1. Give us a day or so to get the stats posted. These were two very interesting and exciting games that we hope to expand even further in the future.
2. just wanted to extend one final invitation to everyone to come out and see the two all star games. They will be in the afternoon at 1 and 3 PM. The Evadale Catfish Festival is excited about having the opportunity to get these young men back in uniform and back on the court one last time. They have thrilled us all many of them from very early ages and for most this will be there last time to hit the floor and hear the crowds. The tickets are all available at the door $5 for adults and $3 for 12 and under both games will be in the Evadale gym and it is right in the heart of all the activities going on this weekend. The festival itself will be open from 10 AM to 11 PM. There is a car show, a cook off, the all star games, craft and food booths, a carnival, the Louisiana Scramble Band will be on stage in the afternoon and the Still Cruisin' Band will be on at night everything will wind down with a fireworks show at 11 PM. No admission price to get on the grounds so why not make a day out of it and come on out to the Biggest Little Festival in Southeast Texas...The Evadale Catfish Festival! See you in Evadale.
3. I think that the comment about the 2 out of 3 series is correct, but this year it is a combination of offense and pitching. Coach Williams has pitched Tucker, Franklin, DuBose, Potts, Harvey, Ousley, Swift and Murphy, Nichols even got in an inning last week on the hill. I doubt you can find too many teams that have tried out that many arms in a season. Now that does not mean that they all throw 85+, but with hitting it has to do with figuring the pitcher out you might do it early, but we have all seen someone get in a groove only to have the other team switch hurlers and then that hitter does not come close to another base hit. The Rebel pitching staff is very deep and I believe that their arms will be the difference in a run to Austin. The Rebels will face some good arms from here on out, but the #1 from a team will have a hard time pitching three games especially early in the playoffs when coaches are thinking about the next round when they will need that ace once again. This year the Rebels have played team ball and have the record to prove that they will be a force in the playoofs. This team made a deep run last year befor falling to Maud in the Regional semis, they remember what that felt like and believe me they do not want to experience that again. I believe the Rebels will take it a series at a time and take care of business each step of the way!
4.

Burkeville Chester High Island Sabine Pass Evadale Will evadale take it easy?
Evadale will have a very good team next year. Ill say them then Burkeville then High Island. As for the D-1 side, Lovelady will take it with West Sabine & maybe Hull. Sorry HD, just not all that great anymore but should still make the playoffs in the 3rd or 2nd seed.
It was my understanding that only two teams going to the playoffs in new D1 D2 format to eliminate bye weeks for district champions, back to bi district for everyone?
5. The Evadale Catfish Festival will get underway on Thursday night, May 6th. This is a family friendly event that everyone is invited to. Entertainment includes the James Hare Band on Thur, Cosmic Chaos on Fri, and the Louisiana Scramble Band and the Still Cruisin' Band on Sat. Discount carnival tickets are available at the Eastex Federal Credit Union in Evadale. Saturday will feature a motorcycle run sign in begins at 8 AM, a horseshoe tournament with sign in beginning at 9 AM, the car and bike show and the cook off begin at 10 AM. The 2A/3A All Star game will be at 1 PM and the 1A game will start at 3 both games will be in the Evadale gym. Over 60 vendors and exibitors will be on the grounds of the Evadale school campus located on FM 105 a half mile south of Hwy 96. There is no admission fee and limited free parking. If you are looking for some great family fun on Mother's Day weekend consider yourself invited to the Biggest Little Festival in Southeast Texas...The Evadale Catfish Festival!
6. Congrats to the Mustangs for finishing well! All to often players and teams just go through the motions when there is "nothing" to play for, but I say PRIDE is something that always matters. To the seniors, know that you left it on the field and you can look back and say we never quit! We will see you guys in the fall, have a great summer.
7. This year the Rebels are 19-1 overall and 14-0 in district play. In the 14 district games they scored 209 runs which averages out to 15 runs per game. They scored in double digits in all but one game scoring 8 in that game. They scored 20 runs in 5 different games. The run total is impressive, but it could have been worse by a mile as Coach Williams often played JV players up in game inserting them into the lineup in later innings or having players bunt and only advancing one base at a time now matter what the situation. This has been a great year for the Rebels from the start of pre season football right though today and further in the baseball playoffs. Football District Champions            Basketball 3rd in District Track District Champions Baseball District Champions And 2010-2011 looks just as bright for the Rebels and their fans! Oh, by the way the weight room framing began this morning and should be complete in just a few weeks and in time for summer weight training.
8. High School sports is a funny thing. You can be up one year and down the next or the other way around. Texas Football has a section every year for the teams that have made the biggest turn around and drop from the season before. I know Coach Rose from his time at Evadale and I believe that he will have the Mustangs on the rise in the seasons to come. It is easy to win games it is harder to be a true winner. I for one do not subscribe to the Nike saying that second is the first loser. Our kids are more than the final score or their season record. We all want them to be successful, but we all must learn that sometimes things do not work out and we have learn how to overcome losses. Hold your heads up Mustangs, better things are coming your way and most of them have little to do with a bat or a glove and everything to do with the heart covered by your uniform.

