Most every year during the regular seasons WOS have well less than 30 on the sidelines when many opponents would have 50+, however they usually move up some JV for the playoffs.

Many teams and fans start off a game against WOS confident and feeling good because of the small numbers of Mustang players on the sidelines. WOS opponents out number WOS players two to one. By the end of the first quarter their confidence is tested. Well into the fourth quarter they are surprised because WOS has not tired or slowed down. It should be great game.

Well if anyone watched 139 last night they saw some good fights with one heck of a main event. Henderson and Rua fight was unreal. I gained a lot of respect for both. I hated to see Rua not come up with the win after his comeback.

I don’t know if anyone noticed but I screwed up last week when I started this thread. I thought 139 was last week on FOX but 139 is actually this weekend. Last week was titled UFC on FOX.

True. Back in the day everyone knew Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holyfield, Tyson and even Suger Ray. Even people that knew nothing about boxing knew who they were. I'm showing my age.

I don't watch much boxing but will probably watch the Paq Mayweather fight if it ever happens. Boxing is alive and well but for me it's not what it was when I was growing up. You will always have your true blue die hard boxing fans but to keep the fair weathered fans, boxing needs to keep promotioning big names. Paq's promotion has done a lot for boxing.

Once I became interested in MMA and the many facets of the sport, boxing just seemed to get boring for me. Some MMA fights can also be boring but more often than not with all the tools they have to work with keep it exciting. Just my personal preference. The Clay Gudia and Ben Henderson fight last Saturday was a perfect example.

Boxing may have more PPV fans per fight and may always have but MMA/UFC promotion is the cause for the steady rise in the sport and if the right promotions continue who knows where it will end up. All of the following is helping the popularity grow. Many more quality cards per year. Now we’re getting  more free quality fights per year and free prelims. Many quality rerun fights on TV every week. A big increase in mainstream media coverage of fights and fighters. The UFC even has a reality show. All this put together is working well.

I'm a big MMA fan and just don't care for boxing. I have no arguement about which is better, it's just my preference. Look's like a really good card Saturday JMO - there's not enough posters on here for either sport

I'm sold too. I not big boxing fan though.
