1. Yeah aren't we a strong program.  With the strength of the SLC we should be able to win every night out.
2. Mike James started but did not really have any good looks at the basket.  He made a couple of turnovers and Harris came in.  Harris was having a good game.  James did not play in the second half until about the 4 minute mark.
3. Thanks, I couldn't rember exactly where he went from UH
4. One of the reasons for the artificial dirt and grass is to keep the field playable in a typical SETX spring.  Unlike the pros or possibly some big time programs, the field is maintained by the coaches and players.  Would you rather they practice, study and play or work on the field?
5. From my perspective I agree that Foster was the best x & o coach Lamar has had since I became aware of the program moving here in 83 but having watched Tubss both at Oklahoma and here the 2nd time.  Tubbs probably was a better overall recruiter as is evidenced by his success at Oklahoma as compared to Foster at UH and Utah.
6. The Beck's biggest need imo is a facility for the visitors, although it probably needs a much nicer locker room facility for LU also.  The refreshment booths need to be improved.
7. I am not sure that it's the x & o issue as much as it is teaching the team how to play under control.  Two games straight with more than twent turnovers and many bad choices for shots.  Just my opinion but rarely should a three pointer be from no pass or the first pass.  Usually teams and players shoot their best three point percentage on shots that are received from passes out of the paint.
8. Would like to think Saturday would be a blow out win, but with this team no telling.
9. Too many quick three point attempts in the 2nd half, too many turnovers, poor free throw shooting.  Hard to win a close game with those stats.
10. Based on their 9 and 10 record I would say they are no better than we are but they did beat ULL
11. Right on plan up by 11 at half, 56% on fg and 11 turnovers.  Turnovers probably the key to possible win.
12. Was not implying that BCG couldn't get LU out of mediocracy only that in 3 to 4 years we would be hunting for another coach.  Let's see and I am not saying I want to go down this path but LU had Jack Martin with up and down teams in a no name conference for maybe three decades then LU had Tubbs for what 3-5 years followed by Foster for 3-5 years and then the decline began.
13. One thing positive for LU with Roc is that this is where he wanted to coach so maybe it is not just a stepping stone job and if he grows as a coach and learns how to manage a game then maybe Lamar wouldn't be in the position of having to find another coach every 3 or 4 years.  Guarantee that if a BCG came to LU that is about how long he would stay.
14. At least part of the responses are only made to aggrivate the other opinion.  End of day we probably won't have any imput to what Lamar does as far as being in the Southland or an FBS conference.  As for student attendance, a lot of it has to do with the type of students Lamar has.  Most of the students are commuters, they drive in to go to class and then drive home to go to work and don't want to drive back in the evening to attend anything.  On Satudays they are busy somewhere else.  Places like A&M, Texas and LSU have a large number of students living on campus or near campus so there is more peer pressure to go to the game with the group.  For basketball the student organizations are key to getting students to the games.  And yes most places really only wildly support winners.
15. I am all for moving to a better conference, but if WAC is going to stay a FBS conference they should not invite non-football playing schools.  One of the reasons the Big Ten and Pac 10 are expanding is so that they can have a conference championship game.  Big 12 will not have the Conference Championship game in 2011 due to loosing Nebraska and Colorado.  Lost TV revenue and exposure.
16.
They can dunk during warm-ups as long as the refs aren't on the floor. Once those guys show up it's a no-no.
For the most part that is like saying there is no speed limit unless a cop is around.  Point is there is no need to practice dunks in warm ups.  Rember Lamar warms up on the end of the court the refs walk out to, so there is no warning.
17. All good points as far as missed oppurtunities even with the guys who played, but getting slapped with a Technical foul for dunking in warm ups is the coaches fault and shows a lack of players following instructions or a lack of knowledge of the rules by the coaches.
18. The plays in the last two minutes could have worked out and Lamar could have won, but the coaching that might have made those plays unnecessary were from the 10 minute mark until the two minute mark.  That is when we lost the lead.  Won't argue that Custer is a better free thorw shooter than Lamb, but we built the lead with Lamb and maybe we could have expanded it before it got to crunch time.
19. I am positive that Coach Tidwell hates loosing but running the table is not a necessity.
20. Has Lamar started the same line up two games in a row yet this year?
21. It is not unthinkable that if this team new how to hold a lead and make good decisions at the end they could be sitting right now with only one or two losses.  The only teams that they have played that they didn't have the oppurtunity to win was SMU an Texas.  And if they were on a roll they might have had a shot at one of those.
22. Not calling for Roc to be fired, but can anyone explain why Devon Lamb played the first ten minutes of the 2nd half during which LU built up a seven to nine point lead went out still playing well and never came back in?  Personally I like Coy Custer and think he does better than given credit for but when Harper got hurt it was the perfect time to bring Lamb and his energy back at least for a few minutes.
