Just walked in from HJ/Kelly scrimmage, it was still going on. Here's my take on what I saw. Kelly's D looked solid, HJ couldn't move the ball at all. There were two passes picked off by Kelly that would've gone for touchdowns, but they weren't allowed due to being a controlled scrimmage. On the other side Kelly moved the ball at will, at least the 1st team. Jacobie Wilson scored a long touchdown, but it was called back. A few plays later Fazio hit Donnie Corona while scrambling for a 50+ yard gain. Corona was knocked out at the four, from there Wilson took it in. 7-0 Dogs when I left. Kelly is good but not deep. HJ has a lot of work to do, but hey that's what scrimmages are for.

I love covering 1A games, people always remember you there and are always thankful for the coverager. Last year I shot two High Island games, homecoming against Evadale and later against Hull-Daisetta. Only thing about High Island is you better bring your OFF!

GFX at 10, I had it for the early but was only able to mention it. They took time from me right before I went on. It's hard right now for me to get a vo/sot with it considering I get less than 3 minutes and have HS football, the PGA, etc. But trust me guys I'm trying, thanks for the email today.

Rumor is PN-G is getting a new scoreboard with a screen, I guuess they heard about LC-M If I remember right the scoreboard they have now is only a couple of years old, but it did receive hurricane damage. When Lamar became part of the Texas State University system they almost changed their name. That's when SWT officially became Texas State University-San Marcos. Billy Tubbs told me he wanted our name to be Texas State University-Beaumont a couple of years ago. I guess we'll just have to see.
