1. Most teams appear to play a 3 man line and add extra defensive backs for a dime type defense.  Nederland will do the same.  Expect mal malveaux and Pryor to play safeties.
2.
I sat on the Dawson side, y'all were thunderous! This just in, there will be representation from Dayton, BH, Livingston and Vidor there in support of the Dawgs!
I like that, THUNDEROUS
3. Nederland 22, Pearland Dawson 19 (OT) Pick: Pearland Dawson What actually happened: This was a sensational finish, but truth told, large stretches of this game were a little vanilla. And you know what? That's probably precisely why Nederland won; their balance and poise offers more substance than style, and that meat-and-potatoes approach was the difference until Pearland Dawson rallied for 16 unanswered points from the final play of the third quarter through the final play of the fourth (a 32-yard field goal to send it to overtime). Dawson appeared to have all the momentum then, but the Nederland defense forced a short field goal to set up a game-winning opportunity on the next drive of extra time. Once there, QB Carson Raines eluded pressure in the pocket, rolled to his left, and hit Seth Barrow for a walkoff 25-yard touchdown pass to send the Golden Triangle into mass hysteria. That last throw was a thing of beauty; across his body, under pressure, into coverage ... it doesn't get much better than that. To beat the best — Dawson was 4A's top-ranked team — you have to be the best, and Nederland was this weekend.

5. See that excel and sponsors are taking orders for shirts for the game.... Check out their Facebook and support Big Ned!
6. I'm watching Georgetown/angleton at the moment
7. What studs were added from  Nederland black?  #2? Any others?
8. I like seeing all the fans from all over supporting the bulldogs and watching some good football
9. Yes, great turnout last week.... Better than normal
10. I just hope Nederland is able to put the excitement of Friday behind them and focus on the new #1 Georgetown.  Neumann is usually good at getting the team focused, but being such a huge emotional roller coaster like it was always causes a concern.  The party is over, time to goto work.
11. That's awesome!  I've watched it a dozen times myself.
12.
Seen both play and I'll take Nederland in a close game
Did you see Georgetown in person or Internet?
13. Some pull for us because they support the area or they enjoy a good clean hard working team... Others are still jealous and upset over their loss.
14. Yes Hopkins will be a big part if this game.  We need to pound the rock for long drives and he's the man to do it.
15. What about the mascots?  2 clowns ---demdawgs and pearlands #1
16. Georgetown is great!  Nederland does not have a chance this week.  They would've easily beat PD.    just ask
17. The comment about the better team not winning was first, it was immediate
18.

Hopkins is definetly a difference maker for this team and plays right into what Nederland does best, control clock, hold on to the ball, and physically wear down the opponent ...that is evidenced by Hopkins' play in the 2nd halves of games all season.  I said this on another thread but I'll say it here too...Hopkins is an increadibly tough kid and i feel like you would have to leave him tied to the goal post in Nederland for him not to play next week
Ain't no body man enough to tie him to the goal post. He'll be there.
;D
19.
some of you are really hung up on the score comparisons, and I guess if that is the only barometer you have then so be it.  But if any of you were at Reliant Friday night you saw a different barometer and that is the heart of the bulldogs, that is the one thing the scores and the stats don't show, look for the score to be in the high twenties with the dogs coming out on top.  By the way Dawson did have more yards than us but unless someone can figure out how to redeem them for points then its just stats and won't get you a win.
EXACTLY  8)
20. Strangely enough, I think this game for Nederland comes down to the defensive line.  I think we can score on Georgetown, stop their run, and cover the pass if it comes out in a timely manner.  Hence, if our Dline can get pressure, we can shorten the timing of the pass patterns and create havoc in what Georgetown wants to do.  Especially if we can get pressure with our front 4 without having to blitz much.  So can our 4 horsemen get it done?  Can they pressure the QB into miscues, bad passes, fumbles, and sacks?  That would let the rest of the defense play back and make sure tackles on runs and receptions.  Also lets our offense control the clock and keep a Bulldog pace.  Guess we will see soon.
