So are the guys that aren't into it for "sport", just into it for the meat? If so, why spend so much money on tackle, bait (live or artificial), gas to get to and from, maybe a boat, etc., and just go to the local market and buy fresh fish?  ;D In truth we are all into it for sport but what we see as sporting or fun differs from person to person. I fly fish and bow hunt as my preferred methods of taking game and fish. That won't stop my from using any and all legal methods but my preference is to make it feel like I am making it harder or taking more skill. As an example, while shooting a deer at 300 yards with a rifle at a deer under a feeder might not be what some call "hunting", what is it called when you throw artificial lures into a school of fish that will hit practically anything and get a limit in 10 minutes? Is that really "fishing"? High fence/low fence, artificial/live, close/far, land/boat or whatever. I say that if you like it and are enjoying the great outdoors, good deal.

[/quote] Let's say you have a 120" scored deer that has a 15" spread. If you increase that spread to a very impressive 20", you only made your score 125". The 20" rack looks more impressive (maybe way more impressive) but the actual score doesn't change much or from a 120-125". Tine length and number and mass is what really adds the score up.

I use wide gap for almost everything including live shrimp, usually 2/0.

Looks like Toups needs to revise his Power Rankings again. It seems like only one team in the top 8 is still playing.

I thought Dayton's 400 fans last week was kind of thin but that might be twice as much as Conally.

It has two ramps and has a small canal that has an outlet into the lake. It is almost completely blocked from the current and wind. About three weeks ago we hit quite a few reds about 100 yards off of the south levee in Sabine Lake, maybe about in the middle. There were lots of school sized specks and quite a few good size sand trout. I think the bird action has been weak the last few days.

I have no clue what is happening in Dayton but in any endeavor, the help of a more experienced person is only welcome when sought. There is a difference between "asking" for help and interference. Is that happening in Dayton? I don't know and I really don't care. They aren't my team and that is for that school district to deal with. I do know that if I took over as manager a company or the head coach of a team, I don't want the previous manager or head coach telling me how he would handle it unless I asked.
