1. Good Luck Anahuac!!
 2.
Hardin will be a tough test for Anahuac defensively however Anahuac will prevail!! That being said, Hardin may have 4 yards rushing but passing, they will find their target.  I still say Wac by 21+
I really don't see Anahuac's defense being tested that much. Anahuac has this game.
 3.
Yeah Deweyville has "good players" and always play with alot of heart. But we are talking Bottom Line here. not what could be. Somebody tell me how in the world a defensive back who runs a 5 flat forty can cover a reciever who runs a 4.4. Thats not lack of discipline! As far as being in the Old district being a nightmare? What? We are 0-3! How would it be worse????? I believe we won some district games in THAT district last year. The reality! No matter what disrtict we are in, we are going to be the small school,Unless we drop down. Yes we have made play-offs in past. But we could make them just about every year in 1a. And before someone else accuses me of Whining, Im just stating facts, not whining. The one post that made sense is; YES you do have to get these young kids in the program early. thats with any sport. But like I stated.  LACK OF TEAM SPEED! TOO MANY ONE WAY PLAYERS! LACK OF SIZE!= 0-3 in district.
Just curious here. Which district games did ya'll win last year? The district also added Newton and Woodville, who are definately no slouches.
 4.
Bottom line. Deweyville is smallest school in district. too many one way players. not enough team speed to match up to bigger schools. In my opinion they took Deweyville out of the frying pan and threw them in the fire when they moved them out of the district they were in. There is some good talent on this team, as with teams in the past. But playing tougher non district games is not the answer. Dont think coaching is the only problem either. Playing tough non district games only gives you more pre-district injuries, from playing bigger schools. Deweyville was only eight kids from dropping down to 1a. Thats where we need to be, and thats where we can compete. Took Evadale to the wire, they are in top ten in texas 1a. They will probably go undefeated in their district for the second year in a row. They would not make the play-offs in our district either. Not because of coaching, or schedule, but because of their size and lack of team speed. Same as us! Not much you can do about it either, its what your delt, when you have 40 students to make a team. my 2 cents anyway.
Are you serious?? Would you really want them to be in this district still?? With East Chambers, Anahuac, Newton, etc.
 5.
I wished that all high school teams would wear pink like the pros do in support of the fight against breast cancer.  Maybe at least the fans could
Warren fans did last week. Our stadium was also decorated in pink crepe paper. I also noticed the players from Newton had pink tape? or socks? on one or both feet. There were signs as well (fight like a girl!, and a huge pink ribbon) at Warrior stadium. I am sure these weren't the only two teams to contribute to this cause, I just know what I saw at the game I attended.
 6.
I didnt mean no disrespect toward the pirates.  I think deweyville has always been hardnosed and tough. you guys never quit.  I think you guys might surprise some folks but Groveton and Corrigan are in class by themselves with everyone else fighting for the rest.  Anything can happen. Keep your heads up,even though Groveton is tuff,i think their defense is suspect.
Well, yeah, their defense allowed what 32 points last week. Then again their offense scored 77. Groveton is tough, but you never know what can happen. Good luck Deweyville just keep fighting.
 7.
I don't think the as many weapons was an insult.. just they don't move the ball around to as many different ppl as hardin does.. they will run 5 plays and the ball will go to 5 different ppl.. if hardin had the kids anahuac had... oh my... that's all I have to say..
Yeah, I really get that. When we (Warren) played Anahuac, the roster was ridiculous. We knew that going into the game, but to get the one sheet of paper with Warren's roster on one side and Anahuac's on the other, well...you just had to see it. There was no need to count players, just flip it over. Anahuac easily had double (probably more than double) the players that we have.
 8.
Sure they stopped them.  I don't know what the exact figure is but didn't Harding score like more than 50 points a game before playing the coogs.  There is no doubt that Hardin has a high scoring offense and they are hard to contain.  They would be the team to beat if they'd just run the ball 25 % of the time.  The panthers pose an easier team to contain because they don't have the number of threats hardin has.  If buna can stop the run it's over.  That's a good if granted, but I'm interested to see just what happens.  Buna kept it too close for newtons comfort the first half of that game and a couple of turnovers sealed the deal for newton.  Are the panthers more dynamic than the eagles....I don't think so.  So we'll see come Friday if all the talk fits the walk for both of us.  I still have Buna up by  14 when the clock strikes zero.  Teams are putting 11 guys in the box trying to stop Buna and nobody has come close yet.  And at the end of this contest, be honest either way it goes, tell me if Buna aint the hardest hitting team you've seen this year.
You can't be serious. Anahuac doesn't have as many weapons as Hardin?
 9.
Well, I can assure you that if it was an oversight, it was an accidental one.  Coach Fentress felt the loss as much as anyone and probably just had a crazy week.
I'm sure you're right, it had to be something like that.
 10. I thought that was a little strange too.
 11. I think the title of the thread says it all!!
 12.

