I agree, a strong local contingent on the roster would do nothing but help maintain fan interest and attendance numbers. However Dennis is right, history has shown that this area will only support a winning team, so they would need to get it together & produce some winning seasons in a relatively short period of time. Now having said that, yes, I would still buy 4 season tickets in the first year and remain a season ticket holder for the duration.

It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of guys. 8)

All I can say is congrats to the Jags. The game between Central & Dayton will be the best District game this year. Bulldogs, you've got a huge uphill road to hoe. We're backing you all the way.

Giving the team a local flavor would definitely boost ticket sales, and I would hope that if the program is resurrected, the head coach would recognize this and recruit accordingly. Obviously, you can't saturate the team with locals, but if you bring in a few marquee names with talent and name-recognition, that would do wonders for the program.

I hope it does come back. The sooner, the better. I will definitely support it.

It is not unusual for Nederland to lose their focus at least once during the season, although this is a bit early for it. In years past, games that "we thought" we were going to win ended up being huge disapointments for us (Lincoln, Central, PNG - sorry, I forgot the years but diehard Ned fans will know which games I am talking about). The best thing that can happen for us as a result of last week's loss is to consider it a wake-up call to be on our toes for a full 48 minutes against every opponent we face, not just the ones we think might give us some trouble. If we use this as a learning experience and find the benefit from it, then we will be fine. If we go back to the same complacent, "just protect the lead" thought process, IMO, we will find ourselves sitting at home for Bi-District games.

I can't argue with ya there. Tonight, Vidor showed that they had better be taken seriously for the remainder of the season.

It has to be the ones who won tonight . . . Central, Vidor, PNG, & Dayton.

I posted on the other thread, but I'll post it here as well . . . Congrats to Vidor on the hard-fought, well-deserved win. This should definitely kick-start the remainder of your season. Bulldogs, get a good night's rest and put this one behind you. Central is coming to visit next week and I am sure they are licking their chops!!
