I thought the spring game went well. Lots of bright spots, and lots to work on just like you would expect. The biggest improvement I noticed was several position changes that will pay big dividends this season.

But losing help in the secondary and getting better at QB is well worth it. Even if we goto a run first offense … with an athletic qb we could run an effective bootleg and play action along with the QB leaving the pocket when needed. Secondary will be ok just be next man up.

Agree with most of your assessment, there were lots of players in/out in the skilled positions, OLine and defense. You can tell they are searching for the right grouping, but they better spend all week in a catching and tackling clinic.

Amazes me that catching was #2 on your list. I was baffled at the amount of drops, although tackling was weak too. Not sure how you fix not being able to catch??? Tackling, probably some changes in personnel needed but tackling can be coached up with proper coaching and enough time put in.

What does Nederland have coming back next year? What about coming up from the JV or Freshman?

The Texas City defensive line seems to be very quick and good as well. Will be a good test for the Bulldogs.

Correct me if I’m wrong but for district next year it is exact schedule as this year except reverse home field?

I realize they are fourth place but have a good record so what are their strengths?

What does Crosby have on defense? Who are the studs and where do they play?
