I won't disregard the Texas Girls Coaches Association poll because it's been around for a long period of time and that's what most if not all of us used in TV/Newspaper. I also send in results for my district. I would like TVI's rankings more if they posted records, even if they're incomplete. -

The only team in the region we cover that's going to Volleypalooza is Barbers Hill. I think everyone agrees they are on another level compared to our region. Off the top of my head I don't think I saw any 3A teams entered in that tournament. The school I work for (HJ) is heading to San Marcos for the Ragin' Rattler Tournament. -

What teams would you put ahead of Bridge City at this time? It feels like you have some beef with BC for some reason lol. Buna is sitting with 7 losses. 5A PNG has 2 losses to 3A competition. Bridge City is in the very early stages of their schedule with one loss. So I'm really not understanding why a team with one loss in four sets (one being 29-27) is all of sudden not worthy of a top 5 rating for our corner of the state. Bridge City will face PNG in the Dayton Tournament, so we'll get a look at two of our local teams. Next week BC travels to Orlando, Florida for the KSA Tournament. -

We’ll see. BC plays Orangefield then travels to the Dayton Tournament this week. Two of us vote on this and we feel they do belong. -

PNG is 12-3, but two of those losses came to 3A Buna over the weekend. -

Bridge City has only played four games. More will be known about them after this week. -

5A Baytown Sterling went 28-8 last season and two rounds deep in the playoffs. They're no slouch. -
Thanks! I was just going off what I was told.

The West Fork Gators are competing at the varsity level in 20-4A for all sports besides football. Saw their volleyball team yesterday in the Tarkington Tournament.
-
I was told Buna looked good and outscored Lumberton.
-
Livingston 20 HJ 7 Teams played 4 quarters, but kept the clock running most of the time.

Thanks everyone! Looking forward to the next chapter and spending more time with my family, I'll still be around a posting things on sports independently for fun. No deadlines lol. I'm just a Has Been now!

It was the wort season opening loss for PNG. 2022 Port Arthur Memorial 50-15 (35 pts) 1926 Orange 41-7 (34 pts) 1955 Nederland 34-6 (28 pts) Worst losses on the books all-time for PNG 1944 Port Arthur 89-0 1987 Aldine MacArthur 75-0 I thought they lost that MacArthur game on the road though. The previous meeting in 1986 was 28-7.

Cards can list birthplace and hometown. Clay Buchholz had birthplace as Nederland and hometown as Lumberton. The card of Roschon I’ve seen says hometown Port Neches, but NFL lists birthplace as Port Arthur.

This is from what I’ve been told by coaches in the district. 3 way tiebreaker is head to head first of the 3 involved. If GCM, Nederland and PNG all end up 8-6 then head to head of the three is GCM 3-1 (3rd) PNG 2-2 (4th) NED 1-3 (5th-out) If all 3 had split then there would be a mini tournament.
