  1. This came out of Brad McGowan's office this afternoon. Construction of W.S. "Bud" Leonard Field began exactly 17 days ago, and on Monday, June 29 construction will begin for Provost Umphrey Stadium. Construction will begin with the removal of all existing stadium seating on Monday, June 29. On the following Monday (July 6), construction will begin on the new 40,000+ square feet Football Athletic Complex. The complex will encompass a weight room facility, academic room, video room, locker rooms, athletic offices, and other needed facilities. Construction will begin between 8:00am - 10:00am. You can log onto www.lamarcardinals.com for updates in our construction Picture Gallery. And, soon you will have access to the "Cards Under Construction Cam". This webcam will give up-to-the-minute footage of football construction projects as they happen. You will find the webcam on www.lamarcardinals.com. Attached below are several more pictures taken from the Lamar University Soccer Field, where construction is underway, as well. Soccer season is fast approaching! Don't forget to purchase your season tickets!!
  2. He graduated from Lamar in 1989. I don't know much else.
  3. I was just over there. They are plowing up the football field.
  4. And this is said without having any idea why Georgia State is picking up, correct? Must say the coverage that GSU has had in their start up has been sensational and all other start up programs as of late pale in comparison. And UNLV - have you seen what kind of talent UTSA has picked up? Most recent commit picked UTSA over Big 12 schools who had already offered... you gotta use your noggin there terror.. he will be a star from day one at UTSA. heck, probably a 4 year starter and will end up in their hall of fame. in the big 12, he might only have 2 years of playing time. kinda like how cmike picked A&M, he'll probably be the starter next year.. kinda like jamaal was at UT his freshman year. instead of sittin a year or two at most places, he'll be an impact player right away. Whatever Georgia State has coming in, they've already done America a favor by getting Bill Curry out of the broadcast booth. Negative and preachy, he always know more than the coaches who haven't been fired yet. Now if someone would just hire Bob "one syl a ble at a time" DAVE e........
  5. He and Will are step-sons of Kevin's brother. Sorry, no Millar DNA here.
  6. The guy who bores us with news of a team no one cares about (or should) is right. There ARE no divisions this year. There WERE divisions last year. That is why conference is already two weeks old--they're all scheduled to play 33 games.
  7. We can debate why Sam won and why Lamar lost it was the worst officiated game I've seen in years. I would feel the same way had Lamar won the game. The lead official, Rick Randall, was out to show everyone that he'll call a foul because he can whether it affects the game or not. The worst of the worst was the double technical--two guys bump into to each other coming off the court, one of them gets a T, and when the bench describes the official in terms that most everyone will agree with, there is a second T. (a sorry--think incest). 69 fouls, 105 foul shots. See little Ricky go tweet, tweet, tweet; Rocking Randall.... I don't pay to see some fool with a chip on his shoulder blow the whistle--LET THEM PLAY! at least, a little He even tried to get one of the fans removed. Rabbit ears aren't good trait for an official
  8. Most announce paid attendance which means that 911 and 1033 "crowds" weren't really that large. It's possible that Lamar is the only one to top 1000.
  9. Bryan Campbell, the barefoot punter, had another shoe that he used went he doubled as a wide receiver. In Ray Alborn's run-and-shoot, they always needed extra receivers. Of course, Bryan was from way up in the woods, Alto. Do they wear shoes there?
  10. I predict that the Scots will cash a bigger check than they did for the Philander Smith game
  11. He's wrong anyway--it should be 16 teams with every conference champ guaranteed a spot.
  12. Neither one graduated from Lamar. Murchison was hurt late in the Arkansas State game. I remember the sick feeling of watching him laying on the field after the hit.
  13. Does anybody know where Murchison is now? Lamar needs to get guys that people remember involved with the program. How about Eugene Seale?
  14. If you want to know what #8 is doing these days...... [Hidden Content] He'd be perfect to play the first game tailgate and maybe throw 'out' the first pass
