  1. I agree with DP#1 that this should be the small school game of the week, but I must disagree with SteelerCzy and take the Rebels in this one.
  2. Glad to hear about Taylor's surgery Said a pray for that young man Monday morning as I knew he would be spending time with Dr's. Hope his recovery and rehab goes flawlessly. He will need lots of support and encouragement and I am sure the the HD family will rally around him and keep his spirits up. Please keep us posted on his progress!
  3. I agree with DC9 It is sharp, but I liked the blue helmet. Many moons ago I played in Fort Worth and each school has their own colored helmets, at times in the past few years budget has dictated that only white be purchased for schools with a sticker on the side. Some looked good that I saw, (none as good as the Buna White I might add) but having the colors on top just always seemed like a statement instead of a generic. I say again the Buna white looks very very nice, I am just more of a color helmet guy. Good luck to the Cougars this season!
  4. Hey HI A JV squad that is super! Man you guys have come a long way in a short time, but enough young men to play a JV schedule that is out of sight. I know this will help your teams continue to improve as the younger guys get the opportunity to play instead of just stand and watch and be blocking and tackling stand ins at practice. You will be amazed at the excitement that it builds in the younger players as they get to shine against competition that in most cases is on their level. I can see a time in the near future when these young men will flex their Thursday night experience as a real possitive for Cardinal football on Friday nights. OUTSTANDING!
  5. Mo Don't you mean I'll keep you posted!
  6. To any of you 23A guys I am looking for people who can call and give updates on scores during the games on Friday nights. We like to give out scores from the press box, but we need them to give them send me a personal message that you would be interested in calling me and sharing scores and I will give you my cell number Thanks
  7. Aggie Just tell me what you think once you have been to Diboll.
  8. My bad 0422 I heard that three HD players were hurt in the Hardin game. Not trying to start anything, thats just what I heard. Still think Tenaha will be tough to beat but it could be closer than the score I posted earlier.
  9. I know the Bobcats will put up a fight, but Tenaha is a speed factory and the Bobcats have some big shoes to fill due to injuries. I think that Teneha will take this one 28 to 14. I do know that the replacements for the injuried Bobcat players will step up, it is just a bit much to ask them to play to the same level as those they are replacing in only a week. Now they may surprise me, but replacing 3 (25% of a team) people in one week that is tough. Good luck to the Bobcats as I always want our district to do well in non distirct action. 23A needs the props of being a tougher district than most outside our district give it credit for.
  10. On the sideline in Deweyville taking pictures for the Buna Beacon of of course our Evadale Rebels. Hey Aggies... You are going to love the Diboll press box the Rebels played Mount Enterprise there a few years back and I called the game. It is super and you will not want to leave. Let me know what you think next week.
  11. Watched the Rebels Friday night. Saw some of the film of the Deweyville/Sabine Pass game. Rebels 28 Pirates 14
  12. Is Hunter also from HD? If so this could be a very tough way to start the Bobcats season.
  13. Sorry to hear about the injury to young Mr. Taylor. It is hard to sit with an injury at any time, but I know he is devestated as this was his last year to play. We all wish him as speedy a recovery as possible and that his recovery will be 100%!
  14. My bad earlier I should have nominated the entire Rebel defense as they held Legacy to 26 total yards for the game! forced 6 fumbles recoving one, had two ints, and a dozen losses behind the line of scrimmage. The Warriors had 50 yards of offense at the half and -24 in the second half.
  15. Shelby Stanley from Evadale 14 Carries 183 yards 2 touchdowns, had one called back on a penalty
  16. The Rebels begin their march back to the playoffs TONIGHT! Go get em Rebels!
  17. Hey all you 23A fans We need to exchange press box or announcer phone numbers so we can keep up with scores during games. If you have a number for your team please PM me and I will give you our press box. If you are an area team that is not 2A and want to give us your number then you are welcome to PM me as well. Hope everyone has a great Friday night under the lights!
  18. Hope you have a great season too! Except against us of course!
  19. Here is what I know Warren defeated Woodville 2-1 in an exciting championship Evadale defeated East Chambers for 3rd place 2-0 Dont know who won the consolation game
  20. Last night the Rebels looked very good on defense and the offense is improving every day. I am sure that Coach Will played his cards close to the vest last night and was still doing player evaluations. I feel confident that the Rebels will come out to play every down and even having the target on their backs as the defending district champions they will rise to the top of the district once again. Out with the scrimmages and on with the real games!
  21. I am from Evadale and I take offense that I talk trash about any other team. Yes I do support the Rebels, but I am too busy talking about the good things on our team to spend time downing someone else. I do hope that all the teams in our district do well. It should be noted that we all need stiff competition in order to get ready for the playofffs, WHOEVER MAKES ITS! I don't want any team to beat the Rebels, period. But I want a season full of exciting games that test every team so whoever makes it as our district reps will be hard to beat by any other opponents.
  22. You have to love 23-1A! I know there are fans of schools in all districts, but one thing is for sure. There are plenty of FANatics in 23-1A. We will all be glad when the prelims are over and the real hitting begins. You just gotta love 23-!A!
  23. The Lady Rebels won pool A of their tournament today. They were 5 wins and 1 loss on the day. They defeat Deweyville 2-0, Cleveland 2-0 and split with Corrigna Camden, but they gave up less points in their win than C-C did. This puts them playing the runner up from Pool C which plays games tomorrow. The Lady Rebels seem to be playing with plenty of heart and they are getting the feel of each other on the court. The chemistry seems to be good and the team seems to be having fun doing it the way it is supposed to be done. The Lady Rebel record stands at 4-1-1 (I presume that the tie with C-C would stand that way) They have yet to play a 1A school so far this season and the only loss is to East Chambers. It looks to be a very good year for the Lady Rebels!
