1. Even a die hard Rebel fan like myself sees that a Newton/Evadale match would likely have the Eagles come out on top, but I agree that it is about how you are in your classification. The Rebels have played and defeated everyone on their schedule so far to this point in the season. Only West Sabine (another 1A school) Division 1 and not in Evadale's district is undefeated going into the 4th week of the season and they too are ahead of some teams that might defeat them if they were to play head to head. But they will not even play the Rebels this year so you take how they are doing against what they have scheduled. I predict that if Newton goes undefeated through the remainder of the season and Evadale does too then Newton will be on top not Evadale. While I do like the Rebels to be on top the only place that I want them is deep in the playoffs and fighting to get further and further. I would love to be playing football in the early part of December. It was fun playing baseball in June and I think it would be a blast to do it in football too!

It is a shame that he will be out and I hope his surgery went well (I believe that it was this week?). Cards we will see you in six weeks on the Battlefield!
Yes his surgery was successful, in fact so successful that I think he put about a mile on those crutches last night going up and down the sideline and his voice had to be completely gone. James is a fighter and he will definately rally back sooner than later. It was nice to see the Cardinals fight for every yard and play good football against Galveston Oconnell, they had some mental errors and some things to work on but at the end of the night a win is a win, and they start work again on Monday getting ready for a good West Hardin team.
Glad to hear about James' surgery. Wishes for speedy recovery to a fine young man!

 4.
Way to take it to em Rebs!!!  This one was much worse than the score, and that was bad enough.  Rebel deffense is stout!!!   Keep your heads and take it one game at a time.
Just to put some facts to Mo's post Rushing Rebels 250   Oilers 89 Passing Rebels   52   Oilers   2 Total Yards      302  Oilers 91 It also should be said that 32 yards for the Oilers came on one play in the second quarter leaving 64 yards for the rest of the Oilers output for the game. The Rebels had 3 QB sacks and 11 tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Five wins and three shutouts for the Rebels...keep on trucking Rebels!
 5.

Why doesn't burkeville actually play someone who is going to challenge them?? I think its funny you can go pick on Christian schools and what not but i'm guessing you are to scared to play anything that has a chance to beat you hahaha    I kinda feel sorry for burkeville!!
What are you talking about Dave, Deweyville is a 2a school and they had to play Burkeville which is a small 1a school on their homecoming so that they had a chance of winning. Burkeville is at least challenging someone who is just about on their level. By the way, Legacy does have a former Oakland Raider as their head coach so they should actually be a pretty good match up. [glow=blue,2,300]SSX78[/glow]
I do think it is an interesting move to schedule the same team twice in the sam e season? I know that it is difficult to schedule at the 1A level. The Rebels only have 9 games this year for the first time that I can remember. I know that JV squads schedule two games with each other when they do not have enough teams that field a JV squad on their schedule, but for a varsity squad I must say it is odd!
 6. The senior football players from Evadale did all the field prep yesterday for homecoming. They did not mark the 12 yard line, but they did put #12 in each corner of the end zone. 10'X10' blue squares with white #12 over the top of the blue. It is very classy and it looks great. I also saw the #12 stickers on the back of the helmets yesterday. To all of WOS our prayers will be with you tonight. It will be a difficult night as the Friday night lights will be burning for a differnt reason toninght. All of SETX has been touched by this young man's life and we all wish that in this time of grief that you can continue to heal and move on. To the players, you can never forget something like this, but you can move forward and use the example of this fine young man as a guide for your own lives. To all of SETX, this past week has once again shown some of the very best from our area. The response has been great and I am sure that in every stadium tonight there will be a little bit of Reggie in all of our hearts. His was a life cut to short, but it will be a life that is long remembered!
 7. I had a thought with all the tribues to Reggie that are being planned and carried out I had an idea. What if every team with a grass field left off just one of the 10 yard marking numbers on their field this week and put 12 on the 12 yard line instead? Just thought it would be a remembrance that every team and fan could participate in and thought I would put it out before field prepartion got started.
 8. I posted on another thread so I won't rehash, but I will say that I am pleased to see the responce that is coming from all fronts and communities in responce to the call to "Remember Reggie!" I know that Evadale will be sporting the stickers on their helmets beginning Friday night at our homecoming game and there will be a moment of silence before kick off in his memory. Could we post the address of where to send donations to the scholarship fund. If it has been posted already I missed it.
 9. In my limited number of years in Evadale (only my 9th homecoming) the Rebels have always shown up for a homecoming game. They have played some easy teams and some more difficult one's, like I believe WH will be. I do believe that the Rebels comoe out on top this Friday. No score prediction from me, but I will stick with the Rebels winning and giving the homecoming crowd another win. Coach Willaims has the team in a good place as they will get a week off before starting district play on Oct 8th. The Rebels have a goal and that is to win the district and then win playoff games. I don't see any change to that and the next couple of months I believe will be pretty exciting in Rebeland!

