  3. Not in my section, but I couldn’t see everything from my area. I will say PNG doesn’t travel like they did in the late 90’s and before.
  4. PNG will sellout their home side at the Berry Center like they did at CE King. I estimated the PNG crowd to be in the in the 8-10 k range. While Huntsville was around 3k. Thought it looked like 13k plus total. With a digital ticketing system it should be easy for someone with connections to the schools to find out.
  5. Best of The Bay (Aransas Pass) Hardin-Jefferson 65 Corpus Christi Calallen 40
  6. Tarkington 58 Kelly 54 Bridge City 64 East Chambers 45
  7. Best of The Bay (Aransas Pass) Hardin-Jefferson 63 Hallettsville 35
  8. 100-63. Angleton hit a 3 at the buzzer.
  9. This prediction is leaving out Baytown Lee in D2. I don’t see Rudder coming this way.
  10. Lamar hosts high school basketball, baseball and softball games ever single year. So they’re definitely in the high school game. It’s different on Thanksgiving break. I was told Stallworth didn’t have staff available to work either. PNG is having to provide their own limited concessions at CE King because they’re limited on staff as well. Jeff O’Malley is doing a great job at building relationships back up in the community and he realizes how important the high schools are here.
  11. PNG’s crowd is amazing, but I will say Katy has sold out their side of Legacy Stadium multiple times since it’s been built. You can find pictures with the Katy crowd overflowing onto the hills.
  12. Wasn't aware the middle school districts were decided on yet. That's usually decided later. I was just going on what it is currently. Liberty would likely opt up with HJ. So HJ, Liberty, Huffman and Livingston would stay together like middle school. HF also currently plays in the middle school district with those four.
  13. Where I work has nothing to do with this, and I didn't think this was a right or wrong situation. It doesn't affect me in anyway. Schools across the state have opted up for years. I'm called biased for my PNG background and now HJ lol. My parents went to TJ. Grandparents to Hemphill and Orange. So let's throw some more in there haha. We'll leave out the cousins a HF, Bridge City, etc.
  14. Makes scheduling a little easier. You can line up things for varsity down to junior high. It's also nice to compete against teams in middle school/junior high all the way up. My middle school district was Groves, Port Neches, Woodrow Wilson (Lincoln), West Orange, Bridge City, Little Cypress, Mauriceville. We moved up to 5A, but when we dropped back down my junior year that's who we played again. I don't have a strong opinion or another, but the UIL has allowed this to happen in the past. Until they stop opt-ups for any reason, this will happen.
  15. HJ and Liberty currently compete in all sports from junior high up to varsity against Liberty, Huffman, Livingston, Splendora and Hamshire-Fannett. Football is the only district that doesn't look like that. So to me if there's no rule against it and they choose to move up, let it be.
  16. From Monday night HJ 85 Pasadena Rayburn 28. Lady Hawks are (2-0), also beat Atascocita 61-50 Saturday.
  17. I’ve found yearbooks back to the 70’s that just call it Columbia High School. I just think people called it by the city name forever. Their logo for as long as I can remember just had a C on the Roughneck.
  18. Forney is a 2 seed and La Porte is a 1, they shouldn’t be playing each other. Should that be Port Arthur going to Forney?
  19. Splendora is still a haul. Around 1:40 or more from Mid-County depending on traffic.
  20. PNG officially 1701