It's nice to see so many having a laugh at our boys' expense. We love them win or lose! They play their hearts out til the final whistle. I think that deserves a little respect at least. They may be outmatched, but they never quit. Adults should know better (and I am assuming that all these posters are adults) then to laugh at high school football players. These boys work just as hard as any other team. I hope none of them read this board.
Well looking at the posts, the lions share were from me looking for a score which I didn't get until I e-mailed Coach Fentress last night and got the score from him.  I know he would have been willing to send me scoring updates during the game (as I am sure Coach Barbay would have if asked) but they were a little busy between 7 and 10 last night. In the future for the Warren games, would you like that task? I can e-mail score updates if you need someone to do that.

You're right, I should have clarified. I just thought the mock score was a little mean. I don't have a chip on my shoulder, but like most parents and fans, I AM very sensitive when it comes to the players.

 15. Warren's QB normally wears number 11, but I've been told he will wear number 12 this Friday night.
 16.
REALLY?  why even start a thread when everyone know's who is going to win. I'm from warren and in all honesty, I don't see them winning a game. and before all my warren people start hateing on me, take a good look in the mirror and really ask yourself. can they win 1 game this season? They had there best chance against dewyville. yes i will always root and go for them but lets be honest. they just don't have the number of kids coming out and playing like they used to!
Yes, Anahuac takes this one, I agree. I do NOT agree, however that Deweyville was their last chance for a win. Like you, I am a Warrior fan til the end, but I think that they can win a game or maybe two this season.
 17. Our condolences and deepest sympathies to the family and the WOS community from Warren.
 18.
I'm very proud of the effort that the Warriors displayed friday night. It was one deserving of a win. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way. The Warriors were much improved. The offense was moving the ball and made some impressive drives for their scores. They didn't convert any of there extra point attempts, going for two each time. The Warriors special teams need work. They gave up a kick off return for a touch down after their second touchdown. 13-12. The offense responded with another impressive drive to put the Warriors up 18-13.The defense played great as well. They held the Pirates to minimal gains for most of the game and had what should have been a game winning 4th down stop near their own 20 yard line with less than 2 minutes remaining. Then the unimaginable happened....... After taking a knee on first down, they ran from the gun on second and handed off to the left side. Wide open hole and then the next thing I see after the hit is a loose ball. The Pirates covered the ball. A few plays later, the Pirates score and convert for 2 extra points. 21 - 18 Pirates. Keep you chin up Warriors! Great effort. Big improvements! Definately going in the right direction. Sometimes sucess is not always measured in wins. Just keep getting better each week! We are proud of you! The wins will come.
I would like to second that!! WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!! We believe in you!!!!
 19. judging by last year's success i think png will go far this year good luck guys
 20. kountze has some good talent returning at running back, of course them and warren are the big time underdogs in this district, but watching those two hook up this year should be really interesting to see
 21. ramsey ran the same offense for the whole 8 years he was there at warren, just bringin a new offense to the table is gonna help warren out ALOT, i think their defense will be very solid with the two returning ends (56) and (87).. and number 2 in the secondary, along with number 10 in the middle, warren will have a really good chance at winning some district games in my opinion, as long as the kids believe in themselves, they could hire TONY DUNGEY and it wouldnt do them any good if the athletes themselves didnt believe, it all starts with them..... but talkin to some of the players their sprits seem to be high, guess we'll see when week 0 rolls around, good luck warren and welcome coach Barbay
 22. if his name was KEVIN THOMAS you think he'd know as much about football????? prolly not..... sounds like rebel4christ is a lil jealous of the hire to me, ::) talking to some of the warren players they dnt even expect to win district next year much less aa STATE TITLE, most of the athletes are just excited about bringin a new offensive scheme to the game, the kids just wanna win more than one or two district games, i dnt think thats expectin to much AT ALL, im really excited to watch some of their games next year,  great hire warren HANDS DOWN!!
 23. hmmm... makes u kinda wonder how that district'll go now lol 3 barbays should be interestin
