1. Is Vidor District Champs next year?
 2.
Ifs and buts were candy and nuts;  the LaMarque game was never in question.  They scored 14 points off of our miscues.  Each oh the last 2 scores were with Navasota up 3 scores and playing a prevent defense.  I agree the QB made it an interesting game but Navasota was in control the entire game even with our 4 turnovers.  We ran the ball more times than we passed and against a defense that everyone said we would have no success on the ground against.  The big boys in the trenches may get tired, but just as LaMarques big guys did, WOS will also wear down.  LaMarque was getting pushed 5 yards off the line of scrimmage in the 4th quarter.
Yeah I know stats don't mean anything I was just looking and reading how the game went.. So do you think if they would have shut the run down the passing game would have worked?
 3.
Several times it looked like WO-S had 14 defenders on the field but after replaying it several times in slow motion I saw that it was indeed only 11. Wow.
We'll we have a 11 who give 112% so it looks like 14..  ;)
 4. West Orange-Stark football coach Cornel Thompson said his team will play for a state championship. Not in three weeks, but on Friday. Thompson, a longtime WO-S defensive coordinator who replaced former coach Dan Hooks following his retirement after the 2010 season, said the winner of the Class 3A Division II state quarterfinal between No. 4 state-ranked WO-S (13-0) and No. 1 Navasota (13-0) would win the state title. "This is the state championship game right here," Thompson said Monday. Thompson said WO-S has lost four times to eventual state champions. "Yates beat us in '85 and won the state championship, '95 and '96 La Marque beat us and won the state championship and '05 Wimberley beat us and won the state championship," Thompson said. Added Thompson: "They don't call it the state championship, but you look back on it and say that was the real state championship game. Of course, they're not going to give you the trophy until you win Nos. 5 and 6, but this could be the game that you look back and say, 'That was the state championship game.'" People read waaayyy to much into things.. He explained why he said it the way he did.. There are always those games that you look at and say we have to play like this is the state game. Put that in your kids heads to go out and fight hard and leave it all on the line. Just look at the Ned and Dawson game.. After the win it looked like it was a state game.. lol Cornel was just stating that this game will determine who wins state.. Man this would have been an awesome state game though..
 5.
They don't play the whole game very often.  Someone was talking about all we want to do is run up the score.  Most games backups have been in by the middle of the 3rd quarter.  They do have a few that play both ways.  I don't think conditioning is going to be an issue.  It better not be at this stage in the year.
Think that was the point... WOS plays both ways and can last the full game if need be.. CAN NAVASOTA LAST IF NEED BE? Curious about the LaMarque game did the starters play the whole game? Were they tired in the 4th Q? Miscue on two Punts that Navasota scored on after a short field and one recovery in the end zone for a TD. La Marque 72-yard touchdown called back in the fourth that killed their come back rally. Take away those screw ups on the punts and give that TD back then La Marque wins. Just Saying.. Not sure when all those turnovers happened but it was 24-6 mid 3rd Q.. and Nav won 31-20 final.. Looks to me like Navasotas defense is not all conditioned to play the whole game. IMO..
 6.
I have seen both teams, and im telling you...Navasota will win. They are the real deal folks. Good as it gets in 3a. If you haven't seen them, trust me they are well deserving of the #1 ranking. Athletes on both sides of the ball, in every position. On top of that they are well coached and do things right. QB is a dual threat and the passing game will be too much for WOS. I assure you Navasota's defense is no punk either. Stangs will have a tough time scoring on them. Probably the best D that WOS has faced. WOS defense will be the best Navasota has seen all year. They are fast and fly to the ball. The rattlers run game will be limited by the Stang D. Fortunately for them, they pass more than run.  With that being said,  WOS has enough athletes to pull off the upset...but they will need to force a few turnovers and play very well on offense to win. Will be interesting to see Nav O vs WOS D. They will represent 21-3a well. From an unbiased opinion on what I have seen.. Its close through two quarters, then the Rattlers pull away in the 2nd half. Navasota 38 WOS 14
I wonder how well of a passer he is layin on his back? Cause that's what will happen if he doesn't get the ball off quick. He's not gonna have time to go deep and with the speed of WOS and those little bubble passes won't cut it..
 7. "We didn't play clean — they did. More power to them," La Marque coach Mike Jackson said. "We had turnovers, we had missed opportunities in the red zone, we had a touchdown called back, and we gave up a special-teams touchdown on the punt. We can't do those things and win against good teams." This was from La Marque HC.. "There's no lack of effort," Jackson said. "It's just they made the plays and we didn't." WOS is gonna have to make plays and not give them an inch.. WOS takes this one..

