  1. Touchdown Giddings.. 13-7 with the point after coming.
  2. Snap over the head of the WO-S punter. Giddings ball at the WO-S 16 yard line.
  3. Giddings is making some big runs back to back. WO-S had better step it up a notch.
  4. There are 229 teams in 4A in Texas. This weekend 181 of them have finished their seasons. Nederland is not one of those teams. It is better to be in the fight and be an underdog than to be a member of the 181 teams that are sitting at home and posting messages about the teams left in the playoffs.
  5. No hog dogs. That is called having a pig walk out in front of you while you are deer hunting. I think a lot of people around the south consider the Catahoula as the ultimate hog dog.
  6. Actually, for a change I did not stuff myself however, if I had those smoked ribs that Coop talked about..........
  7. This one was killed a couple of days ago on our lease. It weighed 240.
  8. We are always hiring but you won't get cheese and Mozart. Maybe some gangsta rap and a drive through burger.
  9. And this is usually the time of the year to slaughter them. That and there is no size or creel limit.
  10. I only have to drive about 15 minutes to get to saltwater. By the same token, I have to drive almost two hours to get to the big East Texas bass lakes. Then I have to figure on spending at least the night. Two of my best days ever saltwater fishing were after I got off of work, drove two blocks away and then fished off of the dock. I caught lots of fish and kept 20 specks (legally) before I got home from work. I don't get seasick, I don't pay attention to the tidal charts but I agree on cleaning the equipment. My round trip drive time to Rayburn or Toledo is 4 hours. I can wash a lot of fishing rods and hose down my boat. For my opinion, saltwater is more of a pure fishing event. It is usually more active, there are large number of species that can be caught from small pan fish to up to hundreds of pounds and they generally fight more. You can never be sure exactly what kind of fish is going to be on the end of your line after the cast. Freshwater fishing is more of a laid back, fish for the sake of fishing trip. You aren't going because you can fill the boat with fish, the fish isn't likely to strip a lot of line from your reel and you usually know what fish is going to hit your lure/bait. There seems to be a little more of a hunting aspect to freshwater, at least for bass. The thrill of the hunt is usually more interesting than the actual time spent reeling them in. My freshwater fishing is usually more relaxing and much more scenic than saltwater. I consider it more of a vacation type fishing to saltwater's working kind of fishing. Both are great but if I had to pick one, it would have to be in the salt.
  11. 1.5 seconds left. Lamar down by 2 but with the inbound pass...and the finish is............ EDIT: 64-62 final. Lamar missing a 22 foot three pointer to win the game.
  12. Next time, you can call Dell.com support in India and get a better price.
  13. I used to wonder about that myself but I don't think it hurts and if it does, not much. Lamar basketball is a local sport and almost like high school football. Either you want to go to the games or you don't. Being on the tube probably has no bearing on it. It might be different for big time programs where people might drive for a couple of hours to get to a game. How far do people come from to see UCLA, North Carolina, etc? Coop, would you stay home and watch WO-S football on television on friday nights if it was live or would you go to the stadium and get a feel for the excitement? I would suspect that you would attend every game in person as would other fans. The people that stay home from those games would have stayed at home anyway, especially when it is on the radio.
  14. Maybe BISD will do like they did for Westbrook and do a search and take applications for a coach instead of just promoting from within. Maybe a coach already in BISD will win out but why limit the search? Promoting from within has hurt in the past and other schools have made the same mistake. Just look for the best person for the job.
  15. Nothing new about that play in its different variations. I have never heard of it where the qb calls the penalty and walks off the yardage however. PN-G ran a decoy play last year on Nederland for a touchdown but it was the wide receiver that did the trick. PN-G only had 10 men in the huddle but obviously Nederland was thinking it was a full 11 man team. PN-G then ran one player in like he was a 12th man. Naturally a player from the huddle has to leave the field to make 11 players or so Nederland players thought. The only problem was that there were only 11 on the field and the guy running to the sidelines never left the field. He just stood about 2 feet from the sidelines like he was talking to a coach. No one covered him and he received the pass for a touchdown. Great trick play.... but they lost anyway.
  16. I think the Raiders need to change their colors to something more intimidating. With a name like Raiders, their color scheme doesn't work well. That might get you a couple of more wins a year.
  17. Grogan was not the player of the game but he sure brought some intensity to it. If he can keep that up for the next two years, he might be a great player.
