  1. Saving the story for my show tomorrow at 6.
  2. Release form states The above named student in not eligible for VARSITY (yes it's capitalized in the form) until approved by the District Executive Committee or it's representatives. The committee should review both PART A and PART B of the transfer from prior to approval. All yes answers should be reviewed prior to approval. Form submitted by A.D. 2/7/13 Form was sent back with signature of District President (Bay Area Christian) signed on 2/12/2013 and District Vice-President (Logos Prep) signed on 3/4/13 Paper stamped and entered on 3/5/13
  3. There's multiple pages on transfer sheets. It's a sad for the kids and the A.D. feels horrible. They've moved on and are preparing for next year and add they respect the decision of TAPPS. They never intended to use an illegal player.
  4. And for those saying it's on the coach it's not. Papers at any school are turned into the A.D. The coach waits for approval. Once the A.D. tells a coach the player is approved the kid plays.
  5. Actually the approval was for varsity play. Like I said I've actually seen the paperwork.
  6. I interviewed the A.D. and will air his comments today. I've held the paperwork in my hand and all approvals were signed off by the district committee and also TAPPS. Nothing was hidden by Legacy, the boxes for playing summer ball for Fackler were checked YES. It was a simple mistake made by the AD missing the rule that he apologizes for but in checks and balances this should have been stopped before the end of the season. If the paperwork is checked yes in the two slots involving summer play then district should've stopped the transfer and then TAPPS. Neither did. Instead they waited until the playoffs. This could've gotten real ugly considering the papers were signed off on but Legacy chose the higher ground by not seeking legal action. The AD stated if they violated a rule no matter the paperwork being signed off on then they were in the wrong and it was his fault. They just feel bad for the kids.
  7. I can't say enough how much I'm hating MaxPreps providing the official UIL brackets now. It takes forever for scores to be updated especially small school and I'm finding a lot of mistakes. I wonder how this could mess up the playoff history sections for the future.
  8. As an underdog which in my eyes PN-G is (and I'm a former Indian) I want to be able to throw everything and the kitchen sink at a team. I haven't seen Georgetown but just looking at their results they look tough plus the fact that this is a 5A program just dropping down usually means depth. Indians have some good arms but none that I consider a stud that goes 7-8 innings right now. Use the power of the staff for one game.
  9. I really like the 1 game winner-take all schedule for this year's PN-G team. Georgetown will be tough.
  10. Lumberton's field is looking a lot better than back in the late 90's when we played there. West Brook is the home field of our men's team now. Good infield but not a huge fan of the turf around home plate.
  11. I don't think Texas State and Lamar would fill Reliant at all. Texas State can't even get their students to go into their own stadium, that's a problem an actual Texas State employee told me. They tailgate then head back on campus. Same problem Lamar is starting to have now. People tailgate but never make it into the stadium. SFA and Sam have had championship contending teams the past 3 years and have had good crowds for FCS schools. 2012- 26,185 2011- 25, 083 2010- 24, 685 I'm a proud Lamar Cardinal but all I see from fans is excuses of why they can't go to games. I can't imagine they would travel to Houston.
  12. PN-G beat Lincoln 32 or 34-0 in '97.
  13. Loved our home park Indian Filed at PN-G. 300-345-375-345-300. The infield was always in the best shape mainly because we worked on it constantly. Scotland Yard at The Woodlands was fantastic. Best field we use now in the MSBL is West Brook with Ozen's being a nightmare. The lip in front of 3rd makes playing third base against grown men pretty scary.

  17. Actually Lamar used 2 pitchers in the 18 inning Saturday. Wind was gusting out Sunday and both teams took advantage. A lot of hits by both sides that you wouldn't normally see. Looked like a game 3 from the live bat era. It was 9-0 after the 1st but 9-5 by the second. SLC race is going to be very good this year. Lots of good team. UCA was ranked 21st in the nation and got swept by Oral Roberts.
  18. Lamar 36 Presbyterian 18 Halftime. Lady Cards with 6 3-pointers. Kalis Loyd is sitting this one out with an injury. If they hold on they will play in the Montagne Center Sunday 3 pm vs Utah State or South Dakota.
  19. Very concerned about my Indians this year. I saw this coming.
  20. Lumberton has been playing some good baseball, wouldn't surprise me if the Raiders pulled this one out.
  21. The record of the teams isn't that great, this is true. But besides Northern Kentucky (first year in D1) the Cards have played some decent teams. Washington (4-11). 3 losses to Lamar, 5 losses to ranked teams (Cal Polyx2 and LSUx3). Huskies also beat Cal Poly once Columbia (1-6). 4 losses to Lamar. Lone win was against defending National Champ Arizona in Tucson. Wildcats won other two games of the series by a combined 3 runs. UMass (1-5). 3 losses to Lamar. Other losses Notre Dame and Tennessee. Win was against a bad Ohio team. Should beat Prairie View tomorrow but Panthers are expected to pitch number one vs Lamar's pitcher by committee. Texas Southern has 10 wins with one of those coming at Dallas Baptist. The trip this weekend could be tough with UT-Pan Am playing their first home games of the year. The main thing this team is showing is chemistry and solid pitching. Wish them the best.
  22. 10 straight wins, longest since 1993. Columbia who Lamar swept last weekend just beat defending National Champion Arizona in Tuscon last night.
  23. Just to make it clear I only reported Lamar isn't on the move yet. Chris came by to talk about the new members. He even added he thinks there is another big shift in conferences coming up off camera. That is the same term Jason Henderson told me as well. The Sun Belt did request some things on multiple schools including Lamar. So many rumors when in reality most of the rumors are false or just message board stuff.
  24. Is that Barbers Hill score final?
