1. Actually I was being cynic and I suspect you are doing the same , but I wouldn't want to bet a hot-dog on it !
 2.
1. North Forest 2. Barbers Hill 3. Lee 4. Crosby Skip all the work over the summer and the season and take these picks to the playoffs.  These picks are locks.
I tend to agree with you and I would almost bet a hot-dog on it !

Running the option doesnt sound too appealing to me for a spread QB.
He's not going anywhere and is looking very good at the QB spot. Once he improves his foot work, he is going to be a very good QB.  He will likely be a Div-1 talent.  He has the size and arm, just needs to clean up in a few areas. BH has some size on the line this year and the whole run game is based on mis-direction.  Liberty Hill ran a similiar style offence very effectivly with smaller and slower talent.  If you don't turn the ball over and you run theball effectively, what does it matter if the other team runs the spread or not?  You must have possession of the ball to score, right?   As for Dayton winning District, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.  Crosby is the team to beat.
Crosby beats Dayton for the first time in a decade and all of the sudden they are the team to beat?  Give me a break.  There's a better chance that BH doesn't make the playoffs.   "BH has some size on the line this year and the whole run game is based on mis-direction"   - Well if you've got size AND you're using mis direction we shouldn't even show up.  I hope Coach Stewart has heard of this mis direction thing you speak of.  There's been a lot of teams that run an offense similar to BH's that have been sent home with stat lines that read 42 carries for 67 yards against Dayton.   " Liberty Hill ran a similiar style offence very effectivly with smaller and slower talent." - first of all offense is spelled with an s and not a c.  Secondly Liberty Hill did run a similar offense with "smaller and slower talent"  than BH. NEWSFLASH they were also playing smaller and slower talent.  That "offence" is going to get abused by a team like Dayton. "If you don't turn the ball over and you run the ball effectively"  -  Those are big ifs, but thanks for stating the obvious.  You should start a whole series of obvious observations.  Something like, the team that scores the most points wins.  But in relation to your statement, I could also say that if you turn the ball over or go 3 and out a time or two Dayton is up 28-0. Then you're playing come from behind with an offense that isn't designed to score quickly. "what does it matter if the other team runs the spread or not?" - It will matter because when you get behind a team like Dayton that can score in bunches, your ball control offense won't be able to bring you back, but maybe BH will be that one team that won't "turn the ball over and run the ball effectively" against Dayton.
So what your really saying is you are a Dayton fan......... ;D ;D  Man someone needs to get back down in the river bottom and run his throw-lines...... ;D ;D  Bet ya a hot dog Crosby beats Dayton and Dayton ends up in thrid place this year.
I'm actually saying several things in that statement.   First, Ronnie Gage's BS offense isn't going to do anything against a real defense. Secondly, you're great at stating the obvious.  And lastly, your inability to spell basic words, given your Barbers Hill education is pathetic. Also, I'm not aware of any "river bottoms" in Austin and I haven't a clue what a throw line is.   As far as your hot dog bet goes, why are you making an internet bet with another man about putting phallic shaped meat in your mouth?  I guess that's how yall roll on "The Hill." 4.   The shortest distance between two points is a straight line so in that context an AD/football coach  providing he's da right man for the job will be the most effective tool to reach your goals in football any way. I think when more than one person gets involved on the same level then thats when politics enters the arena and power struggles  greatly compromise the intended outcome.  ~ When Kinky Freeman was interviewed durning the TX gov.race he was ask are you pro-choice or pro-abortion he said neither I'm Pro- Football ! :D
 5.
2005- Brenham vs La Marque....regional final-  Brenham is down 11 with just over 2 mins to play and only 1 timeout left.  Brenham storms down the field and scores twice with the help of a successful onside kick. 2009- Brenham vs Angleton....3rd round game-  Down 21-0 at the half, Brenham looked done.  Only to surprise everybody by fighting back to win.  It took everything from a couple of amazing catches, (One being a td thrown by the back up qb for the one play he came in for) to a gutsy fake fg call.  (Down 3, late in the 4th, coach West elects to go for the fake rather than take the field goal.  Luckly it worked and got us the go ahead td.)
I"m sure the 2009 Dayton playoff game was ranked up their as well ~ we hope to return the favor in 2010  ;)
 6.
Better Tighten up your Jocks, "The Hill" is coming to the party to play. New system, New attitude, New Results! 1 BH 2 Lee 3 Dayton 4 Crosby 5 King T-6 Galena Park T-6 GCM T-6 North Forest
I don't care who you are now thats funny !
 7.
Glad you think it is obvious, as I think it is obvious too. Some on this board will argue til the cows come home that 5a is not better than 4a. No where in my posts on this thread did I say Lee would beat Dayton. Lee could go winless this year.
Your whole thrust since you've been posting about 4a is that how much and how battle tested previous 5a Lee new comer is and now you say "Lee could go winless this year ". against non 5a teams no less.  I guess that pendulum swings both ways .
 8. With 28 seconds left in the game Tivy throws a complete pass to set them up for a field goal to win the game and advance to the State Finals ........... as their coach steps onto the field to call his final time-out ( Tivy had one of the best kickers in the state and this game was in the bag) something happens ! He see's AJ Dugat from Dayton running with the ball after making a masterful heroic strip ( Dayton fans look up from their gloom and are as surprised as Tivy fans ) Dugat races down to the red-zone and sets up his best friend Q-B/kicker Cody Green for his first Field goal of the year. Needless to say the kick was good and Dayton advanced to their first State Final !
 9.
Don't want to belabor the point, as I realize that Lee is not a world beater, but that is a run of the mill schedule for a 5a team.  If you're a 5a team, and you schedule Angleton, Ike and Elkins, then no one would blink an eye.  It would be on par with what everyone else is playing. The fact that a 4a team is playing those teams, it makes it seem like a difficult schedule. This is why it is obviously a little more of an even playing field for a 5a team that comes down to 4a. That rigorous pre-district schedule for Dayton would essentially carry on at that difficulty level for 7 more games for a 10 game season if you were in 5a.
You make somewhat of a point ,but you understate some key issues. Its hardly par if a small D-2 4a school plays a much larger 5a school and thats what were talking about 4a not 5a vs 5a. And it doesn't seem more difficult it is more difficult. I do agree that moving down to 4a ought to be to Lee's advantage, but I think your going to find 19-4a is going to be very competitive to say the least.
I believe he is just saying that Dayton will field another consistant team this year. They could produce some of the consistant results we've seen over the last few years. I dont think he was saying anything negative about Crosby. Cheer up, bigdaddy Crosby is back in the hunt, Cougars had a good year in '09, don't start worrying about losing yet.
Crosby will have a good team no doubt ~ Their Q-B is a D-1 prospect and will give most teams fits . I also know this will be one game the Bronco's are gunning for including the fans should be a heck of a game !

