling was quite ugly before the game, and even during the game- a fight almost broke out at the beginning of half-time as the teams were leaving the field because one of the coaches made a comment towards one of our players  :o....unbelievable is not even close to describing my opinion of the situation but I also can't think of an appropriate word to use here so I will leave it at that  :-X.......GO KICK THEIR BEHINDS!!!!!!!!!!! In Georgetown huh? Well my thought on that is.....I hope there aren't 50mph winds....not pretty when punting against the wind  ::)......you had to be there.  Irregardless, they are beatable and I think Brenham shouldn't have any trouble against them, now dealing with their attitudes, nastiness and poor sportsmanship is an entirely different story...and I only bring it up to make sure you are prepared....just make sure you rise above it! You are the better team and the way the players/ coaches/ fans conduct themselves is proof of that!!!  :) Best of luck to Brenham!!!
  17. Well looks like both our seasons ended on the same night.....dramatically different circumstances from last year but both teams had good runs this year even without the star players from last year so nothing to be ashamed of that's for sure. There's always next year......
  18. Wow...I have never seen Dawson but they must have some program to be advancing this far in only their 2nd year! Quite impressive for sure. Congratulations Dawson.....now, go get Lake Travis...I want someone, anyone to beat them, just once so I am pulling for ya and if I did not have to go out of town next weekend I would love to see that game!!! Wouldn't that be something if a 2 yr program pulled off the upset with LT!!!  :o :o Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it........GO GET UM DAWSON!!! You have this Bronco fans support for what it is worth  ;D ;D
  19. Couple of things I want to share with the fine young men that played this game tonight......first off, congratulations are in order to Brenham for doing a fine job of making the necessary adjustments to execute very well in the second half and get the job done!!!  Your adjustments and our mistakes resulted in the better team winning tonight. I wish you nothing but the best- you have a great team and the ability to go all the way! To the Broncos: although I wish the outcome was different, there are some valuable and important lessons to be learned from it all! I want you to know you have nothing to be ashamed of first and foremost...you had a great year and it was a fun and exciting ride!!! I am so proud of this entire team for your accomplishments and you are all stars/ winners in my eyes. The team effort you put forth to overcome the odds you faced this season is one for the record books for sure. You are great role models and many, many people are very proud of you.  I pray you each have found/ find meaning in the whole experience with this team (win or loss)- there are valuable lessons to be learned with both outcomes! I wish all the seniors nothing but the best in the future and please know that I, and many others, feel honored to have witnessed the effort you put forth......it was very respectful and full of heart......we can't ask for more than that.  Now take this experience and go follow your dreams.  To the players that will be returning next year or the seniors who will continue to play at the next level, build upon what you have learned this year and never, never stop believing in yourself!!! Thank you for an outstanding and exciting year of football!!! A dedicated fan who loves and stands by the Broncos no matter the outcome!!!
  20. Shoot......I was pulling for Calhoun- a really good friend's nephew is on that team! We were throwing around the idea of making the trip together to see next weekend's game had things turned out that way......oh well!
  21.
And ain't it great? Nothing like the world stopping every once in a while just to give us all a break from the times when it spins way too fast. Have a good one everybody. Stay safe, watch the roads and hit somebody with a snowball if you get the chance!
I like your attitude and couldn't agree more.....we all need to slow down every now and then and I can't think of a better time to do it....get a nice cozy fire going in the fireplace and kick back with a warm blanket and catch some zzzzz's- that is after the trip from hell to get home  :-\
  22.
Snowing good in Pasadena. ;D ;D ;D ;D
And it was sticking in Pasadena/ East Houston (really coming down on Hwy 225 from about Beltway 8 to 610 and I-45 this morning around 10:15am.....not fun to drive in for sure >:(  Especially not looking forward to the trip home this afternoon- Fred Hartman bridge and snow/ice not a good mix  :-\ :(
  23. Great videos......thanks for sharing!
  24.
You can coach and inspire until the cows come home. At the end of the day, D1 coaches and recruiters (along with a little thing called genetics) will still be the only factors that determine if you have D1 talent. D1 recruits do not define wether you have a successful program or not. Coach Price ran a good, clean program that was respected in and around the Houston area. Based on that, he was successful.
I do believe this is the most sensible post in the entire thread and I am not being a smarty pants either  ::) I wish Coach Price all the best.
