Our president has a Muslim name, Kenyan parents and other potential birth discrepancies and some think it's unfair to ask that he prove his birth place. I think it was a justified request.

First of all, any form of true racism is unacceptable. However, prejudice and hate have always existed and always will. To think we can deselect racism from the board prejudiced spectrum is naive. It’s also wrong to label many forms of prejudice as racism.   We live in a day where law enforcement is portrayed as the enemy.   And why is all the focus on the 7%? 

Unemployment rates are almost always inaccurate no matter who's in office. 

Most around here welcome a rational debate (even though they can quickly grow irrational). You're going to have to grow a thicker skin though if you plan on hanging around. :)

It is a good, well thought out, well written post. That is, if you total exclude any higher power influence, or biblical credibility. If you base all our creation and existence on man's logic it's a good view.

As you've stated, you can't pick one small part of the bible to support your view. Sometimes you need the whole bible to understand the true meaning of one scripture. 

I respectfully point out that you appear to be judging all "religious people" without knowing them and judging the contents of the bible without reading it.   Back to the original question; Does God love homosexuals?  YES

I agree with everything the pastor said. However, as a Christian if I am pressed to explain my understand of what I have read in the bible I would have to say there is only one way to the Father and that's through Jesus Christ. Had you pressed the pastor for his understand he would probably have answered the same way.   Kudos Hippy for engaging in a meaningful discussion, especially in the work place.

There may very well be some biological make ups that make homosexuality more enticing (tempting) to some just as someone's biological make up makes the thought of same sex repulsive. we are all created differently, some have more violent tendencies than others. Some are more masculine, some are more feminine regardless of gender. Some can easily become alcoholics while other can't stand the taste. We all have our own temptations and weaknesses to deal with. These difference makes some choices more difficult for some than others   However, homosexuality for example is not even an issue until you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. This makes for a very difficult debate with non believers.
