TDS for four more years….. I watched a Youtube reaction yesterday that popped up on my feed. I am not even sure who it showed but reacting to the Trump win a guy literally asked how people could vote for a guy that puts out mean messages. Here we go with mean tweets again! 🤣 It worked so well before. It might not occur to the people about to fall off of the left side of the flat Earth but Trump is on his last term. He can’t run again. Impeachments, fake accusations of misogyny and white supremacy, complaints about tweets, insurrection accusations, my body-my choice, choosing your pronouns, men beating up women in sports, nonsensical and corrupt prosecutions and so on don’t matter any more. Trump slapped all of those deranged attempts at gaslighting off and had an election win by gaining in every demographic. So let’s lift a 🍺 as a toast to our Democrat brothers and sisters and hope that they can get back to arguing about real issues like their opinions on the best ways of saving Social Security, defending this nation, slamming the border shut, ending sanctuary states and cities, opening up the oil fields until an actual solution can be found to not using as much fossil fuels, etc.

Wasn’t Combs recently charged in several felonies and lawsuits? Gaetz was investigated for two years by the Biden DOJ and no charges were brought for lack of evidence. I expect everyone to proclaim innocence. I get it. Why admit guilt when you haven’t been convicted of anything. Even if guilty, the evidence might not stand up in court. To compare the cases however, apparently several witnesses have come forward and made sworn statements to law enforcement against Combs. We don’t get multiple indictments on innuendo. Apparently none could be found so far against Gaetz. But yes, they are both innocent until convicted and I expect both to proclaim innocence. To compare the two however…..

As we all know, the Texas legislature meets every odd year. The next session starts about four weeks from now in mid January. Thousands of bills will be filed in the next three months or so but some are already filed as legislators try to get a head start. They can take no action on the bills until the session begins but at least they will already be on a file when the session does start. One such Bill submitted in the Senate would allow anyone with an LTC to carry on a school campus, including inside of buildings. The handgun has to be concealed. Also, in that bill, a school district cannot enact a rule or ordinance prohibiting such carry. This bill would also cover staff and faculty employed by the schools. I have no idea how this bill will be received. Some bills are filed and that is the end of it. They are killed in committee and will never even be discussed. I would think that after Uvalde and after other incidents in the news, such as this one in Wisconsin, this bill will at least be looked at seriously.

A new Marquette University Law School poll shows Biden’s approval rating is at 34%. The same poll shows Trump at 53%….. in this first term. A bit of buyer’s remorse perhaps? Looking at the last 4 years, it appears that some people‘s opinions has changed to, maybe Trump wasn’t so bad after all. Ya’ think?? 😎

That’s called safe harbor or actually the real Election Day. Safe Harbor had a play in the 2000 presidential election where Gore tried to overturn the election with an unconstitutional recount. The Supreme Court voted 7-2 that the Gore recount was unconstitutional. Then they voted 5-4 that there was no time to meet Safe Harbor.

Trump as president elect if getting briefings just as if he was the president. So whatever their daily briefing is about what’s happening, he’s getting all the information. There might be members of this forum who are carrying weapons in schools. You are correct in going around guards. In Columbine, which seems to have set the trend on such incidents, there was an officer on campus. Klebold and Harris had plans deal with him. In fact, they had planned to take him out where he normally goes to lunch at that time. He messed them up by brown bagging that day, which was unusual. What many people may not know is that the on campus police officer engaged them in gunfire almost immediately and although tragic, they could’ve killed several dozen students but were unable due to the police officer on scene. Twelve students is horrible but it’s better than 50.

Yeah, DOA….. on arrival of the police. Therein lies the problem that people sometimes neglect. How do you deter a person who has no intent on survival?

It seems like at least 5 dead at a Christian school including the juvenile shooter. Not much else except the shooter might be a student at the school and a good chance of a self-inflicted wound.

No. I was actually offered a fairly significant job after a chemical spill but it was too close to the airport and I needed FFA clearance which took some time but the access to the accident site was limited in time. It was something like, there is a court order to inspect the site for a limited number of hours. It was potentially a multimillion dollar suit so I likely would have been awarded nicely for my time. I am still a commercial pilot license active but covid put a huge damper on many of of my plans.

I saw a comment that they have red and green lights so it proves that it is a government drone. NEWSFLASH: Drones come with red and green navigation lights just like boats and planes. Trump was using somewhat serious but somewhat hyperbolic speech like always. Even the government cannot legally shoot down lawfully flying aircraft. If any aircraft including drones violate restricted airspace and cause a direct threat, it is probably lawful. Have a guy flying a hang glider toward the White House and see what happens. I am fairly certain that on 9-11, had an aircraft of any type flown toward the White House, Capitol, etc., it would have been eliminated. Anyone with a commercial drone license (I have both pilot and commercial drone licenses) can fly at night. That’s why I think a lot of this may be copycats. Once the story went out, people are flying their drones, either to be part of the show or maybe even to take video of the other drones. Also, it is unlawful for a recreational drone pilot to fly at night however, when do laws stop people from doing something?

Here is a problem. I have not seen this take from anyone yet and it might be completely nonsense. But… Drones are easily bought on the commercial market including some with some pretty hefty lifting ability. Drones can be purchased online or at local stores like Best Buy that will fly 70mph or more. In a huge metro area, how many copycats might there be? There might be over a couple of thousands drones in the immediate Golden Triangle area alone How hard would it be to have 30 - 40 people flying those things around at one time? Imagine an area like Houston. There might be over 1,000 airborne at one time. What if there is actually something to this like maybe a real spy drone or two but then toss in 50 private citizens just flying around to stir up the news. A person could walk into Walmart or Best Buy this afternoon and be flying around the area tonight. Then…. Consider that shooting down a drone is a felony under federal law about shooting down aircraft. So while some teenager flies a drone just to join in on all the hoopla, if a person gets caught shooting it down, he may end up in prison with a $250,000 fine. On the other hand maybe it is something way more sinister than copycats. Maybe there is some kind of serious national security threat. Or it can be 30 high school kids wanting to get in on the show……

How do you know that the drones aren’t being tracked? I suspect that if you shoot one down, you will be tracked…..
