1. Go out there on a real low tide. Then you will have a healthy respect for the hazards and also see where they are.

I guess blame the messenger is in full force. The rule might be stupid but it is the rule. If other coaches are doing it them photo them. I don't know if the coaches violated the rules but they certainly appeared to be doing so. That is why they call it an "investigation" and not a conviction. Maybe they have valid reasons for being there within the rules. Blaming the UIL and the reporter seems lame.
Power hungry grown men following around 7 on 7 teams, taking pictures, seems lame to me.  If he was so interested, why didn't he get out of the car and go ask them what they were up to?  Staking out high school kids in a hotel parking lot to show that they might have been breaking UIL rules?  Are you seriously going to defend that?  If they had been selling cocaine, he'd have had a story.  This isn't a story.
If there is no story then it should end quickly with no action. I don't need to defend reporters. A reporter is there to get people to read the articles. It sure looks like this one was a success. When there are threads on other internet sites, it looks like he did his job. I notice that people are addressing the reporter and not the title of the thread. It s like I said in my other post, people are deflecting the issue not to the rules but to the person that reported it. Out of curiosity, if it is true, what is the penalty? If a school has already been sanctioned, do they lose any playoffs that year? It is double secret probation? Does the head coach have to not be on the sidelines for the first five games? What happens if the UIL finds that the accusations are true? Do they blame it on the accuser or do they take action?

 5.
Me and my brother recently went to umphrey pier and of the shore of Keith lake, fished live bait and had little to no luck (with the exception of some hard heads). Anyone having better luck anywhere else? P.S we do not have access to a boat
All in timing and conditions. A location might have a bunch of people catching limits in a short time and the next day at the same time have people catching nothing or hardheads.
 6. All that I use out there for that kind of fishing is steel but I use braided steel with nylon coating.
 7. When I go for big reds and sharks, I pull up very close to the jetty wall (outside) and toss dead shrimp for bait. That is not for the reds/sharks but for the small croaker/drum/piggies to catch the reds/sharks. Use a small hook like a size 6 with a small (1/8 or 1/4) weight and a small piece of pealed shrimp. You can actually toss up on a flat rock and drag it back into the water. The small fish are up close. If you get too far out from the jetties, you get into a bunch of hardheads. Stay in close. Then I hook the bait fish either through the lips or pretty far back on the tail. I like it through the lips to keep them alive longer. Toss it out away from the jetty wall and hang on. The last time I took someone out that wanted to catch reds and sharks, in about 3 hours we landed about 8 reds and four sharks. I think we kept three reds for the grill and a couple of sharks. When I pull up close to the jetties, I toss an anchor between a couple of rocks out of the water. That way I can get the anchor back. If you drop an anchor out from the jetty wall, you might see it for the last time. I'll bet there are thousands of anchors out there (of which about 3 are mine). Once you get that anchor out, back away from the wall slowly and then toss a mushroom anchor out the back. Get it far enough away from the wall itself and you likely won't be in the rocks. When I fish that way, I put about a 3 or 4oz sinker directly on the line (let is slide) and then tie a leader and a large hook, like maybe a 5/0. I also sharpen the hooks to a razor sharp edge. I make my own leaders and usually don't make them very long, maybe 24". I crimp the hook to one end and a big barrel swivel to the other. Toss the line out, take up the slack and then set the clicker and leave it on free spool. Then sit back and wait .. many times not for very long.

 11.
I went this afternoon and spent time running from rain, but when we fished, it was pretty slow except for the flounder on the shoreline.  Tons of bait in the water from Blue Buck and up further north, but not many trout.  Gonna be really tough after the front comes through.  Think I would go after flounder.
I saw some pictures from a friend who guides on Sabine Lake and he has been running that area. He said that there have been quite a few wade fishermen killing the large trout there lately but the conditions needed to be right. With these last two days of winds and cold front blowing through, it probably won't be a good time to try. I should pick up soon though.

 13.
Well, I've fished the last couple weekends and the stiff east wind is winning the battle...:(
Fishing is best with wind from the west but fishing is least with wind from the east. ..or so goes the old saying.
 14. Glow chartreuse Cocahoe Minnow.

 16. If not, upload it to youtube and post the link.
 17.
I have a short video of hundreds of reds schooling under the lights last night.  If anybody knows how to post it, send me a call number
I have done it on photobucket on other forums. I upload the video to my folder just like other photo.
 18.
So what is the best way to cook tilapia?
An oldie but goodie...... Coat both sides well with butter and then add salt, pepper, paprika, finely chopped parsley and garlic powder to taste. Cover with thinly sliced red onions. Place it on a cedar plank and bake next an open fire for 20 minutes. Then throw away the fish and eat the board.
 19.
Best fish to eat is by far crappie (white perch). Nothing comes close!
Case closed. We can now shut down the thread. :D
 20.
Why is there so much discussion about one hit batter. By the look of the score it looks like Ned could have hit a couple of more and still not change the out come of the game. It's even better to be a Bulldog
I don't think the question was about changing the outcome. It was a question about a rule of the game.
 21.
Why are you holding it soooo far out in front of you?
It's not far out. It is a 28 pound bass.
 22. ... and I thought it was going to be a good game. Silly me.
 23.
There were just a few lower units damaged but several got stuck in the shallows. ...and yes, it's all about money.
I would hate to think that they are driving $100,000 bass boats, with $100,000 pickups burning thousands of dollars in gasoline for the love of bass fishing. They can do that a heck of a lot cheaper near their homes.
 24.
Where does the Sabine River come anywhere near Friendswood and Lake Arthur?
Not near but you can get there by water from the Orange boat ramp. Lake Arthur is by far the closest and about a 30-40 minute run by boat.
