godogs you said a poster said God turned his back on our nation, post said we turned our back on God . btw ,its not a diety, like one of many He is the diety.  some people are just broke, if violence is in there mind there is nothing to stop this, to predict when or where one sick person might act in such a manner. pray for mercy, forgiveness, peace and strive to keep our children safe and morally sound. teach your kids to be gun safe, careful when driving-not texting, these things too can kill,  2,500 hundred such cases in texas this year related to deaths. imo, God is not punishing children for our narrow views and or lack of values, rendering judgement on the innocent, not that he wouldnt be just in judging those who have forsaken the laws of this christian nation and of His word, but the broke , sick minded people, lost without God commit such cowardice acts of their own free will. no religious or political debate by this post just a view of one that is concerned  for the future of our children, families ,friends and nation, Jesus forgive and bless us all
2.
Why would anybody subject their kid to the beating that kids take in football all year round. Football is not a sport that should be played all year. A kids body is not developed to do that. They need time to heal their bodies not keep beating it down and possibly cause some major health issues at a very young age. My son plays but ounce the season is over it's on to basketball and baseball. Those of you who put their kids through the beating they take in football all year round are living vicariously through their son for something the parent may not have accomplished when they were young in my opinion.
Yep, year round football is a bad idea!
 3. Congrats Eagles on a great season!
 4. Not soundin good for the Eagles!
 5. The guy that killed earlier this week stole the gun he used, these guns were registered to killers mother who is also dead so maybe he stole them from her!
 6. Holding people responsible for their actions instead of being worried about how they were misreated as a child and and letting the pc police run amok. Wouldnt hurt to have a hangin on the town square and let people know whats in store for them when they needlessly hurt others! JMO!
 7. And those kids from Newton have done a great service to McNeese State and other colleges and they know they can make it to college through hard work on the field in some cases the only way they will get to attend!
 8. My kids were raised to believe you work for what you get and hard work is how you earn it! And yes I get it!  You just keep handing out your trophies!jmo
 9.
If parents are shopping their kids around to be great athletes and looking for turf and jumbotrons to assess the quality of enrolling their kids there, they have no idea what makes a great athlete. Every GREAT athlete I ever knew, God made them. And the truly great ones worked their butts off to get better. You cannot make a great running back out of a kid that runs a 5.0 40. I don't care how many turf fields you put him on. Now, any athlete can enhance their abilities with hard work, determination, coaching, and support from their parents. And to say that Carthage( as an example) has seen it's success due to turf field and community support to buy a jumbo tron, shows how much someone really knows about what it takes to make a team. And I am not missing the point. The point is I do not believe there are massive numbers of people shopping their kids around for athletic purposes. I do not believe turf fields and jumbo trons make programs successful. I do believe economic growth brings not only these things but influx of people and numbers of children which brings with that the talent of those kids. The more kids to choose from, the more natural talent to choose from. Couple this with good coaching and community support and success might follow.
Well said!
 10.
Just saw a stat that blew my mind. The qb for navasota has 53 tds and just 8 ints. Can someone verify if that is correct.
Believe thats right he had 2 against WOS so I think its prob. 10 which is awesome. Kids got a cannon!
 11. Sounds just like wealth redistribution!  The govt. loves doin that!
 12.
Great Job men To all of you . You all deserve it. you all worked very hard all year for this . All of the names are in the Orange Leader I didnt want to copy it . Not sure if that was ok to do
Yes congrats it is also on KOGT.
 13.
They were neccesary, but you would not have pushed for them is what I am assuming from your last statement.  That is the difference between the rest of the state and SETX.
If it means losing teachers you are correct. I never said I woulnt like these things I'am just being practicle. I would love all that. I could move to the Lake Travis school district and pay about 3 times what I pay in taxes now and have all the frills but I really cant afford that right now, my point is if you cant afford it then its probably not practicle! Visited a Katy Seven Lakes hs once to do a workshop. The building was brand new and it looked like a college campus very nice. Needed a projector and for 25 teachers in one dept.they had 2 projectors. Now whats the point of all the frills if you cant equip it to satisfy the need of the students and teachers.
 14.
You did not answer my question 77.  Do you think that WOS made a bad investment on there new elementary and track and LCM on there jumbo?
No I think they were both neccesary but can they afford them we will see!
 15. The biggest part of the video screen at LCM which was one of the first in the district was mostly paid for with company donations.(and boy did that draw a lot of big time transfers not) The schools in that district are in horrible conditon, thats what should be repaired not giant stadiums. Orange recently annexed part of LCM community to broaden their tax base because Orange is dead and everything down town is either a museum theater or a church which arent taxed. Iwould love for everyone to have a billion dollar stadium and complex but it all boils down to math and knowstomuch is an excellant example of why math teachers need a raise!
 16.

WOS has one of the older stadiums around but its still one of the best in my book for watching games big stands great parking lots of room! Giant video board not needed!jmo
Once again, OFCOURSE ITS NOT NEEDED, but wouldn't it be a nice upgrade to get say field turf.  Did you think the track was needed?
Sure it would but my point is that the places that are building these big complexes are booming

 18.

I would rather spend money on quality teachers to teach my children how to read and write. I'll worry about the football season last.  I think if your child is good enough to play at the next level he will.
Unfortunately it goes together. School that have the willingness to spend that kind of money are also going to have the best teachers. Teachers would rather work at Barbers Hill than Evadale I promise. We all know why. You say you'd rather spend money on teachers..we're not even doing that.
BISD has one of the nicest facilities around hows that workin for them? But I will agree with you on the teachers and coaches pay but not nessesarly all the fluff!
 19. I've probably paid more taxes in the last 5 yrs. than both of yall put together (maybe not) but my point is you cannot build these complexes on the backs of residents you have to have a very broad tax base. And I've probably donated more of my time to different programs than most! Sounds like the kids you support need to buy into a program and be willing to work for pride  and an oppertunity to be a winner, who knows might do them some good to work out outside some !jmo
 20.

If your asking if I want a tax increase for turf I say no!
Oh yea, I almost forgot.  People like 77 are also the reason why SETX are behind the rest of the state in athletic facilities.
When a location is not growing like SETX is not growing you will not have the tax base. Drive through Georgetown or Roundrock or Humble or the Woodlands and look how many bussinesses there are  thats what builds nice complexes its not cities like Orange  that are dying and have no tax base!
 21. I have not seen Bellville play but they better bring their A-game because Navasota is good!
