1. Evadale returns every starting lineman on offense and defense as well as several reserve linemen. They also return their starting quarterback, one starting running back and two reserves, three starting linebackers and two reserves. Their starting free safety returns. A couple of injuried players should return at receiver with several players ready to move off the JV squad to try to repeat the 10-0 season and make a run in the Div 2 1A playoffs.
 2. The Rebels remained unbeaten in district play by defeating the Bobcats by 39 tonight at the Rebel Gym. If the Pirates from Spurger can defeat West Hardin tonight then the match up will be set for Friday night in Spurger as the winner of that game will win the first half of district and have the inside track to the district 25A championship. Should be a great game on Friday night. The Lady Rebels won tonight to begin the second half of district and go to 6-0 The Rebel JV also won tonight and is undefeated in district play too.
 3.
those dugouts are tiny and too close to not have any type of fence in front or short wall in front.
Just wanted you to know spoonbill that they powers that be must have been listening as there is now a fence in front of both dugouts at the baseball field. Does not make them bigger, but with the fence moved out from the front players will be able to place gear gags on the fence to free up space inside the dugouts.
 4.

Part one of the question will get answered on Friday.
Do you think its gona be a packed house Yeller?
I believe that Evadale will do thier part and I know the guys from Spurger will do theirs. With that being said I can imagine that Pirate Gym should be rocking pretty good come Friday night.
 5. Fences on the softball and the baseball fields are both complete with the baseball field getting its own version of the "Green Monster". 2/3rds of the fence is about 6 foot but the height goes to about 16 foot front left center to the corner. This will make hitting homers a bigger chore for right handed hitters. Looking forward to hosting games in just a few weeks after the basketball playoffs that is!
 6. Part one of the question will get answered on Friday.
 7. Would I be the only person that would like to see Kountze and Yates play in a warm up game before the playoffs get underway? WOW! That game would be worth a ticket!
 8.

Sorry if you are confounded by facts!
im confounded that you put so much effort into your posts. lol.
Just making a point!
 9.
I have seen all 3 teams play (Spurger and Evadale both played Silsbee) and Spurger wins this district hands down. They have the better team and the better players. Evadale and SP will battel for second with the other getting 3rd. I can see SP defeating Evadale at their place. We'll see. Neither team will beat Spurger.
I will admit that the Rebels played badly against Silsbee, but since both teams (Evadale and Spurger) lost to the tigers by wide margins, I am not sure you can make the comparison. I know that Spurger has a talented team and has shown well in most all of their games this season. But the Rebels have begun to gel as a team. There were some rough spots around the holidays, but those seem to be in the rear view mirror now and the offense and defense are coming together nicely. The combination of Stark and Tucker on the inside and Murphy and Totten on the outside can be difficult for teams to match up with. Herrington is adjusting to his point guard role and he had a three point shot as well if team sag ito the paint. The offense is sroring over 60 points in district while limiting teams to under 35, even with the SP points last Friday. The Rebels are also seeing great pressure from their substitues on the press. There are six fresh bodies that can come in off the bench and keep the pressure on. SP went up early by 12 on the Rebels, but the pressure wore them down and allowed the Rebels secure the victory in the end. The Rebels and the Pirates seem to be on a colision course with both teams being 3-0 now with one game each before they meet on Friday. I believe that if the Rebels continue to play team ball and continue to improve the score and even the outcome could be different than the prediction will be going.
 10. The Rebel basketball program has made a steady progression under Coach Wilkins now in his third year. Just as in football and in baseball in a little over a month the Rebels benefit with the numbers that allow for a full junior varsity schedules that mean playing time for younger players and not just riding the varsity bench. This years Rebel basketball team has again a mixture of underclassmen that complement three seniors on the eleven man squad. This group of athletes just knows how to win and now they are doing it in whatever sport they compete in. All the school have at Evadale competes against have fine athletes, but it is hard to argue with the combination of numbers and quality of the athletes that make for a difficult combination to overcome. It has been that way with the Evadale girls program for several years and now the boys are showing that same competitive level. Success breeds success and with the continued upgrades in the facilities that will allow younger Rebels to carry on that pride I can see even greater accomplishments in the near future as well as many years to come.
 11. Congrats Rebels! Continue to play as a team and who knows what will happen. Sorry I misssed the game, had a higher calling tonight that I had to attend to. Over 400 people accepting Christ at the Hot Hearts conference at Ford Park was even better than the Rebel victory. By the way the Rebels won all four junior high games against SP on Thursday and the three high school games tonight, great job to ALL the Rebels!
 12. The Evadale baseball schedule is out and Buna is not on it. This topic is dead for this year, but if you folks from Buna want to keep bashing each other on the head with your posts go right ahead. I hope both teams have great seasons and end up in Round Rock at the State Tournament!
 13. I think this will be a statement game by the Rebels. They are playing well and scoring better than they have in years. I know that SP has a quality ball club and it should be an outstand high school basketball game I just believe that the Rebels will win this one by 6 to 10 points.
 14. All three of those young ladies are or were super talents. Holly and Bridget are both teaching and coaching, Holly has even gotten to go head to head with her old coach this season. Bailey like the Holly and Bridget has benefited from one of the best run girls program anywhere at any level. Coach Hollyfield works his team hard, but he knows what it takes to compete from district on up. Bailey and the rest of the Lady Rebels have a chance to make waves in the playoffs after they take care of business in district. Oh, by the way the talent stream continues to be filled with young Lady Rebels and it would not surprise me to see the list of 1000 point players continue to grow in the years to come.
 15. Thanks for the info and have a great day in HI today!

