  1. Lumberton brought a pretty good traveling crowd in the rain.
  2. Nederland and Lumberton trade punts. Lumberton getting hammered with self inflicted penalties. Because of the young team perhaps?
  3. After a fumble recovery at the Lumberton 21, 21 yard touchdown run. Hubert Thomas with 3 touchdown runs for 121 yards.
  4. 42 yard Nederland touchdown
  5. Supply and demand = greed?
  6. We have no real answers for the case yet but that is often a recurring theme.
  7. That is why I don’t usually comment. Sometimes I want to use the laughing emoji at some stupid comments but then people think that I am laughing at a family member being killed. Even if completely lawful I would never laugh at a family’s loss. Some comments are screaming to be called out though. In one interview with the family on local media, a family member said that the deceased did have a chainsaw and it was “on”, etc. Then in the comments a couple of people said, there was no chainsaw. Okay, the family member who was mad at the police, lied in order to agree with them? As with Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO… all of the claims of hands up-don’t shoot, turned out to be “I heard”. Rumors become facts and facts become false accusations.
  8. Lumberton might not look good on paper but it isn’t a spelling bee. They might come in with a chip on their shoulder with nothing to lose and make a game of it. Certainly Nederland could make easy work of the Raiders but I am never so confident of predictions, especially early in the season.
  9. When my partner (that you certainly know) had to use deadly force, the bogus claims came out almost immediately. It was all caught on two cameras and anyone viewing it could see that the claims were complete nonsense. That doesn’t stop the claims.
  10. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
  11. There weren’t very many penalties on either team. They played 6 quarters with the last 2 being game conditions. In this scrimmage Nederland held the ball for a quarter, starting at their own 35. If there was a turnover then the ball went back to the 35 and they started over. Then WB did the same for a quarter. Then they did the exact same again and without a roster, I am assuming it was mostly swapping out players. So 4 quarters were each team holding onto the ball for an entire quarter. Neither team scored. Nederland did get to a first and goal at the 2 of WB but fumbled to WB on the first play so back to the 35 to start over. WB got deep in Nederland territory like maybe down to the 20 but they were called back on one of the few penalties. After those 4 quarters of swapping possessions they played 2 more quarters of game conditions except for kickoffs and punts. They would do the kickoffs and punts but with no return allowed. Nederland scored twice in the game simulation. It was a decent scrimmage for both teams. Nederland probably had a more stout defense against the WB offense than vice versa.
  12. Yep. It’s a chance to practice hitting someone other than yourselves and trying people out in positions in game like conditions. But it’s football and the first glimpse of this year’s team under a new head coach. 👍🏼
  13. He turned himself in.
  14. Tomorrow we will get to see something on the field….
  15. I am reasonably certain that she is singing like a canary. Everyone can come up with pretty much the same scenario She had a boyfriend so he was probably the love in her life at that moment. Not only did the husband kill the boyfriend, he apparently made her fire a few rounds into his body also. Talk about terrorizing her (assuming that’s what happened) by forcing her to shoot a guy that she was having a relationship with. Then forcing her to help dump the guy’s body. Maybe the surprising part is him letting her go… if that’s what happened. So from his perspective, his wife is separated from him (deductive reasoning) and is probably living with another guy, he committed Capital Murder (Murder during a Burglary) and Kidnapping and if caught he will never walk the Earth as a free man again. His woman he loved left him, he committed a capital offense and will never be free again, so his life is effectively over. He might be arrested without incident or even go down in a blaze of glory. It would not shock me however if he has no longer on this Earth and no one will see him alive again.
  16. It could be…. Capital Murder can be more than one death in a single incident (like here) OR a child under 10 years old (like here). In Texas life begins at conception so killing an unborn child is Capital Murder. (except as a medical procedure) Depending on the evidence, murder during a kidnapping is Capital Murder. (and a few other things)
  17. The article twice says he was charged with first degree capital murder. So is it first degree murder or capital murder?
  18. It’s an even wilder case than I thought after getting some details.
  19. No kidding…. 😳
