  1. Sounds like the game score. ;D
  2. If Lumberton starts of at 3-0 with two of the wins coming from Dayton and Central then I think it will remove any doubt of how good Lumberton is. It is one thing to upset a team by one point. It is anther to repeat the performance. Vidor beat Nederland last year as has been brought up many times. It sure didn't change anything in the way of the district playoffs. Nederland went back to the playoffs and Vidor fell to a bottom tier team again. Beating Dayton is great but the playoff race didn't stop with one 1 point victory. Following that win up with beating Central will show everyone that Lumberton is a serious playoff contender.
  3. The play calling is the head coach. If a head coach doesn't like what the offensive coordinator is calling then he needs to correct the problem.
  4. Can a part of a school district force the forming another independent school district? In effect they would be deannexing part of the district to form another. If that is not legal by Texas state law, then it is a moot point as far as an independent Kenefick high school. If the Dayton Independent School District chooses to make another high school, then that is their option. Beaumont has gone from six, down to two and then back up to three. Port Arthur went from three to one. I have no knowledge of anything that goes on politically inside of DISD but I don't believe that they will voluntarily split a 4A school with 1,400 students down to two 3A schools or maybe a 2A and a 3A. It just won't happen as there is no point.
  5. 1. Nederland will not go 5A. 2. Nederland and PN-G will not consolidate.
  6. Mathematically Central might not have to win. Realistically, if Central loses to go 0-2 then they would have to go 5-0 the rest of the way and then hope for the best.
  7. No but they will be testing for Budweiser.
  8. I don't think it is a matter of owing anyone anything. I personally think that it is interesting listening to what coaches have to say. It does not have to be and should not be confrontational. That is why it could not work on an open forum such as this. There has to be screening of questions. On KFDM's Sports Extra on the weekends, I like to listen to what the coaches have to say. I am a Nederland fan and most of the coaches on there have nothing to do with Nederland as far as being a foe. That does not mean that it is not interesting to listen to. Having coaches answer questions has nothing to do with owing anyone an answer. It has a lot to do with people that are just interested in sports talk.
  9. ...or as Johnnie Cochran would say, "If you will not quit, you must commit"
  10. Great thread however. It has gone five pages in two hours.
  11. Go back a couple of pages and see where I said almost exactly that. There would be no need to lock or unlock the forums. It would just remain locked only for admin and/or mods. I still don't think any coach wants to take time out during the season worrying about responding to questions from the public. They have enough on their plate with the upcoming games.
  12. Only on television. I have talked to a couple in person. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes. If you go way back to the first page of this thread, you will see that I said that it would not work in this format in the 5th post. There is no need to convince me.
  13. Actually, I have done both.
  14. Well that's just tasty but Nederland has put about 1,200 yards passing while trying to break in a new sophmore quarterback and he has managed to toss 10 touchdowns since coming off of the bench. Now that he has gotten a couple of games under his belt, our quarterback has put up more than 500 yards passing and 5 touchdowns in the two district games where it counts. You had better hope for the best passing defense if you want to hang in that game.
  15. I use that analogy at work all the time. You wouldn't think of telling your doctor how to take out your appendix or tell your dentist how to pull a tooth but you are more than willing to tell me how to do my job....... ;D
  16. No, I wouldn't mind at all. In fact, I often answer questions about my profession and have spoken in public forums or given presentations about it. That includes taking some shots from people.
  17. Let's get back to the thread and stop the personal attacks. Thanks.
  18. I missed it? If you thought that I made a serious post, you missed it but thanks for playing along.
  19. You must have over 1,000 posts, have positive karma and receive a nomination from at least 4 other moderators. Then you have to submit to an online interview that is reviewed by the owners of the site. If they agree for you to be a moderator, you send in your registration fees and once they are accepted, you can moderate. If you believe any of that, I have some land to sell you also at the beach, just as soon as the tide goes out......
  20. Wouldn't that be great for candid answers. One of the coaches thinks his receivers are horrible, we just don't know which one of the dozens of teams in the area he was talking about.
  21. Not if you did it like I suggested....not that any coach would take us up on it. You could however have a forum of moderated questions. I have seen that done at many public forums where people write down questions and a moderator asks them of the speaker.
  22. That's the old argument, if you think you can do better, you coach but if you haven't been there, don't criticize. Of course, then we could never criticize the police unless we have been one, you can't criticize a teacher unless you are a teacher and only three former presidents are alive and since they are the only ones that have been there, they are the only ones that can criticize President Bush. If everyone had to be in another person's position in order to criticize that person then almost no one can criticize anything. Freedom of speech is a great thing and I think that I retain the right to look into anyone else's profession or make any criticism without having to have been in their shoes in order to do so.
  23. Nothing that I can see.
  24. Yes. You have to be over 45 to play.
