  1. 42-14 Vidor I'm not going to put down any numbers now that I've seen both teams play. This could be anyone's ballgame. I just have a hard time seeing Nederland break into the 40's against our defense. Not saying it can't be done, I just don't see it based on what I've seen so far. If our defense plays to full potential, you won't run up the score. That is all I'm saying. And, sorry James, but I don't see how Nederland's defense could hold anyone to 14 points. If we get held to 14, it will be because we fumble it and beat ourselves. Nederland's defensive line looked horrible against Livingston. I don't see that same line containing Reynolds. At all.
  2. What makes you think Nederland can stop Reynolds? Or Peevey? Or Pitman? Or Teinert? Or Dart? What makes you think Ronning is gonna just lay down and die and not sack Bellow several times? Same for Strother. You've only faced one other defense like Vidor's ... Central. And you lost. Don't come in over confident. Obviously you haven't been reading about us...
  3. Lumberton -- 42 LC-M -- 7 I've met Moody and he is a nice guy. But you know the saying about nice guys, right? In 20-4A football, that is the case in north Orange.
  4. Penny, I am not making any bold predictions onj this one except Nederland will not score over 30 against our Defence! we will score at least 30... I gaurantee it!!!! The only question is, can vidor keep up even against a below average defense? Since Reynolds for us is just like Grogan for you, um, I'm gonna say yes. Your defense is gonna have trouble with Reynolds and Peevey. And when they think they have them figured out we'll outrun you with Pitman. If Vidor plays to their caliber this year, we win. If the defense plays to full potential, you'll be lucky to see 21 points.
  5. Funny you should mention Central. The Jags picked up a fumble and ran it in for a touchdown against us. Just score for score on offense, we would have won that game. Their defense won that game for them. We matched up EVENLY with Central on both sides of the ball. I think it is hilarious how people think this will be a high scoring game. Look at your game with Central, and expect the same from us. Watching Livingston guys bounce off Grogan was not a surprise. Watching Livingston get in the backfield and not sack Bellow was not a surprise. But Vidor's defense isn't at all like Livingston. Just ask Lumberton's QB, and prepare to get hit often.
  6. Shayne was sick and is still sick, but he played and scored twice... Kid is a trooper. Thanks for the info, bro.
  7. I heard that Pitman was sick and didn't play tonight. Is this true? I was stuck in Nederland watching a no-defense shootout.
  8. Then it is the Jags game to win if it comes down to defense. Livingston's defense tonight was almost non-existent. But then again, so was Nederland's.
  9. Saw Nederland tonight vs. Livingston. Both teams' defenses were atrocious. It felt like an arena football game. Nederland was having trouble with Quinton Jackson and he isn't near Theron Reynolds' size. Grogan is tough, but doesn't have a lot of speed. It may take a couple of guys to bring him down, but if we hit him early and hang on Nederland will have to go to the air. Cardenas was the only person that really impressed me. But Bellow was having trouble getting the ball in his receiver's hands at times. With the way Livingston was getting in the backfield, number 77 should pick up some nice trick or treats in the form of sacks. Defense should play to our advantage. Cardenas and the YAC should play to Nederland's advantage. Running game should play to our advantage. But, anything can happen. Should be a good game.
  10. If I remember correctly, Lumberton almost made the playoffs in 2001 or 2002. All they had to do was beat one team in the last game of the season. Who was that again? J/K! But seriously, Lumberton has had some winning seasons. Just because a team does not make the playoffs does not mean that they lost a majority of their games.
  11. LC-M always plays us tough, butI think that if we control the ground game and keep the fumbling to a minimum (hopefully zilch), we should come out on top. But anything can happen. The boys can't go in overconfident. Hold onto the ball and beat up the defensive front, and we shouldn't have a problem.
  12. In keeping with raideroldtimer: Raiders tear up PN-G's new turf
  13. Ya know That is funny ..because the defense has not give up as many points as our offense ,,,,the offense has had 12 turnovers in 2 games 5 for touchdowns ......let our defense get some rest and they will be able to be a little tougher through the whole game......... The defense was considered questionable from the beginning of the season. That is why I said that. Oh, by the way, just tell your punt returner that if it rolls inside the 10 yard line DON'T PICK IT UP!!!! I know that you guys must have been cringing on that play.
