Since the football talk has slowed....Has anyone considered the carbon footprint of this game.  I'm not sure what the vidor fans will be driving to huntsville in, but I have to think that it will be similar to convoy of duellies and F-250's that will be leaving from Dayton.  If i had to guess, the average miles per gallon for the fan base going to this game is probably around 2.  Maybe everyones company stocks will get a little bump from increased demand.
Dude abides -- Don't be getten all high tech on us and stuff your ruin Dayton's image ! :D
 2. i think that everyone knows that Vidor will not pass unless forced to.  Their big olinemen are not quick footed and do a much better job moving forward than they do in pass protection.  The QB seems to be a capable thrower, he just doesn't do it much.  They are one dimensional, and I expect this to be their downfall.  That said, they are going to have some rushing yards and they will eat up some clock.  A couple of turnovers, and this thing could go to Vidor~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ They better get some rushing yards if Bronco's "D" performs like they have the  last several games and V goes 4 and out it might get ugly!
 3. LBJ had some massive kids on both sides of the ball bigger than any team we played thus far, some of them got frustrated and resorted to alot of  shoving after the whistle. The Bronco's had no trouble matching up with them.

I am not from Vidor, BUT i've seen vidor and no way by 4 scores!
How about 4 scores and 7 years ago ..... OK its late what do you expect ! I'am out of here !
 5. If Friendswood beat Dayton they must be good ! No doubt about it son !
 6. This is a Dallas based magizine and always has a political biased slant for their favorite team !
 7. The Dogs need to pray it doesn't rain ! Crosby plays good in the rain . >:(
 8.
Any word on who the home team is?
The only thing I know is that Vidor will be going home for good !
 9.
If I were Vidor... I would make sure there punter is well warmed up before the game...
Nows that funny ! ;)
 10.
Concerning Daytons linebackers, I just spoke with a buddy of mine who lives in Dayton and he was saying that there has been tremendous movement of players at the inside linebacker position I assume that the ex running back is one of the current starters and that the other is an offensive lineman that has been moved there . Now he wasn't certain but he thought that they had only been playing at these positions for the last 2-3 games. Is this true if so that is not much experience to think that you can stop a running attack like Vidor has. I bet that the coach has a couple of things that these boys haven't ever seen before at least on the defensive side of the ball. I still get back to the same question who have you beaten??
I might ask you the same question !
 11.
Wow, you had one stomping, shall I go back and find the ones we have given you over the years?
Unless your from Vidor don't bother!
 12. I have seen so many people bashing Vidor on this thread. These boys have worked hard to get to the playoffs. I think the deserve a little more respect than what some are giving them. I know some may not like Vidor and that is ok, that is their choice, but please dont come here to be negative. This is a predictions thread not a bashing thread. Good luck Pirates and good luck to all our area teams~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~               I went back and reviewed previous threads and fail to see any bonafide Vidor bashing ! I see alot of "my team is better than your team" back and forth stuff going on. Vidor had one post that told Dayton to "stick it " that might be bashing? I didn't see anybody from Dayton complain about it though.  Don't think anyone has anything in particular against the town or the people heck I even have friends that live there.  This is the playoffs and all this stuff is just for fun ! We can take what we dish out so bring it on Vidor and you  better bring  your"A" game because the Bronco's are ready for another deep run this year ----
 13.
El Campo is a primarily a running team also.  They average about 5 attempts per game.  This portion of the bracket shapes up well for a team that can stop the run.
I wonder what team fits that description ?
 14.
???Again no respect, I hope we bet the H___ out of Dayton Saturday.  You people need to grow up and give a town a break, every town has faults and yours is not the exception.  Stick IT. ;D
Your over reacting bad boy this is the playoffs and were not in your district we don't know your team cause you don't make deep runs in the playoffs very often that garners alot of respect. To be fair I have heard that Vidor has a very good team this year and beating you will be no easy task, so good luck and may the best team win ! ~~~ Oh! one more thing we can't give you any respect because we gave it all to Rodney Dangerfield ! :-[
 15.
No way man, Nederland and Vidor always support each other wearing our colors!
No cross dressing allowed - please! :D
 16.
That's what i've been trying to tell you.  Those last 14 years mean nothing.  Why do you Dayton fans keep bringing up the past?   You guys are 2 seeds THIS year.            ??? :P ;)
No! actually we are D11 number one seed in 19A, but then again who cares because we will make another deep run in the playoffs like we always do in spite of mindless smack from the cheap seats!
 17.
Support each other getting ousted in the first round! Nice!...lol
You know your jealous !
 18.

