  1. There usually isn't an "entry fee" per say, but a fee for each player listed on each teams' roster - $10-15 per player with a 15 player max. Rules and such are depending on how you want the tournament ran. I ran one, and we based the rules on regular slow-pitch softball. Each team had to have three females on the field at all time (One either pitches or catches, one in the infield, one in the outfield). to get more money, you can allow one homerun per team per game, but each additional homerun will cost or it's an out. Something like $1-$3. you can also do a homerun derby for the Tournament ($5 to compete).
  2. the location doesn't matter. It can be at the school or another park. THe practice cannot be "coached" by someone in the district.
  3. As far as I know, there is no rule about a student playing any sport during another sport(i.e. playing select baseball during football/baketball), so I would imagine that there isn't a rule regarding playing select baseball during the high school baseball season. However, if you've been a part of a Varsity baseball program, you'll know that the sport takes up a lot of time (till dark every practice), and many weekends have either a practices or tournaments.  If the program doesn't have much to do on the weekends, finishes practice early, and/or the player doesn't pitch; there really isn't anything wrong with it. I love baseball, but that's going to be a lot on the students plate at one time; school, baseball, baseball, homework, sleep.
  4. That is too good  :D... Do we give out the same type of award during baseball as well?
  5. no hires yet... looking within the district
  6. Who cares why? I mean really. what does it matter who plays who and when. If you really have a problem with it, talk to coach williams or terrier about it. Get it straight from the source, quit speculating.
  7. If they wanted to? Action? What can the coaches do except motivate and drive the kids to do what they can? I have no idea what athletes play what, but how many of the starters for Kountze basketball play other sports?
  8. You realize those coaches for basketball.... Who are good and have great athletes to work with.... coach football too
  9. End of 4th kountze-5 buna-4 Kountze scored 4 in inning
  10. You can say all you want about the pitcher's velocity. The guy hit his spots threw in, out, mixed in offspeed pitches (for strikes, can't say the same for Anahuac's) and stayed ahead of most of the batters. I do think Anahuac had some hitters, but were shut down last night. The pitchers name btw is Sloan Wilson and no he doesn't throw mid to upper 80's like everyone thinks you have to, but I've watched him pitch (not just throw hard and hope for a strike) wisely and get batters out. You'll keep hearing about him this and next season. The warren team played well together, got hits when they needed them, and big outs when Anahuac was threatening to score late. Congrats Warren keep it up
