1. ::) More like a penny worth but I won't quibble on the cost.
 2.

I do get what you are saying but I don't see the big deal. During the late anterless/spike season, it says that there can be no branched horns. Is that good enough for you or do you want to keep quibbling over semantics?
I just figured it out..Tvc must be a woman, wont quit untill she has the last word
No but does that mean you just tried to get in the last word?  :D

 4. No reason to get in a snit. The quote that I posted ("For the purposes of this report, the term "spikes" includes all deer with at least one unbranched antler.") came directly from the Parks and Wildlife website. Maybe I should call them up and have them remove that quote. You can call it a spike, no more than one point or an unbranched antler. Out of curiosity, how would you describe the difference between "no more than one point" and an "unbranched antler"?
 5. I don't see a lot of complaining about the 10 run rule in high school baseball.
 6.

And yet another spike bites the dust.
I know you are way smarter than most on this web site but, that is not a spike.. Just a deer with an unbranched antler
According to state law, having at least one unbranched antler is a spike. This from the Texas Parks and Wildlife website: "For the purposes of this report, the term "spikes" includes all deer with at least one unbranched antler." In different places in the code it is referenced at both a spike and a deer with at least one unbranched antler. The terms are interchangeable. Now if you want to talk about the common use of the term by Texas deer hunters, it usually means one horn on both sides.
 7.
Guess the Pirates tough pre-distrct schedule just wore em down!
;D Three games against H-F, three against Community Christian  and two against Sabine Pass would wear anybody down.
 8.
It is true you have to adjust to the officials because you have no other choice.   But your statement just completely threw the UIL rule book out the window and allowed the official to call the game the way he wanted......................
Not really. It is no different than two baseball umpires calling a different game at the plate. One might call it tight and one might call it wide. Both know the rules and both believe they are going by the rules. It is a judgment on what is outside, what is low, etc. There are some rules like stepping on a line is out of bounds that are clear cut. There are others that are judgment calls and a player needs to play the way that ref is calling it. It is not the matter of throwing out the rules but what one guy sees.
 9. Is there a surplus of refs available? If you start knocking off the ones that are here now, are there quality refs ready to step in? If there are a lot of refs waiting for a chance, no problem. If there are not, big problem. I am not minimizing the problem but like most things, it is a supply and demand deal. If you start basing pay of some formula, what happens then? If a guy gets a "D" for poor calling, does he get $10 for the next game? How many refs are going to drive an hour or more round trip and run up and down the court and get booed for $10? The bottom line is that you can come up with any grading system or pay system that you wish but if so, you had better have that big supply of good refs waiting in the wings for the demand that you are about to create otherwise your supply is going to hit zero.
 10. Someone can call a game(s) anything that they wish. What makes me wonder about this Havoc business is this..... Beaumont has the Beaumont Bowl but it involves all three public high schools from Beaumont. Likewise, there are only two high schools in Mid-County and they have Mid-County Madness. How many public schools are in Hardin County and how do you single out two of them? Are the others just left on the side of the road?
 11. ....... and avoiding the ice cubes.
 12.
Been looking for a good working Gatlin Gun. TVC got one?
Not yet. I used to have a Galil machine gun that I carried for a few years and that was fun but alas, it is gone also.
 13. I will add this.. I would stay away from anything from Wildview be it a rangefinder or a game camera. They are unbelievably low priced and there is a reason. They don't work. Actually they work well at times and at other times are a piece of junk. It is a complete guess if you are going to get the about 50% of them that work off of the shelf. They sell their game cams for about $45 at Walmart when other brands in the same range run about $150 or more. They have a rangefinder that is $99. I am not all for spending $1,000 for an item when a $200 will work about 95% as good. I hate to spend $100 though for a product that is 10% as good.
 14. Looking at prices and reviews, it appears that the Redfield Ranger 550 might be a good one. For about $175 it is one of the cheapest out there with good reviews. There are others in that price range but that one seems to have people liking it better. I might try to find one in the off season and check it out.
