  1. Some teams like Lumberton and PNG report a lot. In those same ranking PNG is #83 in the nation, #24 in Texas and #7 in 5A.
  2. They’re off to a great start, but those are MaxPreps ratings. Not the most accurate because all games aren’t reported. Lumberton is 15th in latest 4A coaches ratings. Tied West Brook last night, 0-0.
  3. Day 3 LCM 3 PA Memorial West Brook 2 Crosby 1 Dobie 3 Vidor 1 Kelly 4 Hamshire-Fannett 0 Silsbee 4 PNG (JV) 1 Waller 1 Hardin-Jefferson 0 PNG 4 LCM 0 Dobie 7 Hamshire-Fannett 0

  6. Most teams have that issue against United. They’re on another level this year.
  7. 🏈5A-DII Regional (3) Fort Bend Marshall (11-0) vs Nederland (9-2) Saturday 1:00 pm, Turner Stadium - Humble Winner vs Crosby (9-3) or (4) Huntsville (11-0) #409Sports #txhsfb
  8. Stephenville outrushed PNG 238-131. Zac Hunter was leading rusher with 128 yards. Bo Wortham was held to 89. Not about being a homer, but a ten point loss is not getting ripped. They were ripped by Crosby and Texas City this year. 1999 was my first year working at KBMT and I helped cover the game. I graduated in 98.
  9. Ripped em 28–18....14-6 at halftime, 21-12 after 3. Kendall ran for 92 and threw for 130, but it felt like so much more back then. Crazy how those numbers are small nowadays. Long threw for 157 but got picked 3 times.
  10. Crosby was ranked #10 to in the state to start the year and Barbers Hill #9.
  11. Even with the missing players, special teams is what put WOS in a big hole. Blocked punt taken in for a score, 7-0.Fumbled punt at own 8 gave China Spring a short field, 14-0. Cougars then grind a drive out for 21-0. After a trick play makes it 21-7. China Spring’s 2,000 yard rusher breaks it for a huge TD run, 28-7. Then Cougars recover pooch kick that set up a 52-yard TD pass, 35-7. Mustangs fumbled another punt but was able to recover it. China Spring was a top 10 ten team for part of this season. They took advantage of every mistake. A full strength WOS would’ve still been in trouble with those special teams mistakes.
  12. Coach Taylor says the game is postponed and they haven’t settled on a makeup date.
  13. I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t affect them. HF had a positive pop up after they played East Chambers. HF quarantined 70 football players for a required 5 days and got tested. Players were cleared after negative tests. They didn’t miss a game. EC didn’t get quarantined. Different districts and different health departments are handling COVID in much different ways.
  14. Barrow said they are still playing Houston Austin next week.
  15. PNG led 10-0. West Brook was up 14-10 at half. Both teams played backups in the second half. 28-10 final. Ready for next week!
  16. 2005 Bridge City had a shot in 3A-D2. Upset by Hutto in the 3rd round, 27-10. QB Johnny Dishon was injured in a car accident and couldn’t play. Hutto lost by 4 in the State Championship.
