Herbert could definitely take over a game on offense and defense. I really hate it for the young man that he missed this season. Herbert in the backfield with his brother and McMillan is almost unstoppable. Hopefully we get to see it next season as all of them return.

No joke on the rain. Diboll has a grass field and to be honest..we have not been very good on wet grass ( Liberty and Coldspring ).

Man I am kicking myself right now. I almost went and covered this game just in case they pulled it off. I would have loved to have captured the reactions on film. That moment can never be recreated. Congrats Huntington!!!

Wow...144-0 between the District’s top two teams. Man it sure would be nice to see a low scoring defensive game next week...but I don’t think that will happen.

Diboll dominated the majority of the first half. This game was a good test for the Diboll secondary as Crockett threw the ball 43 times for 253 yards and 4 TDs. Diboll DBs had trouble holding contain on busted and extend plays. Crockett has some athletes with big play ability that will give teams trouble. I do think a solid safety would hold their big plays in check though as Diboll dropped several picks.

Elkhart(1-0) @ Franklin(1-0) homecoming 3ad1 dist 11

Elkhart has to feel good about the W over Westwood but unfortunately they will more than likely get it handed to them Friday night. Franklin will score early and often. -
LIVINGSTON AT HUNTINGTON BROADCAST/TONIGHT AT 7:00!

Good for Huntington, but I do feel bad for Coach V. I have seen coach Vanover build a program so Livingston is certainly not done long term. -

Good matchups in this District tonight. The OF/Buna and Woodville/EC matchups could have playoff seeding implications because I believe these are the 4 teams that will represent the District.

You are correct. 40-20 was the score. Newton faired well passing the ball that game. Barlow got his yards but Diboll did defend the run pretty good considering Newton’s pedigree. In all honesty though, the Newton team I saw later in the playoffs would have smashed my Lumberjacks and the team that beat us out of the playoffs.

Defending a well run Slot T offense the first game of the season is always tough so I would expect BC to have their moments. Overall though I think Diboll will be too much in this one.
-
Diboll will have a couple of nice speedster type wide outs but I wouldn’t consider any of them standouts at the moment. Monroy was a huge loss on D so I would expect Herbert Gums to move from DE to MLB. They also have two other kids that return from last years LB squad that will be solid against the run. Overall I believe the defense will be pretty good against the run which will serve them well in 3A.

Diboll will open up the season against Bridge City. Bridge City comes in with a new HC so it will be interesting to see how they respond and if the offense changes much with their returning QB. Diboll brings back two bruising RBs and key linemen that will be the key to their success this season.

They typically start out hot each year. Got some good tourneys coming up that will test them. Looking good so far though.

Atlanta is pretty salty on offense but I'm not sure their D will hold up against Jasper. Jasper takes this one.
-
Diboll has a shot in this game if they can reach their offensive average. Going to be physical for sure. Although I do expect both coaches to dig into the playbook and pull out some risk/reward plays since both teams are a lock in the playoffs.
