BTW, I think you know my sister Kim Rose (married to Darwin Brack).
I just met her this weekend. I disagree that the writing was on the wall. He always intended to leave if he didn't get the head job. Those words from his mouth to my ears. He told me that right after he applied and long before any decision was to be made.
Dont know much about the situation but it never hurts a coach to have worked at different places before he gets an AD job. Kinda pads the resume I guess.
im very surprise with the reaction of some of our mustang fans...were are 3-3 on the year and 1-0 in district...so the sky is not falling...of course we are having offensive issues...but what everyone needs to understand is change is never easy...we lost a coach who had been at wos for 30 years...u dont just replace someone like that overnight...cornel thompson is a great coach and i beleive he is the right man for the job of the mustang head coach right now.. but he is not dan hooks...that era is over..wonderful memories of that era but its over and we have to move on. if we just keep living in the past we will never see in the present and what we have to work on right now...coach hooks had some pretty first tough years at wos too..my parents tell me how when we went 3-7 in 83 everyone was ready to run coach hooks out of town..but he persevered and thank goodness the school district didnt get rid of him...also new OC, toby was a great offensive coordinator but he has moved on to another school...regardless of the circumstances as to why he left..he is not at wos anymore and thats the bottom line..we have to move on also... i think, IMO, that the mustangs are just going thru some growing pains...its unfortunate but we have to go thru them..how we respond to the pressure is what will decide if we are going to continue to be great or just become like any ordinary football team out there...give cornel thompson a chance to build on whats already a great program and give him a chance to leave his own mark of greatness that we can be proud of when we look back in the years to come.
I believe Nederland is in 1st in 20-4a.
I think that was a compliment to WOS.
Yes that is exactly how I meant it. Nederland is a quality team.
I can name two good things came out of this game for WOS. #1. If you tackel the other team too hard you will get a 15 yard penilty. So don`t tackel too hard. #2. #13 Da`Carlos Renfro was a phenomenal. I would keep him in the O-backfield all night long.
;D ;D -
Chase Rutledge isn't ready for varsity, I don't even know why he was moved up. The QB should be Jamarcus Rhodes, he's a much better QB than both of them and Renfro did well at QB the few times they put him there. That's one area the changes need to be made. Also a few on the OL needs to go. There are some on the JV that are better players.
Your right the oline is struggling and no doubt the line will be better next year but one must remember those jv players are blocking jv players. -
first off my hats off to the HF coaching staff getting there kids ready for this game the kids from HF did a outstanding job played with alot of heart and pride.now then let me add this that the snap over the punters head was a (SMART) coaching move it was planned that way guys.early in this game wo-s lost ther key linebacker out for all the game that to me was a BIG blow to the mustangs chain gang thay never looked the same after he went out. now lets talk about lindsey he had NO place to run in the middle most of the night then someone up stairs in the press woke up hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe he will do better on the sweep and you saw what happned it WORKED.ok now in closeing i do agree with you that a chang (MUST) be made in the backfield i dont think it will hurt at all .PS all of you there did you see after interceped the young QB went to the sideline and the OC did not even come over to talk with this young kid just let him stand there and say anything to him THIS IS SUPER BAD SORRY FOR THE SPELLING
Skip your right that the oc didnt come talk to him but did you see the coach with his arm around Jimmy after the play talking with him? -
The key is our offensive line. They just aren't playing well and haven't been. Even last week against K-Ville, we had success throwing, but never really established anything on the ground and if 43 isn't in there we do next to nothing. People talk about schemes etc, but our offensive line has only one kid back from last season (and this year he is playing both ways) and they are still struggling to find their identity. Every game it seems they are playing in different spots trying to find the right fit. No matter what offense you run, if you can't block you aren't going to have success.
I believe you nailed it with this. One does not realize how valuable the oline is until thier gone. -

O line has got to improve they could not only not run the ball but there was alot of QB pressure. -
Skipper, I thought I saw you at the KV game Friday night but it sounds like you must have not watched the game. The regular kicker, Jerquis "BEASLEY", #86 and Britton Lindsey #43, were on the side-line, not in uniform. The new kicker and new QB are both Freshman. They both looked good in the game.
Correct, I said he was injured last week guess I should have said injured and didnt dress last week. -

They did'nt get the full benefit of the PN G fans cause the visitors stands in Livingston are so small. Bulldogs win it..no score prediction just know that the dogs will win.
Maybe 9 screaming fans.. the rest just sit there like its a funeral.. of course I am being a little exaggerated but thats what it feels like. I hate having to yell at fans to get on their feet to make some noise. makes me feel like im a lunatic..
Why do you feel that you must yell at people to get on thier feet and scream when they paid the same ticket price you did? Maybe they just enjoy watching the game and letting the cheerleaders lead the cheers. Should be a great game! -

Pretty sure the varsity coaches are working 7 days a week very little time to go out on Sat. and watch the little guys. Wish yall much luck and keep up the good work I think coaches realize yall are helping. Thanks again for your hard work and dedication. -
I would like to see the Bears get those tall big bodied recievers more involved and that would open up that run game a little more.jmo
