Lamar does not allow series to be played when the team is out of town on weekends. They want a representative from the coaching staff there. This is why sometimes indeed the Beck is not being used on weekends. Of course it has been used during the week before the team has left and it will be available for Regional championship rounds if they do not advance to NCAA regionals.

You are correct, the leveleing of the field and other prep work takes months. Turf goes down usually in a week. Two weeks after adding all the lines and artwork.

Honestly I think fans or more sensitive to stuff like that. As a former PN-G player I can tell you we enjoyed fans getting rowdy when we had time to notice. On the field you really can't hear anything.

Things have been like this in just the past decade that's why I don't freak out. This team didn't look good before the first pitch. 2000: (27-27, 11-16) missed tournament. Next season they had a losing record of (13-14) in SLC play and lost in the tournament title game to UTA. Of course after that 2002, 2003, 2004 Lamar made regionals.

Stone has done this in the past, starting the #3 first. I think they will be fine as long as the D tightens up. I'll be at their practice today, it should be interesting.

Hung with G when he got back after the UH game, he's not going anywhere.
