Despite only having 10 players and 9 by the end OCC defeats Texas Christian 80-71. Lions at most times had only 6 players available due to cramps in the 2nd half. OCC lead 55-34 at half. One player from the Lions was taken to the hospital due to a heart issue, no word on his condition. Hopefully just precautionary.

Prewitt is getting screwed around
AshlyHasBeen replied to puddin tane's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I wish people from here would understand the difference between D1 and HS athletics. These guys have competed for months. If anyone was at the game (about 3-4,000 actually went) you would know how bad the conditions were to throw in. It became a running game with the far supperior line winning. Prewitt is not getting screwed. This isn't little league, in college everyone doesn't get equal playing time. There aren't many D1 coaches you'll find that will find time to get 3 QB's in a game so if anything Woodard was trying to be fair. Lamar wins 58-0, be happy for the program and stop being negative. -
QB Bevil to start opener Saturday
AshlyHasBeen replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Let's remember last year is last year. The competition started in the spring and continued into the fall. Bevil has earned the starting spot. If he faulters he will lose the starting spot that's plain and simple. -

I figure we'll see 2 or maybe 3 qb's by the end of the game. Texas College is terrible. -
Max pre has Sant Fe "Divisional" Ranked # 50 ahead of La Porte, Texas City, Dobie, etc.... and a few slots behind Dayton at # 45. They have BH "Divisional" Ranked at 92. Max Prep's Team Preview for Santa Fe ] BH 24 Santa Fe 14
MaxPreps ratings are worth a good laugh that's about it. I'm picking The Hill -

Nederland defeats Lumberton 2-1 for championship -
Kirbyville was leading in game 1 over Woodville when I left. No score called in.

Thought it was a pretty even scrimmage. PN-G "O" has to put points on the board when they get their shots, hoping the kicker just missed his one shot for the Indians and not a sign of a weak kicking game. Thought Memorial got better as the game went on. Not sure why the game was switched to a touch game after the first on the QB's. Also two late hits by Memorial on PN-G missed right next to me. One on a throw out of bounds and another on Miller when he ran out of bounds. On the Miller run one of the officials admitted he was hit late so Faircloth "reminded" him that on Friday nights he better call it then. Two of my district favorites for the year.

Left after the 2nd LM score. Central didn't look really into it (this happens at 10:30 am scrimmages on 100+ degree turf). Still the Coogs were clearly better especially on the line. I think LM could've scored more if they would've continued to throw deep. Usually in a scrimmage you have set plays picked out though. The Central D did a good job of bending but not breaking a couple of times. But I'm still saying the Jags are a playoff contender for sure.

I put ? where I'm not sure. The bracket is weird in two spots.
