No shades here, I'm not saying Silsbee wasn't much better than Sterling. I saw them in their scrimmage against Nederland, the D was very impressive. I should have made my statement a little clearer, I was trying to refer to the depth compared between the two schools. By the end of the game some of the reserves will have to step up and that's where the Raiders put up their points. Back when I was in HS Newton came to our place and outplayed us for the 1st half two years in a row but in the end PN-G wore them down with the numbers. I do realize the 1st unit only gave up 12 points, thanks for calling me out though, I enjoy talking back and forth on these things. Trust me this is a very dangerous game for PN-G, it's our game of the week, I believe the Tigers could still compete for a playoff spot in 22-4A and should advance out of their killer district.

I went to my first PN-G game in 84, until 89 they were horrible in 5A but it was still packed. Then my first couple of years in HS in 94 and 95 when we were in district with North Shore, West Brook, Lee, etc the games were still sold out on PN-G's side.

I think a big concern for the Tigers is the fact they gave up 32 points to a very weak team. The Raiders were 2-8 last year and this year the highest they are picked is 4th in a district that includes Wheatley, Kashmere, and Worthng not exactly traditional powers. Despite this I think Silsbee's offense can create plenty of fireworks that will lead to many wins. In the end though PN-G will be too much. Silsbee 24 PN-G 35

I have that on tape somewhere, my buddy Billy Morgan was the Indian, that year he quit baseball to become the spirit. It's funny how the story has changed over the years, the bear pushed him from behind but never tackled him, the tape played over and over in the cafeteria that week. I still laugh when thinking about the bear (not in costume) coming to our cafeteria to apoligize to us during lunch. I almost felt bad for that guy.

I really like Vidor, I thought this design always looked best. I never did understand why they switched to white then gold (looked too much like Nederland), but Matthews said he liked the different colors, the kids like black.

And Deweyville, though the actual logo their usuing is the size of Vidor's, this was the orginal that came in too big.

I picked up Vidor and Deweyville today. Both have Tampa Bay logos, Deweyville has a red flag outlined in white on a red helmet, but they might be blank for a couple of weeks, the original decals were way to big. Vidor has black helmets with a gold TB logo, there are also gold Tennessee Titan stripes. I'll have pics tomorrow.