Goodluck Dayton BH is pulling for ya!!! Dayton by 3 TD's
Being BH is playing Friday and Dayton is playing Saturday,I think it would be great if Dayton went to Baytown and supported our neighbors to the south and BH went and supported Dayton on Sat.    All of Dayton who does go to the BH game Friday i hope you wear your purple shirts.and If BH comes to the Dayton game wear your Blue shirts.
Sounds like a plan !
 19. You will see alot of Dayton purple in your corner BH ~~~~ Good luck ! ~~~~~~~~~~

I bet the Dayton folks are smiling...Got a easy bracket..Should be easy regional champs....
Excuse me, I assume this is nothing but a flame post trying to get a rise. Easy path with PNG, Angleton, Yates , El Campo, Brenham, etc. And to the poster who replies it MIGHT be a little over simplification, you are the master of understatement. I am amazed no one else has jumped this clown. Hope all the Dayton fans and players are thinking like that!!
Were not all rookies here bud so forgive me if I didn't take the bait !
 21.

How do you like your path to State? ;D
I will say that the Region 3 D1 bracket is an easier path than the D2 bracket which is loaded with PNG, Angleton, Brenham, Yates, El Campo, etc. D1 has Del Valle, Beaumont Central, Crosby, Dawson, FW. 5 of the top 6 teams in our Region are D2 according to THS. But of course Lake Travis waits on the other side of D1, the two headed monster!
I pick Marshall to be in the Finals !
 22.
Fswood Fan are you saying that you are in the toughest district? Dang that good?
Have to agree with Fswood Fan on this one !
 23.
I bet the Dayton folks are smiling...Got a easy bracket..Should be easy regional champs....
That might be a little over simplification ! but hey thanks anyway.
 24.
Tivy is not a metroplex team... more like centex and it took a amazing strip by AJ Dugat and a last second FG for Dayton to beat them in a very physical ballgame.  Also, I think that if you look in recent years the DFW metroplex gets a lot of hype because they have a lot of talented teams packed very close.  Examples including Southlake Carroll, Allen, Trinity, Birdville, Highland Park, Ennis, Denison, Denton Guyer and Ryan.  Those schools plus the Dallas and FW isd schools (see Carter, Skyline, and Dunbar) tend to produce a ton of D1 guys with speed.  I would say most of your BIG name talent down here comes from a bit closer to the bigger city Katy, Cypress-Spring , FB, Aldine, Alief ect.  to boot in recent years alot of state champs have come out of those places I just named.  Bottom line lager population density = bigger talent pool.  Throw in East-Tex like Lufkin, Tyler and I bet you I could find a pretty good crop of college talent.  Don't believe me checkout UT, A&M, & even OU and OSU's roster.
No one is arguing the fact that D-FW teams are good and so should they be with their dense population. That's why the UIL created D1&D11 classifications and even then theres sometimes as much as 1000 student  difference between top and bottom of some D1&d11 schools if UIL would close that gap you would see a lot more parity in the playoffs. As of now the bigger schools hold the unfair advantage, but that's  where coaching and conditioning come into play some programs are far superior to others no matter what the talent pool is. Hence a little country school like Dayton  could more than hang with all the big Metro schools every year in the p layoffs. Example: Tivy beat C. Steele( big DFW metro school) last year and Steele was the only team that was competitive against Lake Travis in 4a D1 playoffs. All the pollsters picked Tivy to win over Dayton, but they were wrong !  Dayton has two D-1 true freshmen starting for major university's this year and host of other freshmen for smaller colleges-- talent is always delegated to the big boy schools.
 25.

Remains to be seen.Pollsters are biased to Metoplex teams not because they are better because of marketing their product.
no.... they are better. the talent up there is 3 times better!
That's what Tivy said before they ran into Dayton last year ! The best team Dayton faced in the playoffs was the first round Livingston SETX team, the rest were moot except Sulphur Springs .
