1. You have a very weak district  here. Get it! Dayton and everyone else. ----cbear4 - was that the realist or the dreamer talking ?  Dayton weak ! please share some of your expert insight !  Inquiring minds want to know !
 2.
I'm with a few of the posters on here who say this is gonna be a battle. I feel like the Broncos should take it, but it won't be a blowout. Here's my reasoning: 1. Crosby's offense will be the best we've faced in district. Their strengths play into our defensive weaknesses. Pass defense and a scrambling, good running QB. I will say though, that this years Bronco D is improved in both coverage and containment. (showed that with Mr. Diggs) But if you had to pick a weakness(s) I would still say secondary. Don't beat me up about this. They're good! Just not as good as the front seven. 2. Crosby's defense appears to be better at stopping the run than the pass. The Broncos have been predominantly a run team this year. I know the Broncos had 4 passing TD's last week (awesome performance by Herrera and Fowler by the way) but that hasn't been the norm. JD was out. I don't see Dayton throwing the ball 25 - 30 times. They should, but it'll be more like 10 -15. 3. The intangebles. Turnovers. I know, I shouldn't have brought it up. But you know you were all thinking it too. The cougars will show up and play hard. It's Dayton! 8) Thiese are only reasons I think it will be semi-close.  Dayton is still a better team this year. And last. ;) I hope I'm wrong and it's 70 - 0. But I'm predicting more like 38 - 28.
This could be a good game just because its Crosby and you can bet Crosby will be up for this game period.  We need an intense game to prepare for the playoffs so hope Crosby brings it for at least the first half anyway . Our  Secondary I guess I don't see the same weakness you see I see them as one of our strong points how many team's scored TD's on us because of blown coverage not to many, how many time's has a team made a great catch and a Bronco defender  knocked the dog shite out of him and made him drop it . I see our LB's as a one of strong points also no team has even come close to consistently out scramble us. Merka will be a tough test because he will be one those guys that can burn as well as flat run over you. This should be a fun game  .  GO BRONCO'S ~
 3.
What makes his success so different is what he got there with. How many players have come out of Coach Stewart's Dayton High School football programs and started at a division one college? One. In other words his teams have defeated teams with several D-1 players when Dayton had none or few. It's amazing at times to look at the sizes involved with the teams Dayton meets on the field and yet they're able to go toe-to-toe with them and in most cases, win. Yep, truly amazing.
I second that !
 4. The real acid test will be in the win/loss column in the post-season not the political rankings !
 5. We also played G. Gilbert in 2007 when he was a sophomore and from my vantage point Gilbert wins out easily.  Tivy had the big-head when we played them and got completely out coached by Dayton. This year it seems Tivy is full of them selfs again during one game they were ahead 44 to 0 and on 4th down faked a punt late in the game to run up the score !
colton palmer QB'd that game. Manziel had played some earlier in the year when palmer had gotten into a little trouble. Manziel played receiver against us and reinjured a shoulder when LaCour tackled him after a screen pass and long run.  He did not finish the game. ;)
I was thinking Manziel played QB some - I think that was Manziel that broke his arm after diving for a long incomplete pass in the red zone LaCour was there but he never tackled him .

 11. First downs 11 11  Hard to believe GCM had 11 first downs ?  Dayton also had alot more than 259 yards of offense ? Those must be the Chronicle stats !

They are good but not great. Herrera is a good system QB but not great. Next year may be different and with the young team that Dayton is fielding I think we may be able to make it really deep next year. That road gets really bumpy around the 2nd and 3rd round of the playoffs. JMHO and THIFR
you base your prediction on what ? you might be in for a surprise ! Over all I personally think this team is better than last years and if it wasn't for a couple of key injuries against Brenham we might of made it to state last year ! Don't count the Bronco's out - Always Believe !
Injuries are part of football.
If the shoe was reversed, you would also be saying the same. The only team they will shut out will be Dayton, but look at the bright side y’all can still make the playoffs after a loss to Crosby.
This is actually really funny. Thanks for making my day man.
does anyone know where dayton is ranked in the houston area or where i can find the houston area rankings?
The closest Dayton came was when we played Galena Park and the Chronicle had them as one top ten Houston area best teams and we beat them 52-23 . Most rankings are bogus anyway !
 14.
Whats the famous line... o yeah What have you done for me lately, thankfully GP gives a prime example. Last year they were a laughing stock, this year they have a legitimate shot to make playoffs and this should be a good game. 15 years history hardly matters on Oct 29th just saying. (neither does last years game) Hows the Pressure on Crosby? We've won 2x in 15 years i don't see any pressure this year.
Didn't you and a few of the Crosby poster's more than once brag about the beat down Crosby gave Dayton last year !

