You don't get to return a muffed ball to an imaginary spot on the field. A recovery of a muffed punt is a dead ball at the spot of the recovery. If the impetus of the ball carries it into the endzone then it is a touchback.

I guess what you are saying then is that PN-G is open to the big play? The only way Nederland scored 40 points on Central was big plays and interception returns. I am fairly certain that the points counted all the same and you don't get penalized for making a long drive all in one play.

Great streak. It is interesting that PN-G has to go back more than a generation to have something noteworthy to talk about. The fact that they have been owned in the 2000's seems to have escaped them.

Reality? All I heard last year and in the beginning this year is that Nederland won't be the same without Mosley to hold them up. Last year at this time Nederland is 1-4 and 0-2 in district with Mosley. This year without him, our downfall as predicted is......

I said in another thread that Vidor's two district loses were to teams that were a combined 10-0. The schedule is just luck the way it falls but Vidor happened to draw two opponents that were playing some of the best football at the moment.

I think you are trying to be way to philosophical. In the scope of life it is great for many kids to have a chance to compete in team sports, win or lose. As far as the football seasons go, you can't tell me that players, coaches and fans don't have disappointing seasons. The higher the expectations, the more the disappointments can be.

I don't think this is the game of the year but it sure is looking like an important one. The last day of district also has PN-G @ Dayton and Nederland @ Lumberton. It might be a wild finish for this one.

If Lumberton starts of at 3-0 with two of the wins coming from Dayton and Central then I think it will remove any doubt of how good Lumberton is. It is one thing to upset a team by one point. It is anther to repeat the performance. Vidor beat Nederland last year as has been brought up many times. It sure didn't change anything in the way of the district playoffs. Nederland went back to the playoffs and Vidor fell to a bottom tier team again. Beating Dayton is great but the playoff race didn't stop with one 1 point victory. Following that win up with beating Central will show everyone that Lumberton is a serious playoff contender.

The play calling is the head coach. If a head coach doesn't like what the offensive coordinator is calling then he needs to correct the problem.

Can a part of a school district force the forming another independent school district? In effect they would be deannexing part of the district to form another. If that is not legal by Texas state law, then it is a moot point as far as an independent Kenefick high school. If the Dayton Independent School District chooses to make another high school, then that is their option. Beaumont has gone from six, down to two and then back up to three. Port Arthur went from three to one. I have no knowledge of anything that goes on politically inside of DISD but I don't believe that they will voluntarily split a 4A school with 1,400 students down to two 3A schools or maybe a 2A and a 3A. It just won't happen as there is no point.
