  1. From offense or defense, especially on defense. I guess when they gave 20+ picks to Dayton, they didn't leave room for much else.
  2. It takes more than being close to make a game of the year. First it should have some kind of impact on the district standings (and not challenging Lumberton for last place) and it needs to be memorable by maybe having wild scoring, great individual performances, closeness, etc.
  3. Dayton sure can't claim they were passed over as the new kids on the block by the Golden Triangle coaches.
  4. I hunt a split deer season. I split my vacations so that I can hunt at different times in the season. That is a good thing about having 8 weeks vacation.......
  5. DeJohn had a great year but there is more than stats in picking all-district. I can see that the Lumberton fans believe in all-district by computer. Let the computer spit out the stats and that is your all district team. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Leadership, impact on the team, winning, etc., all go into the coaches making their decisions. As far as stats, DeJohn has slightly better stats but just barely. Moshier taking his team two games deep in the playoffs probably seem more important to the coaches than looking at Lumberton as last place in the district.
  6. LOL. Now that is funny. Yeah' date=' didn't you hear, no hunting in our county next week? Trust me!![img']
  7. Have you changed bullet weights?
  8. Almost half the people (at this point) do not agree. For my opinion, Larry Neumann puts together one of the best staffs top to bottom each year. Individual coaches might be very good in their specialty for example, I believe that Cornell Thompson is a great defensive coordinator at WO-S. Neumann's staff across the board seems to get a maximum effort out of the talent level they are given year after year.
  9. But if you buy the Zeiss Victory Diarange scope for $3,700, they will throw in the mounts for free. The Zeiss Conquest line is actually fairly comparable in price to the Leupold VX-III line. It is when you get the the more high end Zeiss that you start paying a little more than Leupold and then not by much.
  10. Sounds like he had an awesome year. I am not that familiar with the players in 21-3A and don't pull for any of the teams in that district anyway so I don't have a dog in the hunt. Dishon sure seems to get more press than Ramsey and perception is everything.
  11. The last two comments pretty much hit the nail on the head. Purely going by statistics means nothing. It is like Coach of the Year. Often you will see a coach that brings a losing program up to the playoffs get the Coach of the Year. He may be 8-3 in the end and another coach might have ended 10-1 but is the fact that he took a team with a previously losing record to the playoffs generally shows a better overall job of coaching. If nothing but stats were used to pick players and coaches, why would there even be a vote? Just let a computer spit the all-district teams out. EDIT: For an example, look at Ron Mohica last year for Nederland. He was the defensive MVP for district 20-4A. I doubt that he was even in the top 4 tacklers on Nederland's team so how did he get to be MVP and on the PA News and Beaumont Enterprise's Super Teams? Because he completely disrupted offensive lines and often took on double and triple teams. Everyone else got the stats while to was taking on the whole offensive line. There is nothing in the stats that show that but the coaches that voted on the all-district teams sure knew it and gave him the MVP.
  12. The Port Arthur TJ connection. How many coaches that have been associated with the old PA Thomas Jefferson have had successful programs. There is Todd Dodge at SLC, Stump at WB, Ronnie Thompson tied for first place his first year back in PA, Nederland's Larry Neumann came from TJ and Mike Owens was run off from TJ and then won state at Tyler Lee. Are there anymore?
  13. Come on Central. Maybe somebody can salvage this weekend.
  14. Game over. WO-S has the ball first and goal the 5 and can't push it in. 21-13 Giddings.
  15. Dropped ball in the endzone. Giddings ball at the 5 yard line.
