Going by your stats…. Whites are 62% of the population and commit 60% of the mass shootings. Statistically it is about the same percentage as the population. Blacks are 12% of the population yet commit 18% of mass shootings. That is 50% higher than their population. So by your stats, Blacks are 50% more likely to commit mass shootings based on race. Based on population, which is what I said in my previous comment, Whites committing the most mass shootings is a myth. Thanks for your own statistics proving my point.

DC mayor said that carjackings are down 87% from the same period last year and 15% overall from the same period. However…. People are afraid to go to work because of the presence of the National Guard and takeover of the police is scaring them while crime is significantly down. Then, the city council got mad at her for bringing up the statistics. 🤣

By total numbers but not by percentage of the population. Let’s say one group has 50 people and 5 commit a particular crime. Another group has 10 people and 3 commit the same crime. The first group has almost twice as many crimes committed. The first group by percentage of the population is at 10% but the second group is at 30% or three times more likely to commit a particular crime. That holds true with mass shooters. By ethnicity the least likely to commit a mass shooting offense is Latino. By race the most likely to commit a mass shooting offense is Black. As you said, not that it matters in a particular incident but as compared to population it is a myth that a mass shooter is more likely White. Total number? Yes as Whites make up a majority of the population and more than all other groups combined. As a percentage of the population? No.