Brenhams #2 state ranking will get them to the #2 round in the playoffs and then chaos will ensue !
;D We have to get through Montgomery first...  That's where our focus is at the moment...  Defending our district championship...
Yeah that game should tell the tale for both teams -
 18. You know that team was slow not BH slow ,but really slow !---  the hill is for real  !
 19.
I watched CE King play last week against Crosby.  They are VERY fast and much faster than Dayton.  They are however, very small. If we kick the ball to them and we don't contain their QB and runing back, well, it will be off to the races.  I don't know of anyone on our team that can run with them.  Ball control for BH is going to be required to win this one.  This game is likely for the 3rd spot in district. The 4th goes to the loser. 1st Dayton 2nd BH 3rd Crosby 4th King
I'm sure every team looks fast compared to BH - you know that team was slow not BH slow but really slow !
 20. Just get all three  Highschools on the same page and run the same offense - problem solved - see how easy that was ! -  just kidding of course -

And right now dayton doesn't belong anywhere near this poll. I'm not takin anything away from them they r a great team and can't wait to see their matchup aginst brenham, but based on their performence this year there r teams that deserve the spot more than dayton. Now a team that does deserve to be in this poll is coldspring. They only have 1 loss to the number 4 team in the state kirbyville.
the only lost dayton has to a 4a team is angelton. i think angelton was ranked in the top 10 at the time. now that dayton is playing 4a teams, and not 5a, they're destroying people. we will continue to fly under the radar and beat people by 30 and 40 points until we get the respect we deserve.
l Those ranked teams like, Aledo, Brenham, LT & Tivy, have all played 5A teams too.  Difference is, that we beat them and y'all didn't.  We wouldn't be ranked either with 3 loses.  (nobody would). Dayton sounds like they are doing alot better though, so don't worry about rankings.
Doing alot better we were never doing bad in the first place we played a couple of 5a playoff teams that could probably beat most of the teams on the AP list. Stewart isn't worried about an AP popular contest he knew the potential of  his team and set out to forge a team that could possibly make a deep playoff run. I like flying under the radar it just gives us extra motivation when we get to play a high ranked team ! ;) PS Brenhamfan I was just using your post as an example not picking on you  :)
 23.

Ok...this is getting way overboard from both sides.  Pride from student athletes in their program, school, and community is what we hope our kids have.  Pride in our student athletes, our programs that our tax dollars help to sustain, and pride in our communities are some of the hallmarks to our great communities.  Trust me guys and gals, I have had the privilege to live in numerous states and nowhere that I have lived can match what you in Texas have; nothing when it comes to HS athletics and community involvement!  We have Yahoos from both communities - Dayton and BH alike who do get a bit overzealous on these boards and we keep coming back day after day to see what other inane, BS comment was made and by whom.  I watched this thread from the beginning, sort of ebb and flow and I have to tell you that it's on both sides.  Dayton has a great football program and has for the past, what, 12 or 15 years?  Kuddos to Stewart, the administration for the direction, and the Dayton community for it's support.  BH isn't having the best of seasons on the football field of late, but has traditionally been Very successful.  But neither community has the best of anything and probably never will.  As for what's been stated over and over about the Hill riding the coattails of Dayton and being jealous of Dayton's program...uh uh...Never has and Never will...well ok, I'm jealous of your stadium!  As for as the Hill being the best of everything else or the best in everything else, uh uh, never has and never will...pretty darn good, but not the best!  We're two equally proud communities with reasons to be proud with past and present accomplishments and we need to just let it go at that.  Hopefully, this will be  a great rivalry in the future.  In the day that I was at the Hill...we looked at Dayton as a rivalry and we WANTED to beat Dayton, the big brother from the north; but I don't believe they felt the same rivalry with us and why should they have.  I believe up until the Stewart era, it was like 11 wins apiece dating back to the 50's.  Perhaps with growth, comes a dilution of the "old school pride" and it's a sad thing if you want to be nostalgic, but it is what it is.   Most on the other hand, don't fall in that category and would prefer that you not say all Hillians or Hillarians or all Broncos or Dayton people.  People, that's just nonsense!  Go Hill, go Dayton, represent 19-4a in all athletic and academic endeavors and lets support our young folk to help them be great, upstanding citizens in their communities now, and in their future and not act like the Yahoos who get their rocks off bashing others on message boards!!!  Good "Lawdy" and I'll get off my soap box now!!!   ;D
Your treatise/post deserves a measured and mature response: You forget to tell the broncos to tighten up their jocks because big blue is coming to town AND your forget to end it with THIFR.  These are two requirements that can't be overlooked.  As for whether or not it is hillians or hillarians, I kind of prefer bumpies because after that beat down your hill sunk a few feet and became a bump. Also, it's not a good idea to beat your chest while having a pissing contest.  It's best to do one or the other for obvious reasons.  Man, I really do feel better after entertaining myself in this manner.  Thx. Oh yeah, the hill is for real.
Maybe he's got a point but we're not at 54 pages yet.  The good thing is that it's 4 a.m. in Wichita KS and the employees of the state capital now know that the Hill is for Real.  Yes they really do....they greet each other with it in the hallways now.
Hey Rollinac, you do know HiWay 54 runs right through the middle of Wichita KS and if your talking about KS state capital its Topeaka.