[ Anyone thinking this is feasible hasn't done the math.
Here's a comparison Evadale-62 mls,Burkeville-63 mls,H I,-105 mls,Sabine Pass-104 mls, Chester's saving 225 mls staying in the 11 man district as long as they are able.
Most districts are spoiled when it comes to travel. Have you ever looked at some of the West Texas districts. Check the mileage between San Angelo and Lubbock as they have been in the same district of late.
10. I believe that the Rebels are now 19-1 with a double header against Leggett at home on Friday. Not to count chickens before they hatch, but the Rebels should win both games easily to move above 20 wins. Bewteen games on Friday there will be a commenoration of the 2000 State Champion team. This years team has drawn several comparisions to the 2000 team and everyone in Evadale hopes that history can repeat itself even 10 years later. Coach Willams and his staff have brought Evadale to within reach of the heights that the program saw in 2000 and 2001. District championships in football for the last two years, baseball for the last three year and track and a third place finish in basketball this year are nothing to take lightly. Some would say that it is the competition, but no one gets to pick the district that they play in. You can only do what you have to to win against who the state places you with. Next year the Rebels will compete in Division 2 in football but Division 1 in basketball so the Rebels may have caught a couple of breaks, but they will be tough to beat in all sports. The Rebel baseball team has plenty left in the tank for another run in the playoffs like last year. It should be the prelude to another banner year for the Rebels in 2010-2011. Plenty of seniors coming back in all sports with experienced juniors in many positions as well. The future looks bright now all the Rebels have to do is take care of business.  I have not even talked about the Lady Rebels who return a core group of young ladies in all sports after they won district in basketball and look like they will finish second in softball. The students are Rebels "with" a cause!
11. We are awaiting confirmation on a couple of players but here are the rosters for this years Catfish Festival All Games 2A/3A White Jerseys                           Dark Jerseys Jakeenen Cotton WOS               Zach Hayes Orangefield Anthony Noble WOS                  Garrett Granger Orangefield Darius Davis WOS                     Bruden Smith Orangefield Jordan Tarver Anahuac              Jacoby Turner Hardin-Jefferson Braxton Mayes Anahuac             Phillip Kicassa Hardin-Jefferson Thaddius Johnson Anahuac        Blake Venable Hardin-Jefferson Damarcus Tealer Kountze          Jacoby Carrington East Chambers Troy Whisenant Kountze            Josh Adamson East Chambers                                               James Green East Chambers 1A White Jerseys                             Dark Jerseys Daniel Blankenship Spurger         Felix Jones Sabine Pass Jonathan Hutto Spurger               Nigel Wasson Sabine Pass Joshua Bowen Chester                 Drew Carlos Sabine Pass Dalton Woodrome Chester            Devon Newman West Sabine Jerrod Herrington Evadale            Zach Garrett West Sabine Casey Stringer Evadale                Shelby Lamberth West Hardin Colton Whitehead Evadale            Ben Miller West Hardin Mitchell Ballard Evadale These are the final rosters for both games. The 2A/3A game will be played at 1 PM with the 1A game to follow at 3 PM. This year the players will wear their school uniforms and their number so fans can see which school each player hails from. As the only All Star basketball game in SETX this year the Catfish Festival is excited to present this special event which will be the final time for players to wear their school colors in a game. Tickets are only available at the door. $5 for adults and $3 for children. The proceeds of the gate will go to the Catfish Festival King and Queen Scholarship Fund which will award up to three $1000 scholarships to Evadale students. Chances will be sold for a few of fans to shoot half court shots during each game and between the games for a chance to split the pot, again the proceeds will go to the scholarship fund. We hope all SETX basketball fans will make the effort to come out and see both of these exciting contests featuruing some of the best high school talent in the area from 12 different high schools.
12. Thanks Grad and all the voters for showing some love for the Rebels! This group has played so well this year with the loss to WOS being their only L. The Rebels can clinch the district crown tonight with a win at WH. The team has a double header scheduled against Leggett on Friday and berween games they will honor the State Champion team from 2000. The Rebels still have a few games on the schedule including one with a very tough team from Shepherd. But things look good for a run in the 1A playoffs and everyone is hopeing that it lasts all the way to Austin (Hutto actually). Well again thanks for the love!

14. The Rebels have played extremely well this season and look to go far in the playoffs. The Sharks have some talent and as was pointed out had the lead going into the Rebel's half of the final inning. The Rebels have gone a couple of years now without a distirct loss and I am not sure that the Sharks even at home have enough to overtake the Rebels. It should once again be a good game but I have to give the edge in the game and district to the Rebels.
15. The Bobcats have been playing much better baseball of late, but just don't think they have enough to upset the Rebels and their high powered offense.
16. Great job Rebels in breaking into the top ten, With the last half of district remaining and a couple of more upper classification games your sights should be firmly set on making a run in the state playoffs.
17. Another good win stepping up in against a 2A opponet. Just keep rolling Rebels!

We try to have a good time and we hope that we provided a good expereience for all the athletes and schools that participated. See you in the fall!
I had a great time up there, Rebel Yeller. Loved the DQ story!! I really enjoyed being there yesterday. Got to meet some very nice folks, including Joharr73. Talked with some of the coaches that I haven't got to talk to in sometime, ate some great food, and watched some great athletes perform. It was a very good day. I look forward to doing it again. I want to thank Coach Williams, Coach Conner and all the folks up in the pressbox for their hospitality and their help. It was greatly appreciated.
You are welcom in Rebel  Land anytime. Be sure to drop by the Catfish Festival May 6-8!

20. Rebels keep on rolling!
21.
I know it would be hard to fill up a schedule, but what about a move to 6 man football for Chester?
This past season Chester had to cancel their last couple of games. If they are in the same position next season I can't imagine how they would have a choice. I don't want players hurt and I know that is why this season was shelved, but you can't keep having opponents schedule games only to be left without games when the roster is so depleated that you can't field a team. The choice would be 6 man or no football. It is difficult, but there is the fairness issue for the other teams on the Chester schedule.
22. Pre Meet Favorites using the times and distances from the Rainey Relays that most of the schools attended.