  14. Our greatest games (during my school days and upward) 1991: Beat WO-S 28-24. This was back in the 5A days (which we were in during my four years in high school) and beating WO-S was the only win that season. You would have thought we won the Super Bowl the way the town reacted. 1994: 42-35 over PN-G. It was the most points we had scored all season and only our second win. And, you knew this was coming... 2006: 28-24 (there is that score again. LOL!) over Nederland. Why Neuman did not send Mosley around the end I guess we'll ever know. Stuffed him at the line. Franklin to Walker and a good dose of Croak had Nederland's defensive coordinators scratching their heads in the second half.

  16. For some reason, I thought that the driver's license age had been raised from 16 to 18 in Texas a few years ago. Thanks for the info. Wisely spoken, 13. I agree. And with that, I believe I have said enough on this subject and will say no more.
  17. Ummm, unless you know that to be the absolute truth (which no one does at this time) then actually what you are saying is a very huge assumption. The boys are innocent until proven guilty by a jury in a court of law. That is how our system is set up and it should remain that way. I hope to God that you are not picked for the jury if you are already that biased based on your emotion for the alledged "victim." Believe me, her lawyer will look for people who are thinking like you. And I realize that teenagers drive. But don't they have to have an adult in the car at 16? Maybe not, but I thought that in Texas that was a requirement now. Things have changed since we were kids.
  18. If they do, it will give everyone in this area a clearer picture on how tough they really are. I think the Bulldogs win by 10 or less.
  19. Wow---concern for the team? don't you think that is misplaced to say the least? Misplaced? I believe it's a valid question. I know Roundtree was their top downfield WR. He will be missed on the field for sure. Valid--maybe--- but at best terribly innapprpriate and at worst disgusting----players were charged with sexual assult of someones daughter, sister, etc---the concern should go to the victim only----IF guilty the perps will rot in heck I think that he meant that it is a valid question because this is a SPORTS message board, not a blog on social commentary. My question would be does the football player turned witness have an agenda. Was he second string and might possibly be making his path to start easier by naming names and getting them off the team. The girl didn't even know who the boys were, supposedly. quite a stretch Maybe. But an investigative reporter worth his salt, who knows that there are two-sides to every story, would already be asking these type questions. The fact that they haven't been asked makes me proverbially weep for our media outlets. Another question would be why she went into a room with three guys, her being the only girl to do so. Was this typical behavior? Was she dating any of the three boys at the time? If so, had either he or she been talking about a potential break-up? A good investigative reporter would have already asked her colleagues these things. Believe it or not, these things happen. And if a newspaper can find out in one day that the hose where the party was held had a history of drug related incidents, wouldn't there have been talk about town of these things. Why didn't the father know where his daughter was. He is so vocal to the media, but why haven't they asked if he was the one to drop er off or not? If not, why didn't he? Did he not know about the house in the community? Did he give his daughter a curfew? Did he think she was with friends? Investigative reporting, people. If I can think of these questions it is sad that the media can't. a girl dropped off at a party is not to blame for being raped--IF it happened--niether is a father to blame for someone raping his daughter---I do not need Wayne Docifino to tell me that No, a father is not to blame for his daughter being raped -- if she really was -- but he would be to blame for dropping his daughter off at ahouse where questionable things had happened in the past -- if he knew about it. Did he? I guess we'll never know the way this is being so sloppily reported on. Investigative reporting does not attack the alledged "victim" like so many people think. If done properly, it does help clear the mud and get all the facts. Our media outlets are not doing it and seem happy to let the boys be demonized and assumed guilty by the general public before a trial. That is not ethically acceptable for any form of media -- TV, print, or radio.
  20. I've heard NFL game commentators say the same thing. If the hold is on the outside it is usually called. A hold in the middle of the line is not as easily seen and they can usually get away with it. At least that is the way I have heard it explained before. Ref, feel free to correct me. ;D
  21. Ozen does know how to capitalize on the other team's mistakes. (How well we know that. ;D ) If Central doesn't commit turnovers, Jags by two or more touchdowns.

  23. The only chance PN-G will have is to step up defensively, stop the run, and force Lumberton to throw. But since defense has been a question for them all year, I don't see it happening...