Don't get me wrong, I hope WOS wins, but I don't see it. Just hope there will be grief counselors on hand after the game for some of these WOS fans. You have alot to live for. It will be ok when Navasota spanks you. Just keep talking about the past. I hope that helps.
What basketball tournament are you attending this weekend?
The one Navasota is hosting..  ::)
 9.

Navasota so called great D just gave up 20 points to lamarque and if not for a turnover inside the 5 yard line it would have been at least 26!!!! So y'all can be scored on, it's been proven. So please don't throw your defense in the same league as ours and we won't throw our offense in the same league as yours! I believe this will be an extremely close game the entire night and that the game will come down to special teams and turnovers! This is why I believe wos wins this game. I give us an edge in the return game and in the turnover battle. Standing by my prediction of 17-14 stangs!
No one is claiming to be in the same league as WOS when it comes to defense.  However, when comparing offenses, I will give Navasota a huge edge.  Navasota's defense is good enough to get the job done... BTW, 2 of those LM touchdowns came on Rattler turnovers.
Can't believe a Navasota fan brought this up. Navasota scored off of one LM turnover. One botched punt snap. Scored one TD on a bad punt snap recovered in the endzone. LM had a crucial TD called back on a phantom holding call downfield and were not awarded a TD at the goal line when the LM QB appeared to be across the goal line (and they got no points out of it). Now, I'm a believer that good teams find ways to win, but don't try to make it sound like LM was handed anything... Sota definitely won the "gift" category.
That's what I'm saying... That game was a lot closer than it looked..
 10.
Angleton...you got robbed!  Congrats on the points you rolled up though...very impressive.  GTown beat you up in the trenches which is expected when facing a 5A team. Enjoy this Georgetown...you won't be this good in 4A again.  Just ask Humble. That first year after dropping down is always your best chance to highjack the playoffs. Nederland, prepare to get the brakes beat off of you.  Your 21 point season average is gonna have you sitting at home with the other true 4A teams.  Congrats on beating Dawson.  The finals should have been Nederland vs Angleton or SC for the true 4A finals. Much love to all my fans ...especially Jack the Hammer ...a GTown fan.  The GREATEST SHOW ON TURF WILL RETURN NEXT SEASON WITH MUCH OF ITS SAME CORE OF PLAYERS AND OUR O-LINE RETURNS BIGGER AND BADDER. WE OWN 19-A and we'll get our shot again in the playoffs next season ...hopefully a fair one.
Because when you get beat by a better team it's never fair..  ;)
 11.
I would have joined that fest. Bottom line is this, you can't penalize yourself into a timeout. Refs should have picked up their flag and waived it off........game over!!!! Even though we won, will this go before the UIL? If they are not there to confront situations like this, what are they there for.....other than to make tons of money?
I'm glad Ned didn't get screwed because they earned that win... TWICE.. lol

One.. it seems Dawson QB spiked the ball before his guys were set so a 5 yd penatly and no 10 sec rule applied. BUT THEY CALLED AN ILLEGAL SHIFT? I don't see it..? Maybe the far end reciever? But that would be illegal motion.. right? And that's only if they run toward the line of scrimmage.. Right? I know it's pretty much the same call but just don't see it. Two.. 5. Any other foul committed with the intent of stopping the clock. The offended team may accept the yardage penalty and decline the 10-second subtraction. If the yardage penalty is declined the 10-second subtraction is declined by rule. So the offended team can accept or decline the 10-second rule.. Interesting.. If Nederland had a choice I'm sure they would have taken the 10 sec with the foul.. Or is it up to the zebras.? LOL hummm.  ::)
Ten second runoff, game over. Decline the penalty, Ned ball on downs, take a knee.....game over. No way on earth they should kick a FG to tie.
I have seen some pretty bad calls and this one will no doubt be at the top..
 13. I like to think by now teams have been tested and think of it this way.. From week zero till now each individual player has been tested because it doesn't matter how good your team is there is always at least one or two mis-matches in each game that test these kids. It's taking those lessons and learning from those even if your not the fasteset or the biggest kid and finding ways to win as a team..Nederland not the fastest, WOS not the biggest among many other teams. The saying goes you win as a team and lose as a team that's just sports in general.
