It doesn't matter who walked under the coconut tree yesterday. If you are under the tree when the coconut falls, you are the one that gets hit. They just got hit with the coconut.

I don't know anyone in Nederland that thinks it is a rivalry game but I am sure some Vidor fans would like for that to be. There is no big buildup for the Vidor game. It is just another game on the schedule. That would be about like Central fans saying that Dayton is their rivalry game since they lost to them last year. Obviously a team wants to win every game but I would think Central fans have a huge desire to beat Ozen or WB other than winning a district championship.

That is correct Cardinal Supporter because for a true arch rival the game means just about as much as the district championsip itself. Ask someone from PN-G or Nederland which game is their rivalry game. You won't hear anyone say that they had a close game the last three years another team so that is their rival. No way. I see it written where people say that this team seems to be their arch rival or something like "I guess that team" is our rival. If you have to guess or sit and think about it, then it isn't a rivalry game. You don't choose your arch rival. It just happens over time.

It does not matter what name(s) you attach to the Demon's problems. It can be the head coach, general manager, assistant manager, owner, part owner, etc. All that matters is that the organization is responsible for the upkeep of the property that they have been allowed to use.

Let's say that I borrow a house from someone that uses this forum so that I can throw a party. It is larger than mine, has a nice patio for grilling and the pool is great. When you return to your house it is trashed and you wonder why I didn't clean it up after you were kind enough to loan it to me. My response, "Well, I told the guests at the door not to make a mess so I am not responsible. By the way, can I be back at your house next weekend because I am throwing another party". So is it the guests or me that is responsible and are you going to let me borrow your house again?

Nederland has had one of the most consistent offenses in the district for about the last 10 years. Nederland has had one of the district's top quarterback, running back or wide receiver (if not the top at one or more of those positions) long before Mosley arrived. I wonder what is prompting the change.

I have a hard time believing that 15k construction workers (if there are that many) are going to bring in up to 80k new residents. Most construction workers do not migrate with their families to a new job. They come from either aliens or coastal states and drive home on the weekends or a few times a year. There may be some increase in students but I think if anything, the number will be very small and have no impact on the local schools.

Not exactly. I have to go with Scooter on this one. WO-S doesn't have the numbers anymore to play consistently with the larger teams. They have a great history behind them but it was time to drop to the lower classification. The Mustangs last three years in 4A there were no playoffs. As far as hype, WO-S hasn't exactly lived up to their hype going into 3A and haven't been any better in the playoffs than WB or PAM.

Maybe someday Nederland can live up to the great football legend of PA Memorial and all of their playoff wins.

I got second place in Spanish Mackerel in the Deep Sea Roundup in Port Aransas one year. This is the 73rd year for it. It must be in the running for the oldest saltwater tournament in the country.

I believe the federal and state waters were closed this year from May 15th to July 15th to let the brown shrimp migrate.

Because anytime the police are involved, it is a news story. It does not appear to have been handled within the school system or it would not have been in the hands of the police. I would venture to guess that it was not printed four months ago because it was not publicly revealed at that time. It might be an old story to some people inside of BC but it sure doesn't appear to be old news to the people on this forum. I am sure that if the news media had the information back then, it would have run with the story. It seems far fetched that the media knew of a drug investigation and sat on the story until the "appropriate" time. What would be the point? I could find it easy to believe that the story was kept quiet until someone felt the need to make it public and tipped off the media. That could be almost anyone.

I never said that it was not true. Speculation is to base something on insufficient evidence. It does not mean that something is false. I am sure that there are several people that are on the "inside" and fully aware of what is going on. Until something is released officially and unless someone has direct knowledge, it is nothing more than speculation. If you read the article there is nothing about anyone being caught or arrested, any school official being involved in an investigation or any punishments. As far as it being old news, according to the BCPD it is at least several months old. That is in the article. I don't see where the timing is bad because it appears to be an ongoing investigation. It will be current news story until it is resolved by either being unfounded or maybe some criminal charges being brought.
