  1. I win gracefully but yall pay the refs off? Yes, that is quite graceful.
  2. Finally a real game tonight. I wonder how long that will last.
  3. We might be the winner in the longest sentence on setxsports.com.
  4. So is that the most popular in fan support or the most talked about?
  5. Have you looked back at the Nederland posts from this thread? We have all said that we are the underdog not GP. That underdog roll is just a word game by a smart coach. He doesn't want to give Nederland any incentive and maybe make them overconfident. In any case, it doesn't matter what the fans on this site believe, it is what the players think when they take the field. I don't think the Bulldog players are hitting the field Saturday night thinking that they are the favorites against an 8-2 team from any district.
  6. I don't see how you can say that in a blanket statement. How are two teams in a 6 team district going to necessarily be better than 3 teams from an 8 or 9 team district. In any case, how can 3 teams weaken anything? Does a district champion get weaker by playing the #2 team in the first round of the playoffs?
  7. I was able to get 2, 4, 5, 10, 11 without looking at the names. The others I had to look at the team names.
  8. I was wondering why you said "easy". I didn't think you were getting flamed. I look back at WO-S sitting at home their last three years in 4A as the 4th team in our district. Nederland was the 3rd place team and going to the quarter or semi-finals. WO-S could have done at least that good. The problem is this, do you set all districts playoff teams by the weakest districts in the state that have very little competition or do you set the playoff teams by the strong districts. It is very true that the 3rd place team in a lot of districts could not beat the cellar dwellers in 22-4A or 21-3A. That could also be said of some of the 1st place teams in some of the weaker districts. I bet there are some districts where even the 1st place team rarely makes it past the first game. Do you set the rules to give strong teams in a strong district a chance, thereby allowing a weaker district with an undeserving team an extra game or do you punish the strong district in order to keep a possibly weaker team out of the playoffs on the other side of the state? I feel more strongly to let the deserving teams in with the knowledge that some undeserving teams will slip in the back door rather than kick out some very good teams simply because a district somewhere else doesn't live up to the competition level in most of the state. Just my opinion.
  9. I had to go to nfl.com and looked at the names. Then they are fairly easy. Especially 15.
  10. Ask the kids that and see what the answer is. I don't think many (or any) of them would turn down the playoffs because they might get hurt or beat. How is a playoff game any different than any other game on chances of getting hurt or beat?
  11. I don't think it is either but to say the players don't or shouldn't care is wrong in my opinion. They are not a bunch of unfeeling robots out there. If they were, we should be able to post anything we want about them on these boards since they shouldn't care without any feelings getting hurt. That just isn't the case.
  12. I think players at any level like a strong support from the fans. Maybe you have never seen players turn to a crowd and try to get them pumped up when it is crunch time but I have. I haven't been in high school for a long time so maybe it has changed but I think the players realize when the fans are walking out on them and I do not believe that they have no feelings when it happens. That goes for teams all the way up to the pros.
  13. There were quite a few teams that seemed to be underachievers this year but I can't figure that any of them that did as bad as Ozen. I know that some people picked them to miss the playoffs but a lot of others thought they should contend for a playoff spot, if not the championship. I don't know anyone that picked them to go 1-9 and tie for last place in the district. That and most of the games they lost were not even competitive.
  14. GP is not the underdog but their coach sure wants to sell it that way. It is just smart coaching to get his team pumped and maybe get the other team overconfident. It is the opposite of what is normally called bulletin board material. The opposing coach comes in groveling to make it look like his team doesn't even belong. Smart move but GP is not the underdog.
  15. They gave up less points all year than Nederland gave up to Central.
  16. He didn't say that you should not post. He was just referring to what I posted next but I think Mike just left it up to the imagination whereas I put it into words as a public service.
