Too many of the sportsmen have been out hunting. I haven't heard any reports from my usual sources. With deer season winding down, I need to get ready to fish again.

Penalty for "Giving Him the Business"

Yes it is. It can also be called "working him over" or "givin' it to him". -
What's the best .22 for under $400?

Ruger for popularity, availability of parts and the ability to customize. -
Sometimes? Sometimes Most times.

How did you figure that one out? Nothing against Charles but if nobody can score on you, it doesn't take 45 points to win a game. No team has scored more than 10 points on Dayton since Charles took over except LC-M (woohoo, 13 points) and I suspect that was after the second team came in for Dayton. In the last 6 games, they have given up 24 points. With the defense giving up an average of 4 points a game, I think that I could quarterback Dayton to a win.

Time for LTrain posts to cease......

That is a lot of demanding for someone that has been on the boards for a week. Here is a clue, if you don't like reading about Lumberton, skip their threads and posts. Otherwise, let them post what they want. I don't like reading much about Lumberton either..... so I don't read their threads. It's really not that hard. -
It's the old argument of is the MVP the best player or the person that was actually the most valuable to his team. I think Dayton's strength this year and especially with the way the season progressed, is in the Bronco's defense. I think that Dayton's offense could probably put 14 points up in any game and win and almost certainly 21 would get it. Even in the loss to Lumberton, it was a last second touchdown that even allowed Lumberton to score otherwise Dayton would have tossed another shutout. With that, is any one player on the Bronco's offense really that valuable to his team? I think Dayton wins no matter who the offensive leader is. Lumberton on the other hand, would not have won at all if they didn't have Hussey rushing with the ball in my opinion. Take him out, Lumberton is still a good team but not one that makes the playoffs and goes three games deep. There are better players in the district than Hussey but who is the most valuable to his team? Maybe Gregory Charges for the Offensive Player of the Year and Hussey for MVP. I am sure that Dayton's and Lumberton's unbiased fans will have something to say about that. ;D

You might want to try a bolt action Winchester Wildcat 22. I haven't shot the newer model but I have shot some of the older Windchester .22's and they are tack drivers. I like to shoot my Marlin 60 semi-auto. It is accurate but I don't think it can match the Winchester. I have a couple of old Mossberg .22, both bolt and semi-auto. There are very accurate but I don't know about their newer models. I like the looks of that Winchester Wildcat 22. It is a bolt action with a 10 round magazine. If you are trying to teach accuracy, the bolt action keeps a kid from blowing away ammo. I think they run about $200. The Marlin 60 is a very popular model and runs about $130 or so. -

Semi-auto, pump or bolt? -
I usually stop no matter what whether I am on the water or in a car. There is a big difference between what I would do and what is legally mandated.

Flyfishing is a lot of fun. What some people don't know is that there are flyrods that are made to take 200 pound tarpon. I think many people think that they are all flimsy rods made to catch 1 pound rainbow trout or perch on tiny flies. I have some saltwater and bass flies that are 8 inches or longer.

Stop and render aid is a requirement if you have been involved in an accident whether it be a vehicle accident or a boating accident. One is under the Parks and Wildlife Code and the other is in the Transportation Code but they roughly say the same thing. If someone is injured in an accident that you are involved in, you must render aid to them and if you are the operator, you must give them your name, address and insurance if it is an auto accident. I have never seen a law with the requirement to render aid for something that you happen to see or witness.

If you need weedless in the grass flats, break out the flyrod.

Hang on PNG, I will attempt to interpret. I think it was a general statement, not intended for any one person. well then you can stick to the bank is all i can say bud i know wut you mean I guess you need to stay out of the school near the open water because that is where the people are cutting through at high speed. but there is nuthin you can do about it i hate it when yer trollin by the bank and they are plained out and flyin right by yuh and you think yer gonna fly out the boat from the wake I hate it. Even when I am near the bank fishing and a boat will fly by so fast that I am afraid the wake will toss me out of the boat.

... and shoot big foot when you get that wolf. ;D

So maybe it was a great big white and gray German Shepherd.
-
Because they catch so many fish plowing right into the school of working fish. It is a well known fact that this attracts other fish to the area to add to the already schooling fish. I am surprised that you didn't know that.

They hang out with Big Foot.

I wish but I have to work this weekend. I just hope that my trip in about 4 weeks goes through.

does anyone else smell a new rivalry?

That's a good short way of putting it. -
More than likely it was a jaguarundi. [Hidden Content]

Well they need to quit going into the field and doing surveys and get on setxsports.com and find the real story. Silly biologists.
-
....and not only did they not go 0-3, they pretty much made the first round of the playoffs look like a preseason game against powderpuffs.

It is no rivalry in the sense that most people talk about. I think of an archrival as the team that you really want to beat above all others. If you could only win one game a year, this would be it. It could be Texas and Texas A&M, USC and UCLA or Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins. It may be Nederland and PN-G or Silsbee and Jasper. In my mind, the other team has to feel the same way, otherwise it isn't an archrival. Some Vidor fans seem to keep trying to make Nederland into an archrival. That is okay I guess but to most Nederland fans, Vidor is nothing more than an afterthought. Sure they win every few years but who cares, it is just another game. Every team that you play is a rival in the sense that it an opponent but a rivalry game goes deeper than that. I don't see how Dayton and Lumberton as a rivalry game. It will be interesting to see if Dayton can avenge their loss from this year but not much more. Since I think that a rivalry game is a two-way street, the Dayton fans on here can tell you if they feel like Lumberton is the team that they will now start looking forward to beating every year. -
I have never killed a buck under a feeder although I have killed a few does that way. I do think that killing does is akin to harvesting since it isn't a trophy hunt anyway. A doe is just a meat hunt and for management to keep from overpopulating. Most of the bigger bucks that I have ever seen were not at a feeder. They are walking in more dense areas and skirting around the areas of a feeder looking for does. Most of the time I consider does to be the actual bait. The biggest deer that I have ever seen was in a trip to south Texas for a four day hunt and I sure didn't have a feeder but I did scatter some corn on the ground to slow 'em down. I think hunting feeders is overrated unless it is one of the guided hunts like in south Texas. Good luck with the hunt. I am looking forward to seeing a picture of a trophy posted on here.
