It would be different if students and parents knew what was required before they committed to the activity. To tell them after the program started that the district is discontinuing the service that they said would be provide is not fair. It's like telling them midseason that because of budget cuts it will cost you $100 to finished the season.

I agree with the cuts but the district needs to continue transporting for any program that is currently underway. Parents and students started the program with transportation being provided. Parents and students need fair warning if transportation is discontinued. Eliminate transportation for upcoming programs.   Many program practices end after dark. It's a little impractical to say they should walk or ride their bike for miles.

It's unfair to consider all people living in the "ghetto" are bad people. Many just my not have any other choices.   It really doesn't matter how much white people care about black on black killings. Whites can't fix it.   We are creating a dangerous culture when a known thief is shot after challenging and physically assaulting a police officer, then becomes a hero with mass support from a nation, a race, the media, celebrities and even the political realm.

With the BISD funding concerns I think it could be reasonable to request a 10-20% funding cut without doing too much damage to any program.

I go back and forth on my opinion of Perry but I do appreciate his stance and motive for his actions. if it turns out he violated the law, so be it. He'll have to pay the price; while the drunken public official sits in office.

Hippy, if you're looking for an engaging debate you're going to have to quite posting facts with supporting data links. It's a debate killer.

One of the lessons I was taught was to be respectful to the cops when confronted. I was also taught to not be in certain parts of the town after the sun goes down. Just two of many.

911 changed a lot of mentality. If things go bad I don't want to be dependent on our military for local protection.

I think football and other extra curricular activities are necessary simply for fun and interest in school. There need to be enjoyable interest in school. If we just focus on the three Rs students lose interest in school.   Budget cuts in those areas should probably be done but can be done without eliminating programs.

From the very beginning I felt he was more concerned about being accepted worldwide rather than here in the US. He has tried to bridged the global gap expecting respect for his efforts. The respect has not been earned or received.