1880 I know you guys have a lot of work going on and it looks like you are making some great upgrades to facilities at HI, but I was just wondering what was up with the rules sheet? Has there been a problem with unruley fans (visiting or home) I can say that basketball is well known as the sport where heckeling from the crowd is a given. I was also wondering who's responsibility it was to enforce those rules? I was not bother by them in the least but there were three kids that played football behind the HI bench for what seemed to be half of every game played last night. Let me say too that you have a scrappy group of girls and a firey coach. I hope that the injuries from last night are not serious and that all the girls are able to come back strong quickly.

1880, just a question whats up with the rules sheet that was handed out to people as they entered the gym? I have seen things posted on the wall, but I do not believe I have ever been handed a rules sheet as I entered a building. Has something happened recently that got bad or what?

Evadale 60 High Island 11
I know the score doesn't show it, but the Lady Cards fought hard all night.  Losing your starting PG and 2 guard really hurt.  I know that the PG came back in the second half.  But the younger players got some valuable pt tonight.  Good luck on Friday.

With all of the work that is taking place around the school, administration just wants to try and keep it up to par.  You guys saw what was going on with our roof on the gym.  When bball is over, they are going to go in and fix up the front of the gym, new doors and entrance, along with new doors on the back of the gym as well.  Plus fix up the locker rooms.  Its just alot of things that are long over due.

We have had some fans get a little out of control, but thats normal.  Just our way saying do right or you will not be allowed in.  And those kids were graduates that sat behind the bench.  You know how has beens are.  And those two girls are okay from what I hear, they will be ready for Friday night. 18. The Rebels continue to improve as they rolled to 49 point win at High Island tonight. I will hand it to the Cards they fought hard, but the Rebels pressure defense was the difference as the Rebels turned turn overs into lay ups for easy scores. Coach Wilkins got to get everyone a good amount of playing time including Brandon Bruce who is returning to action for the first time since early in the season when he wen down with an ancle injury. The inside game with Tucker and Starks is really starting to click and Murphy and Herrington are keeping defenses honest with 3's and jump shots. Totten is a force on both ends of the floor and with players able to come off the bench things are looking up for the Rebels. Friday's game against Sabine Pass will tell alot about how the season will play out. Good job Rebels!
 19. If the Sharks only beat the Oilers by 15 thier trip to Evadale could be very interesting on Friday. The Rebels margin over the Oilers was 36 at WH. Last Friday night was a good night for the Rebels as they won both JV and both varsity games at WH.
 20. Now I get why you use the video clip you do.

The Evadale ISD is upgrading several athletic facilities on the campus. Baseball - A new outfield wall is replacing the chainlink fence that presently streaches from foul pole to foul pole and renovations are being made to the press box above the concession stand.
Its a good thing they didnt stop in left center or anything foolish like that
21. The Evadale ISD is upgrading several athletic facilities on the campus. Baseball - A new outfield wall is replacing the chainlink fence that presently streaches from foul pole to foul pole and renovations are being made to the press box above the concession stand. Softball - Also getting a new outfield wall, an elevated press box and a new scoreboard. Football - An expanded concession stand with more serving windows, additional bleachers being added on the home side, renovation and expansion of the press box and conversion of the old weight room at the west end of the stadium as a visitors dressing room. These are in addition to the newly renovated and resurfaced track, increased field lighting and the new sound system at the stadium.  Weight Room - A new weight room will be constructed between the football and baseball fields. This facility will allow for increased weights and the ability to host power lifting meets in the future. These upgrades when added to the gym will make Evadale's athletic facilities among the best in the area for any school at any classification. These projects in addition to the new Ag barn presently under construction are the last items from a bond that was passed by voters four years ago. Other things that were done were the construction of a new wing on the elementary and junior high school. Including new science and computer labs. The high school recieved a renovated science and computer lab. The entire school was networked, new video cameras were installed for security and several other projects that will enhance the educational experience for students and teachers.
 22. I just wanted to say to the East Chambers ISD that your new gym is very nice. My son played in the JV tournament last weekend and that was the first chance I had to see your new place and I can say from design to function it is great. Hope you enjoy playing in your new place as much as Evadale enjoys playing at ours. It will spoil you especially when you have to travel some place where they only have bleachers.
 23. Congrats to the Lady Rebels! Just keep playing your game and improving game to game.
 24. Sorry if you are confounded by facts!
 25. Interesting that you say they WH girls played dirty then in next sentence say "Oilers did good but have played better." Do you think they could play dirtier? or not so dirty? Just a question.
