Looking to me like it will be simular to last years game, Rebel by 10!

Great Win for the Rebels defense was awesome - SP had -2 yards of offense in first half. Best highlight was a 105 yard return of a missed field goal attempt by Billy Nichols. Rebels got a couple brused. Time for the match up with HD!

Evadale 7th lost 8-0 to Buna 8th grade won 58 - 0 over Sabine Pass Jacob Conners 3 TD's It was 50 to 0 at the half.

Tend to agree with you Gregg...You never know, the ball has a funny shape to it and it tends to take some strange bounces. Everyone stay healthy and may the best teams win! If we get the rain that is predicted for the rest of this week any ball that makes it to the ground is more likely to make a splash than take a funny bounce!

West Brook, Ozen and Central beat BC, HJ, Hardin and Anahuac by 3 tds each. What's your point! I did not vote Evadale onto this poll, I like that they are there. We play the teams we are supposed to play. We played two 2A teams in non district and one private. We did what we were supposed to do in the immortal words of Herm Edwards, we played to win the game! The Rebels did just that. I said it last year that this poll is too wide and that comparing different classifications would definately start people talking. Evadale could possibly go undefeated and your statement might still be true. I just poke a stick in this hornets nest every once in a while to get people talking. Nothing that gets said here is going to change what happens on the field, court or diamond one bit. I just root for the Rebels and expect everyone else to root for their team. Thats the way it should be and the way that I hope it stays.

Would it help you if it was posted that Evadale is the best 1A team in the area? They have been the only 1A team in the poll. The state poll is JUST a 1A poll, big difference. I think your underestimating High Island, they are not the same team as they were last year they came to play this yr i think you will see that this week We shall see!

Great Job Rebels Funny how you can make it into consideration for the AP Top 10 in the state on an off week, but you drop a place in the SETX regional poll. Go figure?

Not really pointing at you Champion My comments were more directed at those who have a problem with this kind of post. I just used yours as my quote since it had quoted others, but going back I realized that you were by no means downing the thread.

Curiosity did kill him though. Good point! See i thought it was something like satisfaction. You know all it really takes is will power. I have never once gone to a post of STJFL or any other junior football post. But I am sure if I did then I would read about posts from people who think just as much about their "junior" team as some think about their JV. This forum is for people who want to talk about what they want to talk about. Smaller communities do not have junior leagues, so they talk about the JV or junior high, thats just the way it is. If you want to join in great! If you don't then at least quit downing the people who do want to talk about it. Everybidy loves their kids and goes to their games, spending money for gas, money for tickets, money for t-shirts, posters and even face paint to follow their kids and their games. With those things in mind posting a few things about them on this site seems more than OK! just a thought!

This one could get ugly as the Rebels will not be bringing the JV to this one. 48 minutes of the varsity and they will be rested and ready! Rebels 48 or more Sharks 7 or less Seen film of their game against Deweyville and I just don't think the Sharks can hang with the Rebels this year.

OK to those of you who are 23A guys its time to pick em. All the non district games are completed and I would like to know where you believe the eight teams in district will finish. So pick em 1-8. We will see who was right in early November 1. Evadale 7-0 2. Hull-Daisetta 5-2 3. Colmesneil 4-3 3. West Hardin 4-3 Playoff spot determined by who wins game between Colm and WH 5. High Island 3-4 6. Chester 2-5 7. Sabine Pass 1-6 8. Burkeville 0-7 Thats how I see it tonight, Sept 19th. Injuries and grades can make changes happen, so we will see! Good luck to all the coaches, players and fans. See yo all in the next seven weeks.

The Rebel JV has a game next week as they are playing West Hardin at WH on Thursday night. So the varsoty will have to play the whole game against the Sharks. I too, see the Rebels winning this game I just think this is once again the Rebels year. You win the ones that you are supposed to win taking care of the rack and your business.

My Bad SP for predicting that the Warriors would come out on top of this one. Great win for the Sharks and we are looking forward to the Rebels trip down to the Shark Tank this Friday night!

I'll be interested to hear from the HD faithful about this one. They explained away their first two losses to Hardin and Tenaha as playoff teams or potential playoff teams, but from utfan06's post the Lions picked up their first win of the year with Brey only seeing limited action and Howard only playing the 4th Q for disipline reasons and no Woods on the defensive side. Now I was not at teh game so I am commenting on what I read and from the spotty highlights on Channel 6. If 06's facts are in question then I want to know. I will get other reports from some of the Evadale fans who went to the game as we were off tonight. So lets hear the Bobcats side of this one. I might want to reconsider my picks this week when it comes to the HD/HI game, maybe...maybe not.

The Evadale Rebels this year Seniors 7 Juniors 11 Sophomores 4

The Rebel JV are now 3-0 for the season. QB Devon Murphy threw two TD passes to Shawn Totten on for 35 yds and the other for 20 yds. Freshman RB Sklyar Smith scored on a 35 yd run. Having this program in place for the past couple of years has given Evadale a huge boost including the 3 wins this season the Rebel JV record is 16 -3 in the past two years +3 games. The Rebels travel to WH next week as they enter the heart of their schedule. They have 9 games scheduled for this year, but seeing that High Island has a team they may have a 10th game for this season. Great job JV Rebels keep things rolling!

Let us not forget oh Rebel brethern, that Mark Williams has a State Champion to his credit, what should be worrying all the area baseballers is the fact that Williams turning the varsity over to BB means that he can spend time with the JV players helping them to develop so the Rebel baseball fortunes look great and they should keep coming for years to come.