Enjoy the middle of the field and if we happen to kick one deep on you, I'll send you updates.   ;) ;) ;) Assuming you're first chair and play the flute, we have a great seat near the endzone for you..............  ;D ;D
Not going to touch the flute thing ( were more into 4x4's and guns here in Dayton ) >:( Since there is plenty and I mean plenty of room on BH's side some of us thought we would sit on your  side and pass out Kleenex's for your traumatized fans ! ;D

 14. Not a more worthy player - Payton Ploch one of the  more intensive players to come through Dayton ! Always puts up a 1000% when he hits the turf - just hope some of his intensity rub ed off on this years team.
 15. Its funny about human nature it seems the first inclination is to always believe the negative spin on things. I guess some people literally cant resist it makes them feel good about their own rotten reality. Reminds me of a proverb ~ "get the tree out of your own eye before you judge the splinter in mine"
 16. I know the Jayhawks would love to have him ~ maybe I'll make some calls .
 17.
The Dayton cronies are all saying YEP...Country Kitchen talk today was all about AJ.
The verdict is in ! If you heard it at the Country Kitchen it has to be true .
 18. My take on the tough pre-district schedule is that Stewart must think he's going to have an awesome team this year or he wouldn't go out of his way to burden the team with a early string of loses. ~ just my positive slant on things ~
 19.
Looking deep inside the 2010 Broncos I see some lack of seniors & juniors from the 2009 roster although the returning players got alot of experience going 4 games deep in the playoffs.Last year we had 19 seniors w/many 3 & 4 yr.starters-14 juniors-7 soph.-1 freshman kicker so without any new or move in's-or transfers this team will have only 14 seniors-7 jrs.-1 soph plus whatever class players move up from JV and freshman teams. In comparison to teams like FWood.-Angleton-PNG's out there that field 25-30 seniors nearly every year. But Dayton finds ways to continue winning every year w/young talent. To win the district outright on paper would be a tall order but the coaching staff seems to bring out the best in these kids year after year.I like the Broncos chances but how healthy will they be after the rugged pre-dist.schedule ahead of them.Always believe.
11 players on both sides of the ball equals 22 ~ returning players 14+7+1 equal 22 ~ looks like were good to go -so bring it on ! :)
 20. Really hate to hear that ! The guy is made of pure talent and is a nice young man ~ hope he figures it out and still makes a go of it somewhere else .
 21.
Anybody care to take a stab at 17-4A for next year?  Top 4?
Brenham if they are anything like last year will be #1 ( like their receivers and running back ) Montgomery looks to be a contender - Waller the wild-card - No knowledge of the other teams !
 22. When Dayton plays BH this year please tell me that the visitor bleachers have been expanded past the 40 yard line. ?  :-\
 23.
1. Crosby - Returning QB, but will need some help. 2. Baytown Lee - Underestimating the Ganders will be a big mistake! 3. Dayton - Limps into district after a brutal pre district! 4. BH - New Coach, New Sytem will be clicking by district! if not GCM 4. GCM - 3 rd year and they have to rebuild no more returning the whole team.
If Dayton comes out of pre-district unscaved (more than likely will ) then look out ! If they do get a little banged up then ... well thats why they schedule teams like BH early in the season. ;)