 11. The responce of the SETX community has been nothing short of "Rita like" with the tragic death of this fine young man. The only thing that can compare to the support that the area has shown for WOS and the Garrett family is how the area responded to help one another after both of the recent hurricanes. This storm is much more localized and the damage is soooo much more personal, but when things get tough, SETX responds and some of the very best traits that I have seen in people have been shown when the need has been the greatest. Know that prayers went out from Evadale to WOS even before the game ended in Colmesneil last Friday as I know they went out from every stadium in the area and from anyone who heard of this tragic passing. Know that prayers will continue and while there is little that can be done other than prayer know that SETX stands with WOS. To the Garrett family, WOS players, coaches and students, residents of the WOS community. For the remainder of this season we in SETX will all be the 12th man for WOS remembering your #12!
 12. This district is what it is. Evadale (despipe what some think) does not get to go to Austin to the UIL office and hand pick it's district alignment. You play where they put you. Believe me it is better for whoever comes out of the district to play the toughest schedule that they can and I believe that Coach Williams does play teams that the Rebels can compete against and still learn from the games. O'Connell was a fill in game after Legacy dropped the Rebels from their schedule. Deweyville and the Rebels played to almost a dead heat. Evadale and Trinity played a hard fought defensive game. The Rebels and Comesneil looked to be a good match up as the Bulldogs were the runner up in our district last year and the final game of the season was decided by a late come from behind touchdown by the Rebels. We got the same stuff last Spring about a "bad" baseball team and ended the year one win from a state title. On paper the district is the Rebels to loose. That does not mean that we don't respect Burkeville, High Island or Sabine Pass. It just means that with an experienced senior laden team that has nothing but seniors and juniors on the team we just expect to win and will fight however lines up on the far side of the field. We like to be #1 in the SETX poll, but understand that at this point winning the district is all that matters. We like being #13 in the state wide AP poll, but understand that the players are looking to make a run in the playoffs and that is what matters. We like winning 21 straight regular season games in a row, but understand that being the best team that they can be is the goal of the Rebels each and every week. At the end of the day and the end of the year it is all about who is still standing and I believe that when all is said and done that the Rebels will be te team left still standing.
 13. Good showing on both sides of the ball. 35 points by the offense was a great outing and it could have been more. The defense except for the two scoring drives bottled up the dogs most of the game. The offense has scored more than 30 twice. The defense has two shutouts and as only allowed 25 points in four games for a little over 6 per game. The string of regular season victories moves to 21 and another undefeated season is still in the sights. Great job Rebels and keep it rolling!
 14.
We will see when Burkeville win tonight i dont want to hear nothin else from you...... Crazy Dave we will see hope yu have a ride to the game....
This might be a good time to reaccess where the Mustangs are in their rebuilding process. Progress for sure, just not as far along as some of the mustang faithfull might have thought.
 15. Just enjoying the Rebels winning! The string is now 20 straight regular season games dating back to Week 3 of the 2008 season. Thanks to the voters for their support and it is always fun to keep the discussion going about the sport we all love to talk about.
 16.
Evadale JV 28   Colmesneil JV 6
Evadale JV looked very impressive and now stands at 3-1 on the season. The talent pool continues at Evadale as the Freshmen and Sophomores on the JV are gaining expereince while winning. Great job Rebels!
 17.
Sorry but I dont see anyone that can stay on the field with Evadale this year. Just hope that they can keep it going for a few games in the playoffs. This could be the year that Evadale shuts out ever team in dist. That would be nice, to give up no points, I dont think it has ever been done before. Burkeville will be on the field with Evadale this year buddy if i recall burkeville only gave up 18 points last year.
But did not score any either which is the point that Blue was trying to make.
 18. I believe that the Bulldogs would love to throw a kink in the Rebels season and make up for last season. However, I know that the team is focusing on the task at hand (namely Colmesneil) and that they will be ready to come out an play a great game. I know that the Bulldogs have some big plans for this season, I just believe that they will have to wait another week to get on track with those plans. Let's go Rebels!
 19. 20. Got to give the edge to the Pirates in this one.
 21. The Rebels defeated a good team last night. The Trinity roster had about five players of 250+. In speaking to the radio guy who broadcast the game he said that the Tiger defense was very quick. The Rebels had 251 yards rushing last night on 44 carries a 6 yard average per play! Take out the fumbles and I believe that the game is not really close. The Rebel defense had held the Tigers to 10 yards of offense at the end of the 3rd quarter and only allowed 120 for the game. Those are the Maxpreps stats. The team is 3-0. They have won 20 regular season games in a row dating back to 2008. They have two shutouts. They have two "w's" over 2A schools. They are positioned to run the table again (yes, they have to play every one of them on the schedule, but they are 3-0), the team played solid and won. The Rebels will not likely face a team as quick as Trinity between now and the playoffs and as conditioning continues to improve and the tempatures get cooler things will only look better and better for the team. All the Rebels do is keep winning and that is fine with me!
 22.

If Evadale plays like they are capable of then it will be a long night for the Tigers. If they play like last week, things could get interesting
I AGREE COULD BE A LONG NIGHT FOR THE REBELS UNLESS THEY PLAY WELL ::)
Played well enough! 20th consecutive regular season win in a row for the Rebels. The streak dates back to week 4 of the 2008 season. The Rebels have some things to work on just like every other team playing, but the defense now has two shut outs in three games and more importantly three wins in three games. The remaining 6 games are all games that the Rebels will compete in and I believe will win. The team played together last night and I know great things are still on the way for this team!
 23. Great job Jackets! Getting the 1st 6 man win is terrific. Glad to hear that you got it. I hope everyone is enjoying the new brand of football. You need to strap it on for next week as you will be playing the Odessa Periman of 6 man, Throckmorton! They will just keep coming and they know how to play the game. Good luck and again contratulations on the 1st victory.
 24. Don't know who all is in it, but I do want to wish the Lady Rebels success, since I know they are there.
 25. Polls are just a bunch of posters having fun! It's kinda like the BCS without the bowl games. The top ranked team in the 1A poll will never get a "Hoosiers" chance to play the #1 5A team, so let us have our fun. No one is going to be stoned to death for getting it wrong or win a million bucks for getting it right. IT IS JUST FUN TO HAVE SOMETHING TO SPARK THE CONVERSATION!
