I second that. I have much more pride in my school than some of these posters who don't care that they're giving all of Lumberton a bad name. I'm proud of how this year's senior class stepped their game up and exceeded everyone's expectations and made playoff and co-district champs again. That said, I'll let this next sentence say the rest: I'll be rooting for DAYTON to take the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. Go Broncs! =D

I fully agree. Talked to Scott Purks #7 on Monday. They know all about Crosby's speed. Don't worry; they're taking care of business and will be all week.

I do know that Lumberton will the be Home team vs. Crosby in Humble. No clue about the others though.

Couldn't agree more. I've known Bryce DeJohn since I was a freshman (he was in my Geometry class, and PreCalculus class) and when last year was over, one of my questions going into this year was "who's going to fill the spot of QB?" Hughes had the answer. =)

Well with all fairness, we've all seen teams that have been no more than decent with a star that carried them further than they could have. Let's not underestimate them and put ourselves into that situation. Better to err on the cautious side, eh?

Good post... no one can guarantee a dayton win in the first round or of region III but we are shaping up to be the favorite. It's all cyclical... for so long, the region has gone through LM, TC and others. Now that is changing. Livingston seems to be trending upward in level of play as dayton has been doing for several years. Win or lose on saturday, I think the future is bright in Livingston. Great post by you as well. Nice to seem some encouraging words towards another team!

I am not sure why everyone keeps saying Nederland has NO DEFENSE, well I know there are 11 guys out there working their butts off at practices and at the games. They get NO respect. These guys aren't really very big which means they have to work that much harder. Maybe you might think they have no heart, but i know at least one that plays with all heart. He loves the game and he might not be the biggest mofo out there, but he plays his best and does what they tell him to do with no complaints. He is just happy to be a BULLDOG! I'll take bulldogs by 7! Well said! I'm glad there are some true black and gold fans out there who think about what they're typing before they hit "post."

Yeah it's starting to drive me nuts lol. You'd think people would realize that the people spelling it as "Hanna" aren't just leaving off an "H" on the end for nothing... haha

Chance Casey led the nation in both of the hurdles for the better part of last year. He is extremely fast... not a great FOOTBALL player but a very good one. If he gets loose.... GONE. just don't let him get loose. Yeah exactly ... a mistake here and there could result in a TD here and there. All those hurdling skills HAVE to help him get away from a few tackles.

I agree. Central knows how to win when it counts, IMO. That's what I was thinking (referring to the Nederland game), but again, I know nothing about NF. =(

In order of % confidence: 1. Dayton 2. Lumberton 3. C.E.King Not going to try Central/North Forest (don't know anything about NF, so I can't really put up a prediction)

Lumberton fans, it's easy to get caught up in the season and say that Crosby is basically an auto-win, but there are a couple factors that might be deceiving. First of all, they're in the same district as Dayton, so one loss on their record could have easily been a W in our 20-4A district. Second, I was talking to Scott Purks in one of my classes today and it would appear that the RB or someone on Crosby is the Defending State Champion in Hurdles for Track ... So having said both of those, let's not overlook Crosby and consider them an easy opponent, as most people are doing.

Oh yeah! I knew Scott was there, but for some reason I thought he was an old member ... guess it's all the classes I have with him that make him seem more familiar than the rest. My bad. :-[

Hah I had the pleasure of helping with the induction today as an old member (senior member). Several football players were inducted ... though I don't remember all of them. Matt Burkhalter, Mark Murrill, and Kyler Keith are the ones that I remember.
